Overall good food, tried several items. Mac and cheese is a go to, especially when getting takeout.

I was not ready for the biggest hot cake I ever eaten and it was cook very nice. Hats off to the three cooks who were cranking out the orders. The place was busy but the wait time to sit and get my food was worth the wait. I would come back again to wait in line for the food.. Great place to stop by if you're driving through Cedar Rapids. The place is very nice inside, a little cramp but who cares the food was great.

Tucked into an unassuming strip mall, it was easy to miss from the outside, but inside it had all the charm of a classic hometown diner. Since it was early on a Friday morning, we were seated right away with no wait. Our server was cheerful, attentive, and made us feel right at home. The menu had all the diner staples you would expect, and we decided to kick things off by sharing a cinnamon roll. It came out warm with a generous layer of cream cheese frosting. A solid start to the day. I went with the Corned Beef Hash combo, which came with two eggs, hashbrowns, and the option to substitute toast for a pancake for $1.99. Easy choice. I don't drink coffee, so Diet Pepsi was my morning fuel. Yep, it is another Pepsi establishment. My vegetarian sidekick ordered a veggie omelet without onions, but when the food arrived, hot and fresh, she discovered onions had snuck in. It was no big deal. They were very apologetic and had a corrected version out quickly. We shared my pancake while we waited, which kept everyone happy. All in all, this spot delivered exactly what we needed. Friendly service, cozy atmosphere, and breakfast classics done right. It is a nice little gem if you are passing through or just looking for a relaxed morning bite.

I ordered a Margarita. It was excellent! Great taste and nice presentation. My wife gota a glass of wine from their decent wine list, and my brother got a very reasonably priced 7-7. Drinks were great and our food came out quickly. I got the Montreal Beef Sandwich. Tasty brisket with a great combination of flavors. Fries were good. My wife got the Salmon BLT, which was also very good, with great bacon and a nice slab of fish. She got the upcharged Brussels Sprouts for her side and they were also tasty. My brother got the Arnold Palmer Chicken Sandwich, a tea-soaked sandwich that he enjoyed. He got the house chips, and they were also good. Service was attentive, and both servers who hit up our table were great. Fun vibe, and what looks to be and up-and-coming neighborhood.

The salmon was good on my egg Benedict, but the hollandaise sauce was clumpy and it was overall underwhelming. The bite I had of my friend's lox bagel tasted pretty good. I ordered the Chocolate Chip Banana Brioche Bread Pudding for dessert and my friend order the beignets. I thought the chocolate chip and chocolate sauce overpowered the bread pudding. I would have preferred less chocolate sauce and more cream sauce to balance out the chocolate chips. However, if you are a chocolate lover and you can enjoy it with a large glass of milk it may be right up your alley. The beignet were disappointing compared to those in New Orleans. The beignet's exterior was harder than normal and they weren't as fluffy. The service was overall good, however I wish the waitress would have asked if I would like a refill, versus me flagging her down 10 minutes after my glass was empty especially since the soda/tea glasses are about half the size of other restaurants.

The restaurant is very roomy with a variety of low top and high top seating as well some chairs available at the bar. The menu has so many great options it hard to make a final decision. On Christmas Eve we went for breakfast. I brought my own specialty tea in my mug. Lo and behold I neglected to take it with me upon departure. On Christmas day I sent a quick message via Facebook and was surprised to get a reply in a short time saying that it was found, and I could pick it up next time I stopped by. What great service.

My husband visited on a Friday night. Fish fry Friday. He ordered the mushroom and swiss burger with sweet potato fries. The burger was dry. Maybe not overcooked, but definitely dry. It is literally a burger with Swiss cheese and a few mushroom slices. The sweet potato fries were just that. No seasoning of any kind and no dipping sauce to accompany. Not a deal breaker, but nothing standout. My flight was delayed but I was craving their fish tacos. I've ordered these so many times and they are my go to, because they never fail me. Even when they changed the menu from 3-tacos to 2-tacos, still a favorite. That changed Friday night. My husband ended up ordering them to go for me because again, delayed flight. When I opened the container, had I not been so tired, I would have driven right back there and asked for replacement tacos. (I realize this part is on me, so don't come for me, I'll talk to them on my next visit, because I'll be back). The fish was tiny and almost burnt on the outside. Inside the batter, the fish was dry and almost not edible. I ate one taco, mostly tortilla, pico and cabbage, and half of my fries. Talk about disappointment. I'm not saying don't try the fish tacos, but maybe not on a Fish Fry Friday night when it might be too much for the cooking staff. On the plus side, the sauce on the tacos was tasty!
