Spent two hours in the store buying a couch for my senior mother. Everything went well until scheduling delivery. No delivery available within their advertised '48' hours delivery. Paid for delivery and had to wait over two weeks for the scheduled delivery ( between 8 am - 6 pm - like who has time to sit around all day to wait). Only to be told BY EMAIL 24 hours before delivery that the couch is now out of stock and not available for 6 weeks. We already got rid of the old couch! Not confident that is going to happen in six weeks. Calling customer service and the background noise is so bad that service agent tells me choose a new couch or wait. The original salespeople in the bedroom furniture department were pushy and in a huge hurry to make a sale. Was assured measurements correct. The lady in the mattress department was awesome!!! Delivery comes and too wide. Had to wait a week to get the bedside stands exchanged. Whatever you do don't apply for their credit card. I've been on the line with Synchrony Bank for over an hour. Why? Because even though my balance is $2,300 it's stating I only have $1,352 available. I called and there's 2 holds for the EXACT SAME AMOUNTS as my 2 purchases as week apart. They can't explain why and referred me to contact the stores directly. After doing 2 escalations the holds were removed. I also checked my credit report and it shows a balance due being doubled what I charged. The uncompleted transactions were removed after telling the woman on the line I was going to file fraud and close the account. I have 3 other Synchony charge accounts and have never had this issue before. read more

We bought two sofas from here in April. One of the sofas had headrests that stared sinking in after just three months. Went to living spaces and they said to open a claim and they will send someone to take a look. Their service personal came and said there is nothing he can do and that the headrests are damaged and took pictures. After all this they still refuse to take care of the matter and the sofa is still under manufacturer warranty. Spent over 9k on these sofas. DO NOT SHOP HERE AS THEY DO NOT HONOR THEIR WARRANTY. BRAND NEW!! So excited to have one in my City!! I don't have to drive to the Bay Area. When you first walk in, you are greeted with a warm hello and wonderful smile. The store is laid out nicely. The Sales Associates are not paid commission, so you don't have someone breathing down your neck for a sale. Sales Associates are super nice and very helpful. Living Spaces encourages you to take pictures! This is for you to go home, think about it, then go back in, show them the picture and if not in store, you are then allowed to order online, which the Sales Associates does right there. The quality of the items are top notch and you have an array of furniture, lamps, office supplies, etc... We have purchased three items at the Manteca store. The first was a leather recliner. It was damaged when we received it and we called right away. They make it so difficult to get a new one and tell you you have "two options" they offer you some money back or tell you someone will be scheduled to come "fix" it. This was earlier this year. My husband took the small amount they offered. We just purchased two end tables. They came in with one damaged. The claims representative was awful. Tried and tried to tell me I couldn't return the item for a new one. Wanted me to wait for someone to fix it or get an amount of money back. Neither was a option for me. I purchased a new table, not a "fixed" table. Finally, I said I was going to dispute the entire purchase on my credit card. He finally said they'd send me a new one but I won't be allowed to check it when the driver is still at my home. Well see what happens. They are scheduled to come December 31st. Even though I needed it for a Christmas party. They are awful. I will NEVER purchase anything from them again and I will dispute the credit card fees if I get another crappie damaged table or don't even get one on the 31st due to it "being out of stock" as others have complained.. They also just added a fee like others have said for "insurance." I questioned that when I saw the two amounts didn't total the charged amount and only then was I told they added insurance. read more

Went into the store for a nursery chair, and got delivered the wrong chair, just two days before the baby was coming. An associate showed us the perfect nursery chair that glides, swivels, and has USB ports. However, the color we wanted was a brown and it was not on the store floor. She told us the EXACT chair comes in the brown and she can order it for us, we proceeded to buy the brown chair. When the chair arrived it was not the exact chair in brown it was a normal recliner with no swivel, glider, or USB ports. Turns out she sold us the more expensive version of the chair that is not a nursery chair. She clearly made an error and promised the wrong thing. We contacted Living Spaces they were not helpful and proceeded to tell us that we have to drive an hour to the store and talk to them, my girlfriend is 39 weeks pregnant so that is not exactly ideal. We asked for the delivery fee to be waived at least and they told us no compensation can be made. read more

