Everyone should have a doula as a part of their birth experience, and if they can, it should be Heather! We began working with Heather several months before our delivery. From our very first introductory call, she was engaged, informative, and just so unbelievably helpful. Not only does she provide a series of online classes, but you also get to attend her in-person workshop and meet with her 1:1 prior to the big day. Without Heather, we would have had so many questions and unknowns leading up to labor and delivery... instead, she prepared us for just about everything (understanding contractions, labor positions, when to get to the hospital, etc.). Our little girl was stubborn and we ended up getting induced. Heather helped us to stick to our plan of having a baby without an epidural or heavy pain meds. She coached us through every step of the way and provided the stability and encouragement we needed to keep going. Not only was she so critically helpful to me (the mama), but she provided the calm, cool, collected game plan that also helped my husband. She is also just an amazing advocate who can help interpret medical jargon and help you make informed decisions according to your birth plan. To top it all off, she took absolutely beautiful birth photos and came to our house to check in after we were settled at home. All in all, we would have felt so lost and alone trying to make it through labor without Heather. At this point we are telling everyone who will listen... YOU NEED HEATHER AS YOUR DOULA!!!!!

It is easy in today's birth world to feel like childbirth is being done to you rather than feeling like an active participant, but at Hillside midwifery everything is explained to you clearly and openly and you decide what's best for you every step of the way. I just delivered my 4th baby with Hillside and had the most wonderful experience. When giving advice to first time moms picking a midwife I always say pick someone you feel like you'd be friends with because you're going to spend so much time together. Well Katie became more than a friend she became like family. That 6 week appointment after you give birth will be the hardest because you have to say goodbye to someone that you've grown to adore. I seriously cannot recommend Hillside enough. They will make you feel loved and cherished and like a birthing goddess.

I live 40 min away and when I get a call the evening before an appt they have to move my appointment, it's very hard to move it due to my schedule. The excuse everytime was that they "double booked" the provider. It's not hard to not double book one provider, and when i asked the question (the 3rd time my appts got rescheduled) "why does the other patient's appointment take presidents over mine every time and I'm the one always getting rescheduled" and of course they had no answer except they double booked the provider. When they called me to tell me my 4th appt there was moved from 8am to 11:30 that was the last straw, I can't just move my appt 3 1/2 hours later when I myself have a full schedule. So here I am 18 weeks pregnant and looking for an OBGYN who will take my time just as serious as they take their own. I'm never late for my appts, and I understand this issue happening a time or even 2 times. But I'm 4 for 4 on appointments and fed up.

He knows what he's doing and he does his job amazingly. He's a great person and a great doctor. I don't trust easily, but not only do I trust him I also have the upmost respect for him. He's such a great doctor that even my mom became a patient of his after my oldest was born. I can't say enough great things about him. If you want a great doctor who knows his field, who you feel relaxed and comfortable with, who can absolutely trust your health with and that if your child's, then Glen is the the doctor you need. His staff is also amazing! I've not lived in Idaho for many years now so I'm not sure who is still with him as staff. However, when I was there every single person on his staff was also kind and compassionate and friendly. There's nothing I can say that isn't good about him and his staff. Thank you Glen for helping me bring two of my three into this world. Even with the couple of scary moments on my end. You helped get me through it and got them here and they were born healthy and safe. Now they're all grown and married and getting ready to start their families. I'm a somewhat reserved person who finds it hard to open up and feel safe with most people, but I felt completely comfortable with Mary. With Mary you get the best of both worlds. Not only is she highly skilled in what she does but she's also a woman of faith and offered me tons of biblical encouragement and insight that I badly needed. She is a midwife who believes in the bodies natural ability to heal, and to birth, but connects that with a wonderment and reverence for God. She is highly skilled in herbal medicine and was able to offer me many mixes to naturally and safely alleviate any concern/ discomfort I had during my pregnancy. My birth went faster than I expected but she was there in perfect time! Even during the most intense moments of labor, her touch and voice were so soothing. She took amazing care of us postpartum and was a listening ear for me when I had any concern about my baby and was quick to offer advice and natural remedies. Throughout my whole pregnancy and delivery she went above and beyond her duties as a midwife. She is incredibly generous with her time and remedies. I've had other experiences with midwifes and she is second to none. If my husband and I decide to have another child we will definitely be hiring Mary. She's the best out there, look no further.

Clarissa was there to comfort me through my fears as well as educate me on breastfeeding, labor positions, and how to write a birth plan. She was willing to go to appointments with me if I was scared and my husband couldn't. I decided to have a natural birth in a birthing center and she was my ROCK! I had a labor of 13 hours pushed for 3 and she didn't leave my side. For some reason the sound of my husbands voice was like nails on a chalk board. I needed the voice of a woman and the comfort of a woman. She was the best coach and support. It was the hardest work I ever did and it made a huge difference to have cheerleader on my side with my best interest at heart. She even made sure I was comfortable after birth and answered any questions I had about breastfeeding and being a new mom. Would highly recommend a doula to attend your birth. Clarissa was amazing!
