We both had French Onion Soup (three stars) and for desert, we ordered the Flourless chocolate cake. (3 stars) I was happy very happy with the Walleye dinner (Five Stars) Fresh and cooked just right. The roasted vegetables were excellent. We were not happy with the Short rib with mashed potatoes. The Short rib was dry and lacked flavor. It tasted like overcooked pot roast. Mashed potatoes were not much better. (2 1/2 stars at best). A very nice venue/restaurant both inside and out. Great location. Our server was just okay. She seemed to be just "going through the motions" and was not very engaging. (3 Stars). I think that the Twisted Willow is probably a good restaurant with quality food. Perhaps we just came in on a bad night for Short Rib and engaging service. We will most likely give them another try.

The dark atmosphere and heavy, dark all-wood decor gives a vibe you can't find at any chain eatery. Our server, Bailey, was great at just simply interacting on a human level and making us out-of-towners feel welcome in what is obviously a locals hang-out. And yes, I got my cheese curds. Being from out of town we didn't know we should do that. Then the bill came, all on one check, and asked if we minded. One of us said yes.....we would like separate bills. Kids meals were half off on Sunday, which was cool. The location on the marina is gorgeous. Their beer menu wasn't super updated, but I did get to try a pastry sour that was pretty good.
