2 years ago we were so excited to buy our first apartment as a newlyweds and went straight to Chase bank for a loan thinking that since I am a bank customer for over 12 years and have perfect credit score of 800 it would be quick and easy. What a fool I was. After 2 months of sending same documents over and over, because processors were loosing it, creating countless explanation letters I was rejected 3 days before my contract expired. I got it extended for a month and needed to find a lender that will be able to close in less than a month. I came across Mortgage Master and Morgan Deutsch. I explained what happened and said we need to close in 3 weeks otherwise I would loose the apartment. She promised to deliver and she did. They were working on Saturday and Sunday to make it possible. Buying apartment is a lot of work and stress but Morgan made is so easy for us. She was always available and answered even the silliest question I had with patience and respect ( and I can be a pain in a neck with my questions). We even got better rate that what Chase offered!. We closed in 3 weeks with no issues. Just last week we closed another apartment with Morgan's help. I went directly to her to save myself from stress and misery. Yet again the team did a wonderful job! Morgan went even further and recommencement legitimate company to help fix my husbands credit score. She gave us credit towards it so not only he has a better score now but also that gave us extra savings on lower interest rate and cost us nothing compare to benefits! We also planned our vacation at the time not realizing that we might not close before it. And that's exactly what happened but leave it to Morgan!! She organized everything so we could close by Power of attorney without being present at closing! We enjoy our vacation while they work hard to close our apartment . Another success without any hiccups! This is my very first review ever and I only do that because I am truly grateful to Morgan and her team for a wonderful job they did both times!!!! I have no relations to her or anybody at Mortgage Master and that is my honest opinion on this business. Highly recommended!!! Thank you Morgan!! read more

I was referred to Rick Martino of Loan Depot on my recent home purchase in Bay Ridge and he did a great job. I was coming in with 10 percent down and was unwilling to go with a loan that required a PMI payment and he was able to locate an 80-10 loan for me that eliminated PMI and also got me in at 4.25%, which he locked in for me ahead of the Fed raising rates which has since increased rates nearly 50 basis points. It was a 1m+ plus loan so every basis point counts and I am not one to get involved with ARM loans, so a Jumbo 30 yr fixed was the only option I was ok with. We had a few complications along the way as I was planning on pulling out money on a property I own in San Francisco for the down payment, however we were given a terrible appraisal which gave my rental property a below market value estimate (massive fail). However, Rick helped me fight this ridiculous estimate which was literally 200k below comp sales. In the end, the appraisal company stupidly would not budge but Rick worked to help find an alternate solution to help me get out of renting in NYC and into home ownership. The deal I did ended up being a very niche 80-10 30 yr fixed + HELOC loan and I don't know if I would have been able to find this anywhere else. He was always responsive and helped me get the deal done. read more

I can't say enough good things about Adam Dahill and his team -- such excellent service, so professional, communicative and FAST. We had been working w another mortgage broker and that deal went bust 3 days before closing, which was totally devastating we thought we might lose the apartment. Our friends recommended Adam and we contacted him to find out what would be possible. He replied to us immediately and quickly gave us a rough timeline of what he could do. We were a little traumatized by the big talk of our previous broker so we were very nervous that the timeline was a little optimistic, however, he not only was able to hit every deadline, he was able to get us to close a few days before the 30 day deadline AND get us a lower rater than we had originally! The process of applying was also much simpler and straightforward than we had w another broker. He and his team were very aware of our bad experience and reassured us every step of the way that things were on track. Now we have our dream apartment and we are so happy and relieved! Transparent, professional, communicative, reliable, good rates and FAST--what more can you ask from a mortgage broker???? Call him! read more

My husband and I can't express how happy we are that we chose Mortgage Masters! We were referred to Justin Schiatta at Mortgage Masters by a good friend. We are first time homebuyers and we had NO idea what to expect or what steps to take on applying for a mortgage. Justin was so nice to take the time out of his busy day to phone conference with me and explain every step from A to Z and he answered all the questions I had, and I had a lot!! He was very patient and explained everything to me in terms I would understand! LOL. We started the process and Justin worked very hard to get us a low interest rate, and he succeeded! Once the process began, Justin welcomed us to his team that we would be dealing with. Let me tell you, his team was so responsive, got back to us through email right away and answered any questions we had. Many people we spoke to warned us about how long and sometimes grueling the process is to obtain a loan. But I must say, my husband and I did not feel overwhelmed, rushed, or stressed at all through this process. Justin and his team made this process smooth for us and we are so grateful. We HIGHLY recommend Mortgage Masters. read more

