Dear Dan and Heather (at Living Tree Service), These recent monsoons with 40 MPH and higher winds and the drenching rains that flooded backyards in a matter of minutes could have been a disaster to any of my 19 trees and the structures that they would have smashed. But your annual expert tree trimming kept my trees safe, secure, and PERFECT! Even the grand Chilean Mesquite and Arizona Mesquites that now tower over my house were well-protected from the winds and flooding because of your expert tree care. They were just babies in 1997 when you started servicing my trees; but now they are huge and you have kept them SuperHero Strong. After that big blast of wind last month, I drove through the surrounding area and saw all the grand trees that were knocked down and ruined, while mine stood firm. I am soooooooooo glad that I make that annual investment with your tree service. It really pays off with the reduction in cost to keep my home cool; in the prevention from damage to the structure of the tree; and prevention from damage to the structures within striking distance; as well as providing summer shade and a home to some of the most beautiful sounding song birds. And I don't forget how your expert care saved my 7 HUGE oak trees at the cottage I bought several years ago. I think they are a hundred years old and appear to be over 60 feet tall and just about as wide, but they were being strangled by ivy that had branches as thick as my arms digging into the bark. These giant oaks are irreplaceable and were almost ruined by the previous owners. But you and your team were able to safely clean out the massive growth of ivy that once suffocated the oaks and now the oaks are sprouting new branches. Now everyone can see the majestic structure of these giant oaks and my cottage neighbors still compliment you, not only for your expertise, but also your neighborliness when they asked you for advice and assistance. So I thank you not only for your expert care; but also for your excellent neighborliness. Daniel and crew trimmed 9 trees for me. 5 Palo verde in December and four others - 2 mesquite, 1 ironwood, 1 Aleppo Pine- a couple days ago. These trees have been the victim of poor trimming for decades from a variety of landscape businesses including prominent national tree service companies. The Palo verde that he trimmed in December have a much better shape and are now filling in and actually looking pretty for the first time in 10 years! The others have better balance and are considerably more attractive and happier looking. And I love that he actually does the work himself! Other companies send a salesperson to bid the job and a crew to do the work. And he gave me good advice about watering, suggesting a soaker hose for the Aleppo Pine (which are dying all over the city). Trees are such a huge foundation in the landscape and the longest living part. It's not worth it to have the blow and go guys trim your trees. Much better use of money to have it done correctly. And when I asked how often they would need to be done, Daniel said call me in 3 years and we'll do a tune up. read more

We hired Living Tree to come out and clean up a huge overgrown ficus in our yard. They came out to do the bid while I was at work and contacted me with pricing afterwards. I was pleased with the price as it was much less than I was expecting. The 4-man crew took the time to clean up some of the leaves and leaf blow out debris that had accumulated in our yard as a result of the trimming. Not only did they do a great job thinning out the tree (I've posted before and after photos), they left my yard cleaner than they found it. Dan Stevens with Living Tree Service, planted two Live Oak trees in my yard, and I am so glad he did. It turned out that BOTH trees (bought by me at a local nursury) had "Gurled" roots. This is when one ore more roots are twisted around others, chocking them and depriving them of nutrition. If I had planted them myself I would have wasted my time and my money.
