anyone who takes his/her car to this place BEWARE! I took my 96 implala ss to this guy Lee and he could not find the problem with my car. the quote to figure out the problem was $1200, I was like, you are telling me to figure out a problem with the car is $1200! he was obviously trying to rip me off! I told him I was going to pick up my car, he wanted to charge me for diagnostics, I asked him "if you did diagnostics can you tell me the problem?" he basically did not do anything. I picked up my car and found out that he took off the center cover from the front right wheel, took off the spindle nut, and put the nut back on to mess up the threading! this guy is a dirty mechanic!! If I could I'd give LJ Automotive 10 stars! About halfway through my 3 and a half hour drive to Santa Barbara to see my Teddy and her lil Cub, my car broke down. I pulled over on the 14 and called my insurance company. They would supply a tow truck and asked if I had a preferred auto place. "Where am I?" I asked. The friendly customer representative said,"How about LJ automotive? They're about 3 miles away." "Sure" I replied, thinking that I didn't really have a choice anyway. I don't know which automotive god I appeased but I certainly did something right to be blessed with Lee and his services! He knew right away that it was my alternator and did the search to find a new one. About 15 minutes later, he received a delivery. I asked him how long it would take to get the part, thinking we were looking at days and I'd have to leave my car at least overnight. "That was your alternator" Wha what?!?! Move the eff over Dominos, here comes LJ Automotive and their part delivery hot and fresh in less than 30min! While Lee replaced my alternator, he showed his time efficiency by charging my battery. I waited and enjoyed some classic rock while in the presence of one of the cutest shop guard dogs ever. Everything was said and done faster than two shakes of a lamb's tail and I was out and on my merry way. Labor costs were more than reasonable, and he even more securely attached the nose of my 2007 Yaris for free! I think I was so in awe of the entire splendidness of the situation, I didn't mind that I may have scratched the bottom of my driver's side door on the way out. (Proper vehicle backing is not my forté) If I didn't live almost 2 hours away, I'd make LJ Automotive my go-to place for anything in my life auto-related. i was driving on the freeway from Long Beach on my way to Lancaster to my sisters house when i got a flat tire. Me being alone i began to look for my car jack and realized i had a piece of my jack missing meaning I wouldn't be able to change my tire no one stop to help and it was getting late almost 6pm. I decided to get off and ride down the street and it was empty and i pulled over incase someone would help and nothing. I then proceeded to go down the road and found LJ Automotive i asked the gentleman if he could help me and he then said they didn't do tires there and he then asked if i had the spare to which I responded i did he then got up and helped me out by changing out my tire. I was so grateful because not only did he change my tire for me he also didn't charge me a dime. i work a part time and i also attended school. This summer i have been unemployed so all i had was 25 dollars to my name and i was willing to pay it for help. This gentleman was so kind i held back my tears of how grateful i was because it was like he knew my situation. I have been going there for long time with my cars. Sometimes takes a few days. About 1 1/2 yr ago, I needed to get a new air conditioner. My friends kept telling to take to another company that they go to because it's cheaper and they had service with their cars Well, I did- got the brand new air conditioner. And then proceeded to take it back 3 times because it wasn't cooling and Freon was leaking. I took the car to LJ, he checked and found the leak. Fixed and blowing cold air--so happy. This company is busy at times, but I won't take it to anyone else. read more

This morning on our way to Mammoth, while pulling our travel trailer, several brake indicators appeared on our truck dashboard. We pulled off the freeway and called the nearest auto repair, which happened to be LJ Automotive. We explained the situation to Lee and he told us that he wasn't officially open yet, but that he'd be happy to check it out. We drove over and were quickly met by Lee. He hooked our truck up to a diagnostic machine, and assured us that our problem appeared to be a sensor issue and not a brake issue. Lee was friendly, professional, and definitely what this family needed to get back on the road and headed to their vacation. Thanks again Lee! read more

Like the previous post, I would give Lee 10 stars if I could. It was the day before Christmas Eve and we were on our way to mammoth when we noticed blue smoke coming out of the exhaust. Lee graciously offered to look at the car even though it was a Sunday and told us that we had likely blown the head gasket and couldn't drive the car anymore. He was patient with us as we got the car towed to los Angeles Angeles secured a rental. I don't know what we would have done without him. He helped us out of a real jam!! read more

I can't express my gratitude enough! I had to tow my truck in for the most embarrassing of reasons (diesel in a regular truck - long story) and Lee handled it SO WELL. He made me feel MUCH better right off the bat, despite the stressful situation. He took care of the truck, and I was on my way in less then 2 hours, just in time to take care of what I needed! Great place!!! This has been the best place I have found. I have been looking for a good shop for years. I have not found any cons about this place. They have treated me and my family incredibly well! They are very honest, very reasonable on pricing, and the work that I have seen is great. They have never skipped a beat to keep me informed and point out thing on my car and truck that I might want or need to know. I have had my wife's van, my commuter car, and my truck. I will continue to use this shop even thou they are a ways from where I live (34 miles from my house), I still find it well worth it!! I highly recommend!!!!! read more
