I loved the vibe of this place - the outdoor seating and the lights and the people who were there, and overall the general atmosphere. The merch section was pretty solid, and the beertenders were quick, nice, and helpful. One sweet girl helped me carry my flight and drink to where I was sitting, which I very much appreciated. Regarding the beer, I'll be honest and say it was not my favorite. It was definitely tolerable given all the other pluses of this place, but none that were on draught last night particularly stood out to me or the person I was with. We tried about 9-10 different styles (out of 12) in the form of flights. Some were really great, some ok, and some kind of sucked. BUT that is the beauty of beer and of food and everything of Yelp -- this is a personal opinion and not representative, clearly, of how others feel. My party was quite ready to go after a long day at graduation but waited quite a while, even though the restaurant was mostly empty at that point. Overall, a very small matter that did not dampen our very enjoyable evening. One extra nice touch was the little table lamp, which cast a perfect bright light over the table surface, but a very pleasant indirect light everywhere else.

I liked that they have a lunch menu, which includes a sandwich, side, and non alcoholic beverage for $10. My choice was the ECU smash burger, which included two patties, chili, slaw, and mustard. Side was the Cajun dusted fries, and a sweet tea. While waiting, I noticed two local things - the stage for the ECU Pirate Radio show, which airs live at this location on Mondays, and just a few tables away from me WNCT's Sportscaster legend Brian Bailey! We ordered drinks and I have had a fair amount of Grey Goose dirty martinis in my life and let me tell you, the bartender knocked this one out of the ballpark. One of the best I have ever had anywhere! We ordered an app, the Chef Crab Dip and it was wonderful. Not too crabby, perfect blend of cheeses and pita chips that I am pretty sure are house-made. I had the Chicken Cordon Bleu which was absolutely out of this world! I got to sample the other two entrees at the table, which were the Garlic Parm Chicken Pasta and the special that evening, which was a bacon wrapped Filet Mignon topped with a bacon jam. Both of them were also to die for! We didn't have dessert as we were stuffed already. The bill was $189, which I didn't consider bad as we had an app, three entrees and six drinks. While some might consider that a lot for dinner, I'm also the guy that doesn't bat an eye at spending $600 for a dinner for two at a gourmet French restaurant. Anyway, I can't recommend The Rickhouse enough. Everything from start to finish was just about as perfect of an experience as you can get at a restaurant! The crust is for sure the best pizza crust in Greenville. I am subtracting one star from my rating because they have changed the menu up some and my favorite pizza, The Merry Prankster, is no longer on the menu. The menu seems smaller than it once was. The pizza we got was on the local menu and was very good, just not as good as the old one we used to get. I guess that just means it's time to try something new!
