We went inside, Mike the salesman walks up and asked how to help…read more I explained I needed either a new trundle bed that fits two twins and is same height level for each mattress or we plant a regular twin frame that had drawers on one side but no headboard or foot board. He gave us a attitude about the mattress because after being asked three times by him "are you SURE you don't want a new one" "can't you just take a look at mine" him then turning to my husband on his last effort "what about you do you think she'd need a new mattress?" I got annoyed and said "we do not need a mattress we need either a frame of trundle/day bed, that's it." He rolled his eyes and let out a sigh while going "fine". I told him I wanted it only in white and after him asking if what he showed me (a studded medium to light grey trundle that just wasn't what we wanted) looked good. I told him "It's not a light enough color for the room, like I said, we need white to match the rest in the room." He gave me a dirty look and raised his voice at me stating "Seriously?! How is THIS not light enough? So your walls are white? Your ceiling? Your floors? Your furniture? Your doors? ALL white?" By this point we got angry and felt disrespected. He brings us to these beds that are again not what we want and he gave more disgruntled noises rolling his eyes (keep in mind he appeared to be in his late 50's-60's) then when he saw me look at the kids section (where they had twins sized frames) he stated with a chuckle "No you don't want those, they're for childish people" and brought us to a pull out couch. He "demonstrates" stating "and you don't even have to be strong to lift this up!" And pulls it out stating "sit" pointing to it. We declined. He says again "sit" we say again "no you were okay" he says a third time "well this is how you decide if you want it and this is where people sit down so...sit". By this point I'm fed up and so is my husband. He tells Mike "you know what we're going to shop around and leave". Mike insists we get pricing on it (and as a former sales person at a car dealership I knew this is how they get your info) we said again "no thanks" he insisted and got visibly angered and gritted his teeth saying "well ya know that's my business card and how you know who I am so you need to do it". Finally I have enough and tell him "we don't need it have a good day" and we left. Worst part is, I actually saw a frame I liked, but hey, guess since it's for "childish" people only (which is precisely what he is) he won't mind not getting paid on it.

I've been to the Toms River, Hamilton, Lawrenceville, and Old Bridge stores. Toms River is my favorite of the 3 and Old Bridge my least favorite. Sometimes I find great deals and sometimes I don't. You do have to know your prices though because there have been items I passed on things due to knowing I could do better elsewhere. They used to have Pantene shampoo often at lowest price anywhere but I haven't seen that in a while. I got a better deal on a brand new Hamilton Beach K-Cup coffee maker there a couple of years back which was cheaper than Amazon and Walmart at the time. Don't go with expectations and just look thru the whole store. I always leave with several items even if they weren't a thought in my mind prior to walking in.

I feel this location is well organized and offers great decor for all seasons. During Covid, they are limiting number of customers inside the store and carts are sanitized. Masks required. There are also arrows to help with flow. There are lines outside at peak times. It's usually crowded on rainy days. I decided to sign up for the TJMaxx card so I can finally earn some rewards... tip: opens 11 am on Sundays. So if you go to the mall by mistake (mall opens at Noon) you can drive over to HG to fill the time and find something you need (or don't need) :)

We always enjoy ourselves while We r shopping. The store is always clean people are very friendly and so much cool stuff to buy. Today had to be the greatest experience. There was a phenomenal employee Kristi. I don't know if she's a manager, if she's not she should be. Kristi went above and beyond customer service. I had bought a wreath that faded shortly after I bought it. I brought it back to return. I had taken the tag off it and brought the wrong receipt. At first they would not be able to credit me. Then I said I would take it home no worries Kristi gave me a bag for it while I was continuing to shop. As I went on shopping Kristi chased after me found one on the shelf and refunded my money it was only $15 but the quality of customer care out of her was amazing. Very refreshing. Me being in the service industry myself I really appreciate it. GREAT help is hard to find. THANK YOU KRISTI. MADE OUR DAY!!!
