We happened to come by on National Ice Cream day by chance on a Sunday so it was a little crowded but the workers were still so nice and patient. It was our first time there and loved they had both unique and classic flavors. My boyfriend got a double scoop cup with key lime pie and patriotic pop and I got the double scoop cup with brookie and mint chocolate chip. All the flavors tasted so fresh and yummy! I cannot believe it has taken me so long to try this place. We went in yesterday around 3:00pm and the 2 young ladies working were so nice and let us sample a few flavors. This was the best ice cream we have ever had. We rarely ever finish ice cream when we get it , but we went back for another scoop after finishing what we ordered in the first place. I couldn't leave without trying the cookies and cream. Let me tell you that was the best ever! I'm so glad we have a new ice cream shop. Local Creamery Plano is a hidden gem in a big city of popular ice cream spots. The staff were friendly, patient, and genuinely seemed to enjoy helping customers. With so many options it was difficult to choose. I was convinced to try a sample of the Campfire Vibes. One taste and I was in campfire roasted marshmallow heaven. It's refreshing to see such cheerful and attentive service. It made the visit all the more enjoyable. Each Texas-sized scoop is rich, creamy and made fresh in house, can't get much better than that! There are many flavors to choose from and each has its own unique flavor profile. Some of our favorites are: The Panther (seasonal), The Wildcat (seasonal), Mint Chip, Strawberry, Birthday Cake, and Vanilla. Went today to try it out. My measuring stick up against all ice cream shops is Salt and Straw in Seattle. I had the Texas Bluebonnet and the Brown Butter, Pecan and Honeycomb Candy flavor. All I have to say is Salt and Straw who. There is a reason Plano Local Creamery got best in Texas and No. 1 in USA. It is excellent. I'll go back again and again and again! We've never had an issue asking for a sample (we only ask for a max of 2 total anyways) and their staff is friendly. There's always typically a line no matter what time you come, but it's not bad. I never knew this gem existed in plano until i was left starving and barely making it after a tough day of furniture shopping nearby. I fought my way across the scorching summer heat in the parking lot to make it to this oasis! The staff greeted us as soon as we walked in. All the ice cream is made by them and they claimed to have won lots of awards. I can tell you they earned them. I wanted their special flavor but they were all out so i made the quick pivot to their brownie Sundae with coffee and cookies and cream ice cream with extra hot fudge. The brownie was warmed and was perfect and I'm very picky on my brownies!! The ice cream was creamy and perfect as well. You ask me where is the picture? Well it was half gone before it even crossed my mind! Again it was life and death as described! Clearly i will just have to go back to order another to get a picture!! We've found our new favorite ice cream shop!!! Not only is the inside clean and welcoming with plenty of seating, everything is made fresh in-house. There are no artificial colors or flavors and they have DAIRY FREE ice cream that actually tastes really good! Our kids were squealing as they looked at each flavor, discovered the brownie and cookie bowls, saw the chocolate dipped cones with sprinkles and then beheld all the a la carte toppings. I was so pleased with the flavors of dairy free ice cream, especially the strawberry. The cost is 100% comparable to what ice cream goes for these days and the scoop size was decent. We enjoyed our treats then played aaa couple games from the plethora of games they offer & even enjoyed the chalk drawings out front which is available to the kiddos. We asked what was in Texas Bluebonnet & was told its a mystery flavor that only the owner knows, so of course we had to sample it & had fun guessing what it was. The staff didn't steer us wrong on our final selections of cookie monster & chocolate oreo. Since chocolate oreo is dairy free, there is a slight hint of coconut cream taste in the first few bites, but afterwards, the chocolate pops out & becomes the focus of the flavor. Hubby channeled his inner cookie monster & finished his scoop quickly. I found the last pint of peach truck, so snatched that up & am looking forward to trying it out this week. There's plenty of seating both indoor & out. Good music & board games inside, sidewalk chalk outside & even mother nature started putting on a sunset show. Overall we had a nice experience at the Local Creamery. We went on a Tuesday night before heading over to HEB to do some grocery shopping. I was surprised at how busy they were for a Tuesday evening but it is still summer so ice cream must've sounded nice to more than just us. It's a cute shop but easy to miss if you're driving down Preston. We ordered a brownie and double dip waffle cone with cookies n cream and coffee (crunch?) flavors. The brownie was great! Moist and fudgy plus it was a decent size. The ice cream was a little lack luster but still tasty. While we sampled one flavor (Bluebonnet) and the female attendant told the male helping us that they had given away over $1k in samples this month so he needed to limit samples. We had one sample and I wanted to try another one but based on this conversation (said loud enough for all of those in line to hear), I opted to just get the one sample and forgo and second cone. They must've have been out of several flavors because the menu/flavor board was half filled and several of the of ice cream containers were empty. This could have been because it was towards the end of the month and they were switching over flavors but a little odd/disappointing. read more

Awesome neighborhood ice cream parlor. We went after Jujitsu practice and they weren't suppose to open till noon but she saw our boys and came out and opened earlier for us.
