I finally mustered the courage to take that big step and schedule a consultation appointment.  If I don't start sometime and somewhere, I'll always be wondering.  After careful research online, I narrowed my best options to "The Plastic Surgery Center of Sacramento".  In the past I had been a long time patient of the Medical Spa within the same facility.  So I felt like this would be a reputable and reliable place to go. I had to fill out several pages of new patient paperwork which you access online and bring with you to the appointment.  The consultation fee is $100.00 and expected in advance at the time of scheduling.  If you decide to have your procedure performed, the fee is included with your completed surgery costs as long as it is done within the next 3 months. When arriving at the medical building, you will notice that parking is directly across the street.   Upon entering the glass doors, I was greeted by friendly staff and made comfortable.  The interior is very nice and well maintained.  I enjoyed seeing the lovely and relaxing Koi pond that is viewable through the glass of the reception area.  There was very little waiting time before I was escorted to an exam room.   I didn't feel rushed during my consultation, as we discussed my concerns and aging issues. The surgery details were explained along with expected results. After the session, I was escorted to another office where estimates were quoted, paperwork signed, and financing options offered.  I must admit, I felt a bit overwhelmed.  It was a lot to take in, but they never pressured me into making a decision and I was not made to feel obligated.   After getting through the initial shock of how much it was all going to cost, I felt like I needed to take a step back for now, accept reality and the fact that I'm getting old, and start playing the lottery........ At least the Medical Spa will be a good back up!

She immediately made me feel like she cared about me and had my best interests at heart. I just had my first mohs surgery with her and it went way better than I anticipated. The surgery was extremely quick and relatively painless. There was a very short time to wait while the tissue sample was being examined which is a huge positive with mohs surgery. She did an amazing job with the closure and the stitches were done beautifully. After the procedure, I received a phone call check on me. During the next 10 years after the procedure my septum slowly collapsed and I had to have an ENT repair it. The ENT said it is unfortunately common that they have to repair work from a plastic surgeon. They've fixed the back end, but the nose tip still bends left almost identical to the pictures below. I'm incredibly self conscious about it and hate most pictures taken of me head on because you can see it bend. I am getting a consult from another surgeon next month who I hope can fix the tip and give me my confidence back. Dr. Clark may do good body work but do not see him for your face!

We had to split the full…read moreprocedure (AbEX, laser lipo of waist, hips, and pubic) into 2 sessions which was mildly disappointing but honestly so appreciated. My dr numbed aggressively which is why we had to split into two sessions...it ultimately came down to he wanted me to be comfortable for the procedure so he could do what he needed to do. The procedure itself was only mildly uncomfortable. No pain. Only the awkward discomfort of internal vibrating while he performed the numbing and lipo process. The maneuvering myself side to side on the table was also not painful. Once in a while I would feel a brief zing feeling that lasted for only a second and then was gone but overall, I carried conversation easily with him and the nurse the entire time. The recovery has been good as well. I feel like I've done the most intense oblique workout of my life, but otherwise it's more deep tissue soreness than pain. The dr told me I had deep stubborn fat when he started so this was to be expected. Nonetheless I was down the day of the procedure, loopy from meds but was up and interacting with family all weekend after. I did take it easy, resting when necessary and not lifting anything heavy. I tend to push my body too aggressively in healing so it's important to slow down and listen to yours. The first shower was challenging as I was just hesitant with my muscle tightness and soreness and the tiny incision points but everything went well. Overall step 1 of 2 went well and I am as hopeful for part two -- the actual AbEX and such. The team was great. The dr and nurses were supportive and helpful the entire way and the dr took time to continuously ask how I was doing throughout the procedure which I appreciated. Whatever horror stories you've heard before, don't believe them all. Everyone has their own experience and mine so far has been very good here so far. Will update after final procedure in 3 weeks for continued real-time feedback of this location, procedure, and prcoesses.
