If you want an overly-aggressive, super salesy, fast-talking, used car dealership type experience, these are your "every realtor in north Jersey recommends them" (but I have no idea why) by-default, go-to people. I spoke with 2 different reps over a 9 month period (basically tried switching reps to see if my experience was any different; it was not). They're all local NJ branches of a large mega-corp based out of California, so YMMV, but at least in the local Hoboken/JC/NYC metro area, there are a lot better options out there. Just call any established, well-rated, long-time traditional lender and you'll get much more low-pressure, personalized experienced than this chop-shop. Pretty sure everyone (including the most popular brokerages in Hoboken) just use them by default, either out of pure laziness/proximity or because "one hand washes the other," or simply from agents and clients not doing their own research to know that better options exist. Do your homework. There are plenty of better lenders out there. This is very much a "metro NYC experience," a rushed effort with little interest in actually taking the time to talk to you as a person, with a we-know-it-all, we're-the-best, just-trust-me-and-I'll-take-care-of-everything-and-how-dare-you-ask-me-questions attitude. Home buyers, you are not in the 5 boroughs anymore. This is New Jersey. Find a lender who will take time to thoughtfully and thoroughly explain all your options, answer your questions, give you a sense of the current market, and talk with you--not "at you" and over you. Tons of nicer and more patient, low-pressure lenders out there to deal with. And oh, BTW, their website is also clunky and buggy (couldn't even upload docs properly), and their rates were higher than most of their competitors too! P.S. I am closing on my condo this week, and it will definitely not be through loanDepot. Hard pass!!! read more

I have had a horrible experience with Loan Depot loan servicing. I have enabled the auto drafting of my monthly installment. For no reason the monthly installment has been drafted twice form my Bank account. I have been calling their customer support in New Jersey for some weird reason my loan account has been transferred to NJ. Firstly, they cannot explain why my on earth a double payment was debited to my account, once on 1 Feb and then again on 8th Feb. On top of that, my repeated requests for the refund of the amount have not been actioned upon. I am told by their agents on phone that it has been 'reversed' but only they understand what that means. Meanwhile since my bank account has been double dipped and I am incurring late payment penalties on other accounts. Feeling harassed. read more

Stay away!!!!! Would give negative rating if there was one. LoanDepot agent and unscrupulous company tactics...based on filling out a form online and a phone call where I inadvertantly gave them my ss# just to get mortgage rates. Got them, didn't like were too high said not interested. We hung up. Thought ok, done, next.... Fast forward 7 days later out of nowhere I get an email from the guy, a licensed NMLS, saying my application is ready for me to upload docs when a week earlier I told him on the phone I was NOT interested and we hung up. I don't need this headache or any unauthorized hits on my credit - have good credit. Stay far away from LoanDepot! read more

I had terrible experience with Mortgage broker Nancy DeNicola and her associate Kristyn Naegely. Too bad I trust my real estate broker to go with this company. Mortgage master use an incompetent background check company , called Kroll Factual Data which link you to many unrelated credit history data. It creates many obstacles throughout the application process. The broker was unable to provide any assistance to resolve the problem they create. Their associate keep asking the same paper work over and over again, the communication between them is a disaster. They often tell me I must do this and that, otherwise, I will not get approved with any loan. Even though I have 800 credit score, they still treat me like a third class citizen. My suggestion for you all is to go directly to the bank if you have decent credit scores. Stay away from Mortgage Master. read more

We're small time real estate investors who got hosed by another lender in NJ (see my other reviews for the company to avoid) ... we were left "high and dry" a few weeks before closing on a short sale - the property was a good deal, and we needed to close. Being "once bitten, twice shy" I called around and was referred to a few lenders, including these guys. Long story short: Baret Kechian and Mary K came through for us big time. Their pricing was competitive. They were prompt and nice and respectful and professional ... we've done about 10 real estate loans in the last decade or so, and Baret and his people were just the best - on the business points, and the human factors. No bs, fast. The purchase was slightly complex, and they closed the loan in less than a month ... they were just good. They seem to be a high volume shop that's professionally run and has great integrity. I recommend them whenever possible - they are solid, which is what you need for this kind of thing. read more

I had an unfortunate experience with one of the mortgage brokers with Mortgage Master. I reached out to a broker that I worked with previously and closed a loan on. After submitting paperwork, and agreeing to have my credit run, the mortgage rep decides to tell me that he did not want to work with me because on another prior deal, I did not choose his company. I felt that was highly unprofessional, and unethical, and possibly illegal. I was disappointed that he ran my credit, which put a hard inquiry on my report, and caused me to lose some credit score points. He should have been more forthcoming with me from the beginning if he did not want to work with me. Mind you, I have 740+ credit score. read more