Peter Costakos is knowledgeable and professional. We had been trying to refinance multiple times for two years without success. The last time was with Chase; we even had a closing date and the loan officer informed us that the deal was off. We gave up on the idea of refinancing to a lower interest rate until my wife stumbled upon mortgage master on Yelp. Peter assured us that the process should be pretty easy and simple. We skeptically listened to him and submitted requested documents. We started the paperwork at the end July and by the end of September, the loan was approved and ready for closing. My closing was delayed for almost one month due to Ocwen, my ex-lender. Peter was amazing!!! he was able to give us an extension without jeopardizing the deal and additional fee!! unheard of with conventional banks. The whole process was seamless. It was surreal by the time we were sitting at the closing table. I highly recommend Peter to anyone who is looking to buy a home or refinancing as he can make your journey stress and worry free every step of the way. One last note, the rate is better than what Chase had offered!!! read more

My husband and I relocated from one part of Jersey to another. Luckily, we got an offer for our then current home, much sooner than we had expected. So we had to rush to find a new place at the new neighborhood. We had put multiple offers in a very short period of time since we had to move out by the closing date of the old house. Loan Depot was able to accommodate with us for all the last minute pre-approvals, advises, etc. WE were fortunate to have one of our offers accepted. Our case loan manager, Rafael Bellber, was such a great help with the entire closing process. He has reached out to ALL of the parties involved, called /texted me multiple times a date to make sure we have all the necessary paper works done, and was trying harder than we did, to make sure we can close on time. Even after we have closed the house and moved in, he was still reaching out to us to make sure everything is going well with us. We couldn't have asked for a better loan company and loan manager. we are constantly recommending them to our friends that are looking to buy a house. Thumbs up! read more

I live in Greenpoint, Brooklyn and went to Loan Depot in Williamsburg due to their good reviews and because it is nearby. I wanted to refinance my old mortgage since my interest rate was too high. My previous mortgage broker told me that she could not get me a better rate, and stopped returning my calls. It was fate and my good fortune that I found Loan Depot. Thanks to the hard work, persistence and creative thinking of Justin and his staff (Stefanie and Carol), they found me a loan at a better rate and helped ease the process of getting it approved. They "went the extra mile" on my behalf. Everything went seamlessly and smoothly. In addition to that, it was a pleasure working with them. Justin, Stefanie and Carol were great! They are personable, professional, honest and thorough. I felt like I was working with friends. Justin and his team at Loan Depot succeeded after my previous mortgage broker gave up! I am forever grateful to them. I highly recommend them, since there's no greater recommendation than success. read more

Both Hisham and Brittany were very helpful and easy to work with for my straight refi (no cash out). Hisham's demeanor and upbeat character were wonderful and much needed. He listened to the goals I wanted to achieve and answered my many questions regarding the various types of loans I wanted to explore as well as the multiple loan rate options. He also did his best to insure that everything he committed to during our initial conversations was represented in the end result of the transaction. Additionally, the cash back to me at closing was higher than what I was originally told to expect. I double-checked with my previous mortgage holder to insure that the payout for that loan was received and got confirmed that it was done with no issues. My expectations were surpassed by Hisham, Brittany and Loan Depot (the company). The process was extremely easy and from start to closing was very quick (about 4 weeks). And best of all my mortgage decreased by $305/mo! read more

Christopher Albanese is a superstar! I wanted to refinance and he was recommended to me by a real estate agent friend whose advice I really trust. He was extremely patient with my barrage of questions (many of them repeated or a bit silly) and gave me all the time and information I needed to feel comfortable in order to move forward with each step. He secured me an EXCELLENT rate (my home-owning friends are all super jealous) and - get this - even made the process enjoyable! You heard me right. He's a great guy, great at his job and fun to deal with. Now that I'm set up with my 15 (!) year mortgage and some extra cash lying around, we're working on a new home investment loan. I definitely recommend Chris be your first call for all your mortgage needs. Top tip: if you call by the Lorimer office you might be lucky enough to meet Dexter, Chris's dog a.k.a the cutest puppy in the world. read more

James Kroll (Jim) has been a guiding light in my life for the past year. Literally from our first conversation a year ago today. He patiently guided me through the entire process mortgage process. He is the best. I tried to purchase a home 2x before; as a young African woman, and an independent contractor to boot... I've been told all the reasons why I wouldn't get a mortgage. It runs the gamut :my income isn't solid enough, too many variances et al. Jim calmly listened to all my fears and step by step walked me through the process. Paired with Katara, I felt completely supported and 100% in capable and competent hands. Found a new place 6 months into my search and from the moment we said go, I felt confident they would make this happened for me... and cut to now....I'm the proud over of a little slice of heaven. read more

