Had to take my 2012 Enclave in for service on the air bag sensor since an error code showed up on the dashboard. They ran a diagnostic test on it and found the problem in no time. I did have to leave it overnight but it was fixed early the next day and I had her back by noon. The people who run the service department are very friendly and attentive to my needs. If I could give zero stars, I would. I purchased a 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee L five weeks ago. Two weeks after I bought it, I had to take it in for a vibration when I would turn. Five days later, I contacted them, asking for an update. They told me that the rear differential needed to be replaced, parts were ordered and would be in that week. This is now two weeks later and I still don't have my vehicle and they're still "waiting on parts". I've reached out to managers and Abbi Lochmandy, who sent a handwritten thank you, and nobody will even return my calls. I just want my vehicle that I traded in back and to be done with these scammers! I do not recommend. I have purchased 2 new vehicles from this place. Very poor after the purchase. The salesman, who I purchased both vehicles from, had to ask for my phone number when I had another issue and needed my new vehicle serviced (I would think you'd save contact information for customers, especially repeat customers). The service department called to reschedule my appointment on a safety issue because they could not keep for some reason, then tried to charge me for a rental why they fixed it. Don't get me wrong, they are friendly, and courteous, and always welcome you with a smile....right up until they recognize that you're an educated consumer. Once the salesman realized that Im no chump, that I understand what I'm looking for, it's value, and the value of my trade-in, he wanted nothing to do with me. I signed a purchase agreement for a used car back in the middle of September. Finally after waiting for 2 months and 2 days and getting numerous excuses about fixing recalls (one of them, they didn't acknowledge/fix), with myself driving to Elkhart from Michigan. To tell them it's going to happen today or no sale. Then we get possession. At the closing were told they will transfer title to Michigan for us. Finally after 2 more calls and 5 weeks we get the title. But S. O. S. in Michigan will not accept the tile to transfer because the person who signed it is not the owner. I gave a one star rating and I wish I could give them a negative five as they completely deserve and earned it. First off they take forever to get your vehicle scheduled in for repair. By the time they can even work it in they are over a month wait. After you finally get the vehicle in they take the same or longer to get it back to you taking over a month. So, put this into perspective at least two months without a vehicle when most places take a week or less for both. They have sophisticated state of the art OEM diagnostic equipment and ASE certified mechanics. They can't locate a common problem a amateur shade tree mechanic with nothing more than instinct, raw talent and experience can quickly locate. They break and ruin good parts on the vehicle during disassembly to get at the target and problem areas. This wouldn't be a problem if they ate the mistake. They don't and charge the customer back the full amount for their tech's incompetence and laziness for not being more careful and using proven methods to get rusted or stuck parts off without damage. While keeping the vehicle for over a month, jacking around and jacking their jaws, they continue to find more things wrong that weren't specified on the original quote totaling several more thousand dollars in the end. They replace and throw away brand new parts that were just installed a few months prior to install their own while attempting to throw parts at it until they finally figure out what is wrong. Remember they have ASE certified techs and very expensive OEM sophisticated diagnostic equipment to pinpoint the exact source of the problem. The "extra" parts they wreck along the way and whatever they feel like changing out totals between $500 - $800 on the bill. Call me crazy but if you want to "guess" you do it with $25 -$50 parts.....not $600+ parts. That is what you are paying them for and them being professional. If you want to just be a "parts changer" you could easily do that yourself. So now after waiting months you have a vehicle that still has one of the major problems you originally brought it on for and you leaving with your wallet THOUSANDS lighter. Do not go here if you value honesty and work ethic. These people are con artists because a good professional doesn't legitimately keep making those kinds of costly mistakes. Amateurs with none of the diagnostic equipment or formal training can guess pretty close as to what the problem is. Actually the first suspected part was the ultimate culprit and these people wasted your hard earned money. Long story short is I will never go back in this lifetime. I'm surprised they are still open and nobody has filed a lawsuit against them yet. Life is too short...you don't need it or these people making life tougher for you. read more

This review applies only to the Lochmandy sales department only. In 2010 we bought a 2006 Kia SUV from them, and though it had some initial problems, they worked them out to our satisfaction and the car has been excellent. Now, as we were looking to upgrade, we stopped there to just look at used cars, when out came the young salesman to show us around. Okay, well after showing us a couple of used cars, he said he just wanted us to look at a couple of new cars, "heck, why not"? So then he said to my wife, "Have you ever had a new car?" After she said "no", he commenced to say that, "Everyone should have a new car once in a lifetime." Hum, really? He settled on giving us a great deal on a "demo" 2018 ford SUV. Well, I wasn't sure if the shift from engine off at stop lights to engine on was very smooth, so was leery. Still, I was willing to listen. I told him that the price was too much for us and told him what our limits were, so he went to get his supervisor who was going to make us a great offer. He did nothing at all to help, but offered to have us "rent" the car. We said that we'd call back and didn't. He then called us and had to be told that we we needed to wait and think about even buying a car. 2 weeks later, we passed a jeep dealer and stopped in to see what they had. They gave us a tremendous deal, with something like $5,000 right off the top on a 2019. We ended up paying quite a bit less than the other and had all kinds of add-ons and coverage for this beautiful new Cherokee that was right off the truck. We love it and glad that we didn't make the mistake of settling for the second-rate car from Lockmandy. read more

