It's called the lobby bar cuz its near hotel registration, most of the bars at South Point have a similar feel, and it's kinda eh. It's sponsored or renamed to the Las Vegas 400 Bar due to the Nascar meets. Doesn't makr much difference. Bartenders here are the same at any other bar in property. They have newer machines in every other position, some curved and the most recent, some are flat but raised. I really don't prefer these machines. If you play blackjack, no let it ride. Keno, they don't permit you to choose your bets, you can only add and bet more than intended. I feel the poker machines hit more often on the older models. Drinks are the same everywhere also. A very average hotel/casino/resort bar in las vegas. The upside to Lobby and Catalina bars are their being near the table games, high limit, and centered within the building. Let me count the times that I have visited the Lobby Bar in South Pointe. Way to many to count. The service is always on point here. Its probably why I frequent it so much. It is a fantastic little area to come and drink, smoke, and catch the game. Last night D and I visited and had fast, friendly, amazing service. Either going to the bar to order or waiting for the cocktail waitress is a matter of needs at the time. Usually when D and I visit we sit at a table and wait for the lovely cocktail waitress to bring us drinks. When I'm alone or meeting someone here I usually sit at the bar. The bar here is fully stocked and the bartender can fulfill whatever wicked concoction that you might be seeking. From shots, Mai Tais, to Vodka with Lime on the Rocks they only use top shelf liquor and spirits to make the drinks here. The bartenders will pour the shots or make the drink right in front of the customers too. This is a signature of a fantastic bartender that is not afraid of anything. The bar staff here are highly talented and welcoming. Thanks South Point for hiring the best to ensure that when I want to drink it's going to be rocking every time. Typical tourist Las Vegas is not what one will find here at this Lobby Bar. They do not even serve food here. The drinks are plentiful. The many televisions are running the latest sporting events or games in real vivid color. The prices reflect more of a local haunt here than tourist trends. A typical price for a Bud Light can run you $4.00 on the low end and the high end $6.00. Shots will set you back around $5-12. Depending on your poison! Mixed drinks and spirits will run around $6-10. These prices do not reflect a gratitude. That's extra, always tip the wait staff. So as one can fathom this is a logical place for drinks where you can have two or three and not break the bank. If you gamble that is a whole other situation that could go for or against you. Gamble responsibly, please! You get free drinks to gamble, but this should not be the only reason for gambling. Or at least not all the time! The mention of no food can be remedied by the Del Mar Deli or Steak and Shake! You can bring food here and enjoy it with the amazing cocktails that they pour. How do I know you can bring food in? Here's how. On a visit with two friends I was getting hungry and they kept ordering round after round. I asked our fabulous cocktail waitress for a menu. She informed me that Del Mar Deli is open. Wanting something heavier we continued our party at the Oyster Bar. Problem solved of food. On recent visits here I have brought food from Del Mar and enjoyed it with an ice cold Bud or Corona; plus the game! Lobby Bar at South Point is a score for whatever you need to celebrate. It is casual or dressy. The atmosphere here is so chilled and welcoming that why not come grab a chair and have cocktails. It's football season too. This is where you will find me at. This is your typical lobby bar in a casino. We were given a coupon for a free Budweiser when we checked in so we stopped here to use it. Bartender was quick and friendly. There were poker machines to play if you wanted and lots of TVs with sports. There was a great display of liquor and a nice variety of beer from which to choose. read more

Lobby Bar - Sports Bars Near Me - Las Vegas, Nevada

The Lobby Bar is conveniently located on the casino floor, near the check in desk/lobby...imagine that! It is one of the first bars you run into when you come in through the valet entrance doors. It has a sister bar on the other side of the gaming tables, which is larger, but the service on that bar wasn't up to par. Each of the bars had one bartender while we were there. The lobby bar is a bit smaller so it's easier for one bartender to manage the work load. The other bar is about twice as big, so you don't see the bartender as often resulting in less quality of service. The service at the Lobby Bar was exceptional the entire day we frequented it. The bartender was quick to get our order, & quick to fill it every time. They have a daily special: $1 mimosas and $1 bloody Mary's until noon! This might not be the fanciest or prettiest bar but the prices are very reasonable for Las Vegas. Gin and tonics are only $4. Are you serious? You can't even get a soda for that price on the strip. A shot of patron was $7.50. I consider this bar a bargain. I guess you can consider this "off the strip prices." This is not a bad place to grab a drink or a few drinks. Order a cocktail, play a few rounds of video poker and watch the bar babes work. read more

Let's start off with how nice the bar is....... Went to sit with a friend and have a drink and was IMMEDIATELY approached by a waitress and was talked down to and told the area we were in was on for paying customers. We bother looked at her with a dumb founded look and ordered a drink. I saw they had Blantons bourbon so I ordered that. Brings me the drink and after the first sip I knew right away it was a whiskey caked wild turkey. Not my favorite and not what I ordered. I kindly ask her if they made the mistake and she got defensive and proceeded to argue with me stating "we don't serve wild turkey at this bar" with an incredibly condescending tone. Now... I'm no connoisseur and most certainly not an idiot. I double checked the menu, you know... since I can read and what not, and it clearly said "wild turkey 101 pve" incredibly annoyed and upset since I was being treated like Julia Robert's in pretty woman when she walks into that department store on rodeo drive. The waitress brings me another glass of whiskey and tells me they were out of blantons.... Still with an attitude making it out to be my fault. Still felt like a jerk and went ahead and apologized for something I didn't do nor should I have had to apologize for. Management should look into retraining the staff.... Or look into hiring someone that deserves the since it's such a "nice bar" where they don't serve wild turkey since it's apparently a "cheap" whiskey. Take your money elsewhere unless you like being talked down to and dismissed. And I know you're probably wondering who this star waitress was.... The bars at the South Point are totally decent, and there are six of them. This one is located nearest the hotel check in desk, so this is your first booze-related checkpoint during your entire Las Vegas experience if you are checking into the hotel. I recommend that you stop for a drink. Keep in mind that, like most gaming bars in Las Vegas, booze is free if you're playing. Of course, there are mandatory minimum bets to make to get the comped drinks. Many bars are stingy about these drinks. This bar is not. The bartenders will pour you a hearty cocktail and make sure that you get your buzz on while hammering out hands of video poker. read more