I did a refi with Loan Dept on my home of ten years. This was only the third time we have financed a home in the past 30 years or so. The response and service to all of my inquiries were handled timely and in a very professional matter starting with my first contact Brian A. and then with the loan processor Scott C. Both were well versed and walked me through the process step by step as if it was my first time. They both made it very easy because of the knowledge and expertise my loan officers had. I was always informed via e-mail or phone of the progress of the applications and alerted of any issues or potential holdups. I was recently contacted with a service call by Loan Depot. They say timing is everything. I am currently looking to now finance a new purchase. I expect the same level of service as the last one. read more

We just bought our dream home 3 months ago, here in Crestwood, Westchester, and it was all made possible by Dean Curtis and his " LoanDepot" excellent team.. Dean is extremely knowledgeable and passionate on what he does. The house we just bought, our dream house turned out to be desired by many buyers, making the deal more difficult for us. We got to the point that we were about to give up. Dean and his great team came to the rescue; he always has a solution, plan B. I can't say enough about our experience with Dean. Dean is the mortgage mastermind, he is very knowledgeable about financing options, he is very quick, very professional and he reaches out to his clients, making sure that their needs are covered on the best way possible. I would recommend Dean and loanDepot to anyone who's looking for a new mortgage. read more

Simply, as good as it gets. I found Mortgage Master on Yelp, called and was connected with Nicole McCarthy. She was an absolute ROCKSTAR from the very beginning. I was a first time home buyer, Nicole patiently explained the process, walked me through it, was an ally when complications arose, and most importantly kept on top of the process the entire time. My favorite thing about Nicole is her response time to questions. During the process there is constant chatter which needs to be monitored. Nicole always is fast at responding to emails and calls, but when I was about to make a critical error, she was on the phone and email chain instantly. Like a good lawyer, Nicole McCarthy is someone you definitely want on your home buying team. read more

I was fortunate enough to have Steven Liu as my guy. He was so professional and never lost his patients with my wife and I when we started talking with another lender. Obviously we ended up staying with Loan Depot. Steven was always straight forward and honest with us. You company has a great asset with him. Also you have another outstanding employee Pary Parks very fast, efficient and professional. I wish a had a combo team like that on my staff!!! Will be recommending you guys to anyone I know looking for the services you provide. I also will tell them to insist on having Steven and Pary handle their loan. They are an amazing team. Adam Dahill, Steve Slattery and Rob LePanto are awesome problem solvers in every way. In a process that can be fraught with stress, frustration and complication, this team stepped up, presented great solutions (not just one but several,) and wasted no time making sure they were all efficiently executed. The average response time to an email or call was minutes. (Anyone who's ever been in the market for a mortgage, especially in NY, knows how crucial that is.) They were always helpful, always honest, always personable, and they got us an excellent rate to boot. The word I'm looking for overall really is PROFESSIONAL. These gentlemen are true pros. Go with them. read more

Potentional borrowers beware. They talk a big game but made big time mistakes on our refi. We got a better APR and we're promised it would lower our payment. 6 months in they found out they forgot to include our county taxes so then our payments went up 350.00 per month. When questioned about the mistake that was made they said it was our responsibility to ensure they did their jobs correctly. I have a hard time swallowing the fact they charged us approx 10,000 in closing cost for doing their job , but it's my job to make sure they did their job correctly. What was the closing cost for, making mistakes. As soon as APR reduce we're leaving these crooks. read more

I used Peter Lucia from Mortgage Master for my 1st mortgage in 2005 and was so satisfied, I just completed my 2nd mortgage with him. Peter Lucia and his assistant Stacey Napolitano, are hands down the most knowlegeable and proffesional brokerage team out there. I come from the banking industry and realize what a difficut job they have. They were efficient and organized, returning all my calls and getting me the best rates possible. Their competition cannot hold a candle to them! In this day and age when every bank looks for reasons to say "no" Mortgage Master says "yes". Thank you for all your hard work! read more

I enjoyed working with Mike and Aaron at LoanDepot. They were extremely knowledgeable in the product, process, and particulars. Answering questions timely and accurately, we were able to progress through our refinancing within a matter of what seemed like days. Start to finish, I honestly think was less than three weeks! What I enjoyed most, was the ability to reach out to them by email or phone and receive timely responses. That just doesn't happen with many other companies I have worked with on-line. Who gives out their direct phone numbers any more? These guys!! read more