I am writing to express my extreme dissatisfaction with the unacceptable customer service I have received in relation to my furniture order placed on May 10, 2025, consisting of 26 prepaid items scheduled for delivery today, June 3, 2025. Given the scale of the delivery, I scheduled the entire day off work well in advance to ensure I would be available. As you can imagine, taking a day off is not easy and required significant planning. At approximately 12:30 PM today, I received an email stating that a delivery attempt had been made but no one was available. This is simply false. I was home the entire time, my doorbell never rang, my phone never received a call, and even my dogs, who always bark when someone approaches the door, were silent--a clear sign that no one actually attempted to make a delivery. I immediately contacted customer service to report this, only to be met with a rude and unhelpful representative who informed me that the items would be returned to the warehouse and that I was essentially out of luck. I requested escalation and spoke with a supervisor, only to be told the same thing: no redelivery today, no set date for rescheduling, and that someone might follow up in the coming days. There was no ownership, no apology, and no effort to resolve the issue despite the fact that I had done everything on my end correctly. To make matters worse, I was given another phone number to call, where I had to explain my situation for the third time, only to be told I would receive a callback--which never came. I even tried reaching the store directly, only to be disconnected after being put on hold while waiting to speak with a manager. It is clear from this experience that Living Spaces does not value its customers' time or business. I am now left without the furniture I paid for in full, with no clarity on redelivery, no compensation offered, no apology issued, and the very real possibility of having to take yet another day off work--if and when someone ever gets back to me. This experience has been deeply frustrating, time-wasting, and completely unacceptable. I expected better from a company of their size and reputation. I will make it a point to share this experience widely and never do business with Living Spaces again. read more

We purchased a couch,dining room table and kitchen table 3 months back. Within the first two months the recliner on the couch started to fail. We contacted them and after going thru there process of sending pictures ect ect. They agreed to replace the effected unit. Here's the rub. It will cost you $108.00 to have them replace the recliner onto the couch and they will not take the old recliner with them. What kind of customer warranty is that? We were aware the furniture in this store is not of the highest quality but you would expect at least some kind of decent warranty. Read the fine print. The savings is not worth the hassle. I am shocked at how low this place is rated. I went back here after almost a year to buy another couch (for a different room) and was greeted yet again with amazing customer service. Such great friendly support and assistance from the team including but not limited to Latoya, Linda, and Kyle. This has only caused stress to my life for the last 2 months, and I only ask for a dark grey color sectional couch. We were in and out within an hour had a delivery date scheduled all good... then a day before delivery we got an email saying one of the items was no longer in stock, ok so talk to customer services and they said they can't do anything about it. Then we talk to someone from this store and they say they show they still have it and will let us know... Two days later they confirm they don't have it. No effort to try to help us find something similar or anything. Shoutout to Hoai & Pedro! They went above and beyond to help me purchase a sectional for my parents on Thanksgiving weekend. I have been to several Living Spaces throughout the Bay Area - Fremont, San Leandro, San Jose, and Millbrae. This Manteca location is one of the newer location and conveniently located off the 120-Freeway. I wish this location had a outlet clearance warehouse like the Fremont one. Regardless, huge showroom with a huge selection of couches/sectionals, mattresses, dining sets, rugs, and more! Lost track of how many customer service reps approached us but Pedro was the one who actually sat down with us and helped us decide what was our best option. We went back and forth on which sectional to go with but finally decided on the Marcus Grey sectional. I was not able to make payment at the time but Pedro was able to place the order on hold until I had the time to process the payment the next day. I had gone back and forth and made multiple changes with the order but Hoai and Pedro took the extra time to make sure everything went smoothly and as a result I was a happy customer. read more

Each time we have been it's always closed so today we decided to ask why it's closed and the manager Melissa was very rude told my husband to find other avenues. I Took some time off work today expecting a furniture delivery that was scheduled for 12-27-2024 between 10:30am-1:30pm it's past the time no notification was given,no phone call or email to notify me of any changes. I purchased a couch and love seat... it was delivered in January 2025... 3 months later my USB ports stopped working on the chair and the center console. I reached out to living spaces was told I would receive the parts in 4 weeks... 4 weeks came no parts... I called and was told oh no it takes 6 weeks... 6 weeks came still no parts. I called AGAIN and was just now told by the supervisor oh no it takes 8 weeks and we can escalate it up and get you a tracking number in 3 business days. I only had a functioning brand new couch for 3 months! When I told her I wanted compensation for not having a functioning piece of furniture all I was told was I'll make notes of that. Absolutely horrible customer service. Lesson learned don't go the cheap route spend the money with a company that will actually provide customer service and a working product! read more

