During the COVID shutdowns, the center was very flexible and showed exceptional willingness to with work families who were financially impacted. The teachers and staff at the Ark are exceptionally caring and compassionate. They are phenomenal teachers but also just amazing caregivers. If you are looking for a cold, institutional feeling childcare center, this is not the place for you. The Ark feels more like a family. I've watched several children, mine included, greet their teachers with hugs in the morning, and I've seen teachers brushing and braiding little girls' hair. Small details like that show me how much passion the teachers have for their jobs and love they have for the students. Academically, my child has excelled. He is excited about learning and has picked up some impressive social and emotional skills. The center itself is not fancy or state of the art, but it always smells clean (like soap) and they have excellent age appropriate books, toys, and supplies in each room. The only thing I can say that's less than positive is that the Ark routinely as a long waitlist, so if you are looking to join them, you may need to plan ahead by a few months.

The location is an adults only YMCA and caters to the active seniors community. I've only visited one occasion thus far to check it out and I (mid 40's) was on the youthful side. The facility is in the excellently refurbished West Bend Company factory. There's a nearby coffee shop for the post workout and/or Tochi Ramen. There are plenty of workout machines and free weights in a comfortable atmosphere. The locker rooms are spacious & maintained nicely. Unlike the main Y branch you do need to provide your own lock, but with the age of the clientele I don't envision theft from lockers is much of a thing here. The shower stalls provide about twice the space in comparison to the main Y branch. The facility offers a sauna in the locker room. There is no pool or whirlpool. I hope a whirlpool is considered in any future expansion as I think it would fit in well with the adults only theme. The facility offers programming similar to the main Y branch, albeit in a smaller scale. A great downtown location and West Bend is lucky to be home to two YMCA facilities.

What if someone got hurt? Also did the teacher really see it happen and wouldn't they stop it if it did? I paid all this money for him to be well taken care of and apparently no one cares! Why couldn't the teacher tell me when I go to pick up my child that something like this happened before I had to find out from my child! He use to love going but he didn't want to go anymore. Right after I brought this up to the teacher my husband took my son to drop him off and that's when they started acknowledging him but to him it seemed really fake meaning very over dramatic. The next day I called to talk to the director and she would play it off and make it seem like it was no big deal and then she proceeds to tell me nicely that it could have been my child fault! That is when I had to stop her and tell her that we wouldn't be attending there again. I found out later that day that this has happened to other parents and it is unacceptable! We are paying them a lot of money to make sure our children have a safe place to play and learn. Also another thing I need to bring up is that we decided to have my 3 year old do phonics only to find that his workbook looked like his teachers did it for him just by how perfect it looked... I am so very upset. I do not recommend kindercare to anyone especially at the cedarburg location. Please beware!!! I also sent this info to Kindercare but apparently they don't care.

The new management (Mason and his wife) is a married couple with kids who attend this same daycare - who can relate to many working parents. They are so kind and understanding and have made incredible changes (clean environment, new floors, new outdoor play area). Since my 1.5 year old started, he has been thriving, HAPPY, talking/babbling way more, and during drops off he is so smiley and so excited to see everyone. The staff is so wonderful. Hardworking, positive people who always have a smile on their faces. They send me real-time updates and pics and videos constantly and I couldn't be happier. All things aside we feel like we dodged a bullet sending our son there. If that is how Brooke runs her company that is not somewhere I would want my newborn being cared for.

After just a couple months, he was having such a good time there that he cried when he had to leave as opposed to when I dropped him off. I could see that he grew tremendously while he was there. I loved that Grandma's House functions like a school, even for toddlers. I liked the classroom parties, the lesson plans, and parent-teacher conferences. I always felt like I was actually involved even though I wasn't there with him all day. Unfortunately, my job is no longer convenient to Grandma's House. However, if it ever is again I would send him back there in a heartbeat!
