FYI to all people considering Lamemart for a loan or already have a crappy loan with them. Now's a good time to catch them slipping and sue them. They're in the process of big changes and they're fing up left and right. If you follow laws being passed in California, you will find out that a new law just enacted this year. Title loan companies like loanmart can no longer charge interest above 36%. Hence, why a lot of title loan companies in CA closed down. This law only goes for CA, there are other states who also follow this law but not all 52 states in the USA have this law. These companies and "investors" spend literally billions of dollars lobbying so laws like the one that just passed in CA, dont pass. Some are finding smarter ways to still charge outrageous interest and still do it from CA. How you ask?...well let me tell you! Loanmarts Ceo Hugo Dooner came up with the idea to use a bank in Utah, called capital community bank who's issuing loans for loanmart. So now loanmart is no longer a lender but "services" loans for capital community bank, who is now the lender....in lamen terms-basically loanmart made a deal with capital community bank to still be able to issue title loans under capital community banks name but serviced by loanmart...so loanmart is now protected under Utah law, which does not have the interest law that California has. Well played Loanmart. Since Utah has no restrictions on the amount of interest a bank can charge, capital community bank is now in the business of screwing people over with Loanmart. The only reason Loanmart is still in business is because of this deal, had they not made this deal, they would be out of business because Loanmart makes its millions with the outrageous interest they charge their customers. Not only that but just recently. Loanmart was ordered to refund or reimburse a lot of customers Gap insurance fees. They just sent out checks with no letter explaining why they were given a 200 dollar check. What customers don't know is that, One; Loanmart was calling it GAP insurance, when loanmart has no license to sell GAP insurance! Second; when those 200 dollars were collected there was interest being accumulated with those 200, technically Loanmarts was supposed to reimburse the 200 plus the interest. Do you think Loanmart reimbursed the interest? NOPE! they just reimbursed the 200 with no explanation because they didnt want customers questioning what was going on!! Smells like class action lawsuit, doesn't it!? So, when customers call questioning why they were being given 200. Loanmarts management was ordering the agents to tell customers that the 200 was for the "GAP product" so the company wouldn't get into hot water by calling it GAP insurance. Trust me folks Loanmart does not care about its customers let alone its own poorly paid employees. Not only does this company screw over its customers but also screws over its employees. Everything could improve!! These people are thieves and have multiple bad reviews and the irony is their customers have almost the same story! They took my car! I paid the loan up to where it's not in default and they will not return it or give me my personal items like my house key motorcycle key etc . They wouldn't tell me where the car was! I found it myself ! They lied about almost everything! I signed updated loan with lower payments and interest rate now it's like it doesn't exit!! Also when they sent me the ups label to drop my title they didn't put the document that goes with the title and application to put lien on my title so technically they don't even have a lien on it so I was told I could not get my things or my car! I'm definitely filing everywhere possible and seeking an attorney tomm this place is the worst place to do business with and I will never use them again or even suggest anyone use them! They are bullies and try to force you into fixing the mistake they made so I was told unless I sign that paper I wasn't getting anything and the appointment I set to get my personal things was declined not to mention the loan is not in default and my car should not be held hostage ! they have some shady a$$ people working for them thay are rude and down right nasty! And if you get ur payments in order and try to put it on bank draft so you don't miss anymore the app won't allow you too! There stealing cars and want to blackmail you into signing documents so the can legally steal it! If enough people complain maybe federal trade will stop it! I was originally denied title loan due to not making enough money although I had plenty to cover payment every month and NO BILLS either & I possessed the title to car that was more than enough to make any place have no issue taking a chance on getting my car! Lol isn't that what they are there for? Anyway i wrote it off as oh well although and only answered 800loanMart on accident really from attempting to ask about a loan the first day. And HONESTLY IT WAS FASTER THAN I WOULD OF EVER GUESS POSSIBLE. 1/3 of the papers I had to have for all the local places were only needed, and I had all options available to me to send them since they are online company, and I mean I GOT TO PICTURE MESSAGE MY DOCUMENTS WITHOUGH HAVING TO LEAVE MY HOME EVEN FROM MY iPhone! Easy peasy, I was told where my money was going to be available to go get and sign my papers in a matter of minutes of taking call. I literally am shocked, I'm happy with all around the entire loan. I had so many options of the terms and my choice and received the lowest mo. payment Amt, highest $ amt I could borrow than anywhere of these local places I tried with first. Honestly it's all like too good to be typed type stuff but it's true and it's all good and 1800loanmart will go above and beyond helping and make it so the avg. person today actually has a chance to find some help. Are called their services earlier this morning and by 5:00 p.m. this evening they had cash being sent money gram to me I cannot be more Grateful for them doing what they could to get me the money I needed some my kids should have Christmas and I catch up on all my bills. My husband and I were super leery to borrow against one of our vehicles. We found these guys after searching for more of a collateral loan.
