I did a toilet leak test and found no leaks. Nothing else on the property showed a leak. I called the water department and they were less than helpful. Despite our bill going DOWN after turning ON our sprinkler system, they insisted there was a leak. Matthew's Plumbing sent two guys out who listened to the story, checked the meter as I did, checked the crawl space (no leaks) and listened to me complain about the water department. I was expecting to pay $200+, instead they only charged me $75. These people are honest. I was upset enough that I would have paid the $200 or more had they asked me to do so. Today's visit is why I'll keep doing business with them.

Well my toilets started gurgling and then moved on to not flushing and the kitchen sink wasn't draining. In a panic I started calling plumbers and everyone was busy. 1st Class Plumbing said they could make it out the next day. Shortly after I spoke to them they called back to say they could make it that day later in the afternoon. The Zack and Will were prompt and got immediately to work. Turns out they had worked for the former owner when he flipped the house and told me they replaced all the plumbing. They had to work really hard on a very stubborn clog that ended up being wipes and paper towels backed up almost all the way to the street where my line meets the municipal line. Evidently during construction someone was using the toilet as a trash can. They cleaned it out completely and cleaned up the mess made while fixing the line. Superior service for a very fair price for all the work they did. Bad job by Keen Plumbing. They installed a water heater…read moreincorrectly. It was supposed to have an energy blanket wrapped around it BEFORE it was installed. It went under the counter next to an outside wall. The whole purpose of the energy blanket is to cut the cost of electricity used by the water heater. To make matters worse, they said they could put it on after the install but found out they couldn't and just left the mess in the kitchen and walked out. They also damaged my countertop and refused to replace it. All they had to do was replace the Formica. Then they overcharged me for the water heater. They quoted me $700 but I ended up paying $835 I spoke with Mr. John Casey (owner?) and he was very disagreeable. He flat out refused to replace the countertop, it is only 80". I talked with him on and off during the day while the job was going on. He was totally unwilling to do the job right and said unless I wanted to pay for more labor at $115/hr. it was not going to happen. I am also hurt that he took it out on his workers. So I have a water heater that sits next to the outside wall, and a broken countertop that will cost us about $150-$200 to replace. I had to pay them when they were ready to leave because he was threatening to continue to charge me more labor.
