UPDATE! 10/31/17 ---------------------…read moreIt's been only a year and my roof is leaking! I called another roofing company and turns out that my skylight and chimney NEVER had flashing on them!! These fools clearly didn't know the process nor did the guys that came to say my roof was "completed". They cut corners at the customer's expense and have never left me with a secure feeling that my roof is completely installed. I'm updating this because I have a feeling that these crooks are scum out again trying to scam Harvey victims!!! STAY AWAY FROM THEM! --------------------- My wife and I had them replace our roof. Well, the day workers that they hired to do the job... Don't be fooled by the polo shirts that they custom ordered to give the perception that they are a "company". These guys are certainly not. They're just talkers and know how much time and energy to spend to win your contract. After that, its up to you to do the rest of THEIR job... We made that mistake and hope you learn from our experience. From claims of BBB's A+ ratings (unreliable) & Angie's List (paying members only) to a reliable crew, it was nothing close to what was promised...just diminishing service. Problems encountered: - Lack of a concrete schedule: After paying them, I asked for the job to start on a weekday because my weekends were already booked. I was scheduled for Monday, then got pushed to a Wednesday due to upcoming rain in the forecast. A few days BEFORE the job started (Friday), my contact called and pressured me into freeing up that weekend (Saturday & Sunday) because a job freed up and with Autumn right around the corner they did not know how far back the jobs would be pushed back if I didn't allow them to do the job. - Lack of communication: The crew was supposed to show up between 8-9am, they didn't. They showed up between 1-3pm. The contact and the owner/project manager of the company (Quentin) didn't even know the status of the crew until I called to complain! - Unprofessional: The crew they sent never told me (well they didn't even speak english) when they were done for the day. All 3 nights, I had to step outside to see whether they're leaving or not and when were they coming back. They used my backyard as their tool storage, which is fine...but at least let me know! Especially if you wake up to somebody with a flashlight in your backyard around 5AM looking for tools for another job!! - Broken promises: Because of all the rescheduling, my boss was pretty frustrated with my constant reschedule. These guys promised to finish by a certain date and was 2 days off! Why? Simply because when the job was 85% complete they end up sending ONE guy for the last 15%...which ended up taking more of my time off... In conclusion, don't go with these jokers. They are thieves and liars that hire day workers to complete the job. Oh ya...and they can't even communicate to their workers because most of the roofers speak Spanish!

Found 1st choice roofing and hired to fix sections of my roof less than a year ago (June 2024). In…read moreaddition to the repair cost, they charged $700 for it being a 3 story home and another $600 for the pitch angle. At the time when the repair was being done, the speed at which they were working was a little concerning. This was due to the fact that I was sold on replacing all vents on the roof as well but witness the technicians leave without doing so. They came back soon after me contacting the project manager that I only only saw them go up with a bundle of shingles before and proceeded to complete the vent replacements. Once they completed the repairs, I contacted the project manager again and asked for drone footage of the repairs so I could compare them to the initial inspection photos. He then got offensive stating that his technicians were risking their lives in order to repair my roof and kept saying they stand by their workmanship and provide a 1 year warranty. I started to suspect the project manager did not fully explain to the technicians on what to repair and only repaired the obvious damage and not the improperly installed shingles the project manager sold me on to repair. Fast forward to today (April 2025), sections of my roof have shingles blowing off again which are photographed in the initial inspection last year. I contacted 1st choice to start a warranty claim and was soon told they can warranty shingles they replaced but the ones that were missed a few feet away is considered new damage and had to be treated at such. I told them ok, please get me an estimate on the repair and we can proceed with the warrantied areas. After receiving the estimate, they again charged the 3 story fee and pitch angle fee even though they will be going up to repair the warrantied areas anyways because it is "to be treated as new damage" while also stating on the estimate that they no longer can warranty any repairs because of the build material. I would not have found out my roof was damaged if I didn't switch insurance company and they send an inspector out to look at my roof. Missed agreed upon repairs and damaged repairs they are hesitant to fix. If they are currently working on your home, make sure you have footage of the completed agreed repairs after. If you're considering, make sure you have everything documented to cover yourself cause they are for sure covering themselves.