I should give a 0 rating to this store. I bought the sofa which is on sale. When I purchased the sofa, the sales person told me that the sofa was in good condition and there was no damage. When I went for the pick up from the loading dock, I found that there were damage. When I reached out to the manager, she told me that it is the responsibility of the customer to lift the sofa and to verify the condition. In her defense, she clearly says that the sales person can tell lies to the customer to sell the product. It is the responsibility of the customer to verify the quality. How come the customer can lift the sofa and verify what is underneath?. It is the responsibility of the sales person to inform the customer that the sofa is in damaged condition and that is why we put it up for sale. They should be put on display as "Damaged Goods". Do not buy anything from this store. They will tell lies to the customers to sell the product. The sofa which I bought was on sale, so they was no refund, and they gave me additional discount after a 30 min argument with the manager. I suggest to avoid. They said I signed the document that says that the customer is aware of the damage, but they didn't provide the copy to me when I paid the money. read more

Well, this is on me for not checking reviews before ordering so many things here. We ordered a bed and the day before delivery they said they couldn't find it. The next day they called and said they found it and scheduled a delivery. The day of delivery they called to say the item was DISCONTINUED. How do you schedule a delivery twice for something that doesn't exist? I talked to customer service and they said they had a similar model just without the drawers. What they failed to tell me is the new bed needed a box spring unlike the original one. I didn't know until it was setup at my home. What a failure on every level. Worse delivery service ever! We have used living spaces at the fremont and San Leandro locations through the years and everything was great but Manteca delivery people are HORRIBLE! We had the Trenton coach schedule for delivery on New Year's Eve day and the 2 people that where suppose to deliver the coach where the rudest, laziest people I have ever met. They tried 1x for 2 min to get a big piece in through the door and quickly said "just buy another coach, this won't fit". After a lot of back and forth with corporate and rude/insulting comments made by these delivery they ended up not delivering it. Fast forward and my husband did measuring and has been able to tilt the big piece into the house so if the drivers just tried harder they would have done it to. We decided to get our own truck and pick it up Ourselves so we didn't have to deal with them again. Never again will I buy from living spaces. The worse customer service (by delivery and corporate). I want to add that the sales woman and people that helped at the store to sell us the sofa where kind and did their job well. CANNOT GIVE ZERO STARS. This company pulls a bait and switch and holds you special order hostage for extra charges. May 28th, we bought 2 special order recliners and were told they would be delivered in 2 - 3 weeks. They entered our address before making our full payment, including full service delivery. After 4 weeks we received an email stating the recliners were received and they were waiting for final payment of the OPEN order with no explanation. Customer service stated they needed extra delivery charges paid and they could not deliver to Valley Springs for a couple weeks and they can only deliver on a Saturday. We requested to cancel the full service delivery, being they wanted even more money and we already paid for full service delivery on the day of sale. Customer service said they could change the order to FREE outside drop off as I requested and credit the delivery charge, but it would now change the delivery date another couple weeks later and only on Saturday. We also purchased the Care Free warranty, but cancelled that as well after reading the fine print. That warranty did not cover the furniture as described and the claim free voucher you would receive after 5 years, did not work as described either. The service at the Manteca store was good, but their employer could care less about the customer, as indicated by customer service. We also have not received the delivery charge refund, which means another call to customer service and that will probably change our delivery date another couple weeks. JEES! read more

This store is overpriced for the quality and level of comfort of their furniture. Also, they don't have an incoming phone line. The only way to contact them is via email. For a store that seems to often have more employees than customers you would expect someone could be answering their customers questions via the phone. I plan to take them to small claims court. They should not trick customers into buying products that they cannot deliver when they say. The young man that helped us was absolutely delightful and very personable. We bought a beautiful dresser at a great price. Great experience but don't get swindled into their warranty. Recently bought a nook table here. Walked in, great selection and great customer service. The only downside was the saleswomen tried telling me if I bought the warranty and if I didn't need to use it, I would get the cost of the warranty back. Little did she say- your warranty cost is returned in the form of a gift card and you must meet minimum spend requirements to redeem it. I felt I got bait and switched on that piece. But otherwise- my table showed up on time and was left in box by the delivery guys. Once I put it together- it seems to be decent quality for what I paid.
