I didn't realize how unhappy I was with the vibe at my old barber until I stepped through the door here and felt right at home. Everybody actually enjoys being here, and that's contagious. Ethan did my cut, and he was super nice about talking it through with me before getting going, and spent time getting it exactly right, and even helping me out with styling pointers. I was happy with the cuts (if not the vibe) at my prior place, but now that I've had a chance to wash it, style it myself, and wear it for the day, it's definitely a cut above (pardon the pun) what I was getting at my prior place. Can't recommend him highly enough. Just an A+ across the board for making a new customer feel welcome, having a great environment, and giving a great haircut. Oh yeah, and it was $5 less for the cut than I was paying at my last place to boot.

The haircuts were good, so I kept coming back to her. Tuesdays her prices were $40, which was affordable, now I find out that it has increased exponentially to $100! It is not within my budget, and they don't offer senior discounts either. The service responses are automated as well.I WAS a client, not any longer.

This is the first stylist review I've ever written. That's mostly because no one, not in 40 years,…read morehas given me a cut and style that was worthy of a review. That ends here. Lynette, owner of "He Says She Says Hair Studio" in Hamden is a styling savant...she just knows. I'd read the other reviews here & was desperate one afternoon bc of an upcoming trip, so I gave it a shot and called. In 20 minutes I was in her chair, clueless and stressed. Hair decisions can be a real freakout but Lynette is so calming & reassuring. She's so skilled that my "I have no idea" became the starting point for a fresh look. She magically came up with a new cut that was perfect. It wasn't insane, in fact it was basically in concept the same general style I'd always worn. But way better. Sleeker, more class! No one has come up with anything new for me in 25 years that worked. I'm into my third cut with Ms L and every one has the same extremely pleasant private feel that is its own selling point for the salon. Where can you find a high quality salon that's private & quiet? Nowhere but He Says She Says. fact, all three times Lunette has styled me I was the only one there. I think, working alone, she schedules it that way on purpose to give each client undivided attention. I certainly wouldn't have been able to handle the typical noisy hair place with my need for calm consideration to come up with something great. I simply cannot say enough about Lynette and He Says She Says. She's the best & I recommend her without question. Oh yes, HER PRICES ARE GREAT, much more competitive than any other Salon or Studio of this high quality. Girls, I'd pick her for a "prom do" or color, or maybe a special style for a wedding or formal function, any special occasion.

Lynnette is always perfect with styling and is very friendly and personable always has good…read moreflexible schedule for appointments. Very easy to text or call to setup appointments! Highly recommend

I receive more continuous compliments about the haircut from everyone each time I get it cut, including strangers. When asked where and I say "Supercuts" they give me the . You Gotta see Kelsey. I had a very nice experience when being asked what brought me in to the salon, the lady behind the counter was incredibly kind. Super polite and had a radiant smile on her face. My hair was a hot mess - different lengths and all over the place. I needed a touch up aka fixed. Hence my reasoning for coming to SuperCuts. The stylist who did my hair was nice, for the most part. Here is what got me upset and quite disappointed.. She thought cutting my hair short (above by ear short) would be the best option. No, absolutely not. I've had short hair in the past. Those days are gone, no more. So the stylist fixed my hair and it was sitting right under my ears and I was so happy with the results. I don't want it cut any shorter. Well, that didn't last long. What I didn't want happening took place. The stylist asked me what I thought and I replied with "I like it, I really like it" with a fake grin. My mind was all over the place and I couldn't process my thoughts at that moment. Yes I was frustrated but couldn't get myself to say it. I'm truly disappointed with the outcome. People gawk and make fun of me. I'm embarrassed. Nobody should have to feel that way about their hair whatsoever. To top it off, questioning the person I was with about his family was uncalled for. Why should he disclose any information to people he doesn't know? Not okay! I will NEVER set foot in this SuperCuts location again, EVER!!

Back in the day when I was young and impressionable, my mother told me that only Korean people…read moreunderstand how to cut Korean hair. For this reason, I have had more than one fobulous perm/dye job/you name it. I have also learned over time that my hair - dark, thin, and straight - doesn't require that much expertise to handle. Regardless, I find comfort in Korean hair salons, and am living proof of the efficacy of brainwashing. So when I found Park Jun on Orange around the same time that my bangs were going rogue, I decided to break my no-haircuts-in-New-Haven rule and see what happened. The space is clean, well-kept, and pretty open, with most of the interior visible through windowed walls from outside. I walked in and the lady on duty, who I suspect is the owner as there was no one else around, asked if I could wait for a little bit while she finished up with another customer (a male of, I suspect, the Korean persuasion, who minutes later had a spiffy haircut). I didn't wait long. I asked for a basic cut, and that's what I got. Shampoo, cut, blow-dry and all took twenty minutes or so, and cost a reasonable $40. Or was it $30? Shit, there go my "Useful" votes. The lady was very friendly and asked me questions about myself as if she were actually interested. She didn't judge me for my totally worthless language skills either. The one thing that I did find pretty funny was that I left the place with my hair styled almost exactly like hers, kind of straight with the ends curled in, and not a whole lot like mine when I walked in. It didn't matter though, as it washed back to normal, and I was happy with the cut. I'm glad I found this place and I'll be back again for East Coast hair maintenance.