Bait and Switch!!! I went to Lochmandy Motors on a Saturday. Looked at all the used cars and found one I loved. A Chrysler 200 convertible hard top (I fell in Love). A sales person came out with the keys, we checked it all out and went inside to fill out the ppwk. Sat in the office for about 45 minuets and sales rep apologized it was taking so long. I asked if while we waited we could take the car for a test drive. I mean I already filled out all the ppwk, I wanted this car but figured I could waste some time. He said we could and he would be right back with the keys and a tag. He came back and told me he apologized but the car was SOLD!!! What???? Now I have 8 Hard Inquiries on my credit score for a car that was sold while I was in their sales office!!!! NEVER EVER EVER will I go there again!!! read more

I called and made an appointment to have a simple procedure done on my Envoy. They quoted me a price of $63 - about 1/2 hour of work. I accepted and they gave me a 9am time-slot. Upon arriving for this appointment, they promptly told me that the procedure would take 1-2 hours. Mind you, all I need to have done is a simple crankshaft relearn - this is 15-20 minutes, tops. I'm paying over 17,000 for a used car first thing I say to the salesman after test driving it, is I would like to have new tires put on it. He go's and rub his hand across the tire and says it has good treads and I reply yes it has some treads but it's round on the outer edge's no reply after that we continue inside where start the paper work, three hours later still at it because I wanted a payment that I could fit into my budget which was 400. a month and this was with no trade in and a 1,000 down... no luck next morning I get a call saying I had been approved so I go in the following day and the first thing they tell me is the bank needs your truck for a trade in and that when I told them forget it then they said we don't want your truck but the bank looks at it like this ( you will be more inclined to make your payments if you don't have something else to fall back on ) so they jacked up the down payment to 1,750 and I simply told them I don't have it, no problem they say we will give you 45 days to come up with it. At the end of the 45 days I didn't have It but I made arrangements to automatically pay them straight from my bank account... at which time they put a hold on the title that they had to release or take the car back. but this is my fall out just a little over a month I call them told them that there was a vibration in the front end and they told me it would be a 125.00 for them to look at it. I took the car to bell tire where first thing they notice was the tires were bad they were in the green but the tires were dry rotted the right front one was low of air he also found holds in the side wall because of the dry rote and when I call the salesman to tell hem about it, his reply you had it over 30 days and that's not to mention that 750. dollars they told me not to mention it to the finance company. We purchased a 2016 Ram 2500 from Lochmandy. This vehicle was still under the manufacturer's warranty when we took it in for paint peeling off the body on the driver's side of the vehicle. Tami in the body shop took pictures of the truck and said that they would get back with us. She came back and said that Dodge would not be covering the paint under the manufacturer's warranty because the running boards were taken off. The running boards were not on the vehicle when we purchased it. When we asked to speak to the GM of the store we were told that was not an option and that we were pretty much SOL. We took the truck to two other body shops and we were shown where this truck had paint work done to it. Both of the body shops that examined the truck said that it was damaged and not painted properly. When we purchased the truck, we were told that it was a dealership demo transfer and that it had never been in an accident. They never disclosed that this truck had body work done to it. Since then, the paint has started peeling off of the truck on the passenger side as well. We also took the truck in for service a few weeks after picking it up for the breaks making a horrendous noise. The service department said that there was nothing wrong with the breaks and everything was within spec. Tell that to the person that is pulling up to a stoplight in a 2016 truck that sounds like a cash for clunkers vehicle. read more

I scheduled to have a recall on my vehicle completed at 8:00am on a Saturday. I dropped my vehicle off the night before to make sure it was available to them at 8 am. I was told that I had the option to wait as it would take about an hour to complete. I called at 12:30 pm asking if they could check to see if my car was complete. I was told it hadn't been back yet and wouldn't be done until 2:30pm! I asked how that is possible when I had an 8am appointment. Nicole said that there was someone before me. I asked again how it was possible that it is now 12:30 and if my vehicle takes an hour how it was not getting worked on yet when I had an 8am appointment? She snidely stated, "sorry we have a full schedule today". At this point I asked to speak to a manager as I was having to reschedule my entire day by not having a vehicle. I was out on hold and Nicole got back on the phone and said, "she said the same thing. Your car won't be done until 2:30pm." I was livid. I tried calling and left a message for Norm, the manager and he never was there or returned my calls. A customer service rep, named Ashley called me the next week to ask about my experience. Her only answers were that someone forgot to explain to me that my appointment time only means that my vehicle is THERE. NOT the time that it will be worked on. So basically-I need to keep to a schedule in giving them my vehicle but they can do whatever they want and manage their time irresponsibly and it's ok. Will never be back and won't be buying another vehicle from you. Extremely poor management and customer service. read more
