It was also size xtra small that fitted me perfectly I bought 2, a light green n dark green with matching necklaces made of fake pearls, I wanted to buy the whole rack but all other colors were all size small that would only fit a whale! lol , they were proudly made by the same family since 1957! It's made of rayon which usually requires dry cleaning but the low price $40 n necklace only $5 made it worth it. They had all kinds of gifts n fashion jewelry I bought quite a few gifts for my grandkids. I don't understand why somebody would report this business as closed, it is 100% open n full of customers bc of very reasonable prices n huge selection of Aloha clothing for men, women n children. We were a family of two adults and two younger teenagers strolling around Hilo, shopping and enjoying the farmers market. We hadn't been on the Big Island for very long and this was our first opportunity to see what kind of local items were offered on the Island. I say this knowing a 13-year-old and a 15-year-old with their own hard-earned chore money, wanted to buy some souvenirs. We meandered into the Akaka Falls Trading Post, and the old man in the photos showed them some cheap plastic necklaces (a knock-off of what is normally a traditional Hawaiian real nut necklace, found everywhere for $4-$5). Without us adults nearby, he sneakily sold EACH child a $15 plastic (not even a real nut) necklace because they didn't know any better. As this was happening, the woman was nonstop talking my ear off telling me about her daughter who lives near me in California. Okay... ??? I was trying to be polite until she told me her daughter, who is 20 years old, already had 4 college degrees... as I questioned this, not surprisingly I could plainly see this was a lie based on her back up statements. Fine. I'm not here for a new lifelong friend, I'm clearly just a person who has the patience to listen to some unhinged woman's ramblings. The old man was also trying to get my boyfriends personal information so he could start sending him a new newsletter he was writing (huh?) After these diversions, and the sneaky theft of money from the children, the old man wanted to pose for pictures with the kids which seemed creepy in the moment as well, but we nonchalantly complied... maybe it will make for an interesting vacation memory? We realized much later what had actually transpired... and thus reminded me of a time when riding the subway in Barcelona when a pick pocket was taking my attention away on the subway, as he simultaneously stole my camera from my bag. So there were two girls on 6/9/26 at a couple of minutes before 4. One of the two girls were okay, but the other... let me tell you. I picked something up to try on because I have had my eye on this style of dress online for the longest time and was excited to see it in person. I was going wait for them to come to O'ahu but thought since I'm on vacation, I thought maybe I wouldn't have to wait to get it. Alohiwai is actually one of the first stores I always choose being a VIP at Ho'omau. I was in the dressing room trying on the one dress I took in, LOVED it, decided I was going to make a last minute purchase, and was almost about to come out, when I hear the other girl of the two say, "hey.. so we close at 4 and it's 4:04. So you kinda need to wrap it up" I didn't say anything because I was actually taken aback. I didn't get to see what she looked like, but my sister did. This girl worker, btw, was wearing an off the shoulder white top with curly hair and has tattoos on her shoulders 6/9/26 @ 4:04pm (& yes, I know the exact time to the minute since this worker was in a rush to get home). This worker lacked SO much professional ediquette. In the moment, I was in shock to have been talked to that way from a brand I actually REALLY loved and wanted to go back inside the store, but thought writing a review would be better. (couldn't if I wanted to because they were 4 minutes past closing time) Overall, I'm disappointed and just thought that that first experience IN STORE was a sour one. I ended up not buying anything in store because I felt rushed with the store being closed for 4 minutes. The unprofessional worker was assisting another customer and was being so helpful and professional with her, so maybe she took out her frustrations of wanting to go home right at 4:00pm on the dot with me? Not sure. But I took my business down to all the other stores down the row with better customer service. This experience was so negative for me that I'm questioning taking my business for Ho'omau this weekend when I get back home to O'ahu. Always love shopping at their booth, but for sure NEVER coming back to their home location.
