I…read morewas too disappointed and upset yesterday when I picked up my two airedales from the grooming. First off, they didn't have my appointment shceduled when I arrived with the two of them at 7:30am. But they went ahead and took them. I had made the appointment the week before, after calling around looking for a place that had experience grooming airedales. They were the first to tell me they were. In fact, shared with me that they had a couple of airedale clients they groom. Just in case, before turning my airedales over to the groomer, I told her specifically. that I liked a long beard and mustache, and not to cut them. I even went as far as to give her photos of how I wanted the "head", showing different angles. I even told them what size blade to use. All I can say is, the ears are right on both dogs. I have no idea how many months...maybe a year, for my female to grow her beard back. Or how long her hair will grow back on her face so she doesn't look like a poodle or whatever that's supposed to be. The Groucho Marx eyebrows and the mustaches....I'll have to do or find another groomer just to fix them. And poor Roadie, he has been limping on his right front leg since we got him home. I was hoping it'd be better today, but it's not. Will have to take him into his vet. if there's no improvement. Don't know what happened, but he didn't have a limp when he went there yesterday morning. And they sure didn't say anything on how he may have hurt himself or gotten hurt. One thing I will not be doing, is taking them to the Big Dog Show at Reliant Stadium , in Houston, for "Meet the Breed". In the past, I've always taken our airedales for that. It's like a "show and tell" , where people can see and touch different AKC breeds and get information about them. They do not represent what an airedale should look like. Not even as a "pet". I didn't expect a show cut, but I did expect an airedale cut from someone who claimed they were experienced and knowledgeable to do that. I have serious doubts...serious doubts that was truthful. The price....shocking...$335.60 ($25.60 was sales tax) I was told $95 each for the grooming because of their weight. Then the upcoding for the nails ($15), conditioner ($5), dematting ($10) (was told they found a mat under Roxie's front leg, I told them to just cut or shave it off..it wouldn't show anyway), they said nothing about finding any mats on Roadie, but I was charged for them.). Then an extra $30 charge for "scissor service". I wasn't told this would be an extra charge above the "grooming service". And what was the "add on pattern set service" ($10) for Roadie? That was a whole other charge...and not one for Roxie. But I guess she was so messed up, they couldn't claim that. Roxie did have a cute bandana that was so tight on her neck, we had to cut it off. Roadie didn't have one, Maybe all they are used to doing are small dogs? You would have thought they would have put some cologne on them at least, but no. Just as well, they probably charged for that. I was shocked at the price. And of course, we had to pay before they brought the dog's out. And they don't give you a receipt of the charges, either. When I got home, I had a mystery message to click some weird link on my phone from an unknown number. Nothing that said it was from Red Bluff Pet Resort. Just a link to "view Roxie and Roadie's report card" and to "click this link to get pre approved for credit". After getting on my computer, I was finally able to figure out it came from them, and the desk person had signed me up for it. First off, there was no report card. There was a place for putting my credit card information in for them to make things easier for next time (as if). And I finally found my receipt and the breakdown of charges. It was a very expensive lesson. Needless to say, I'll be looking for a groomer that really does know how to groom an airedale in the Deer Park, Texas area. Photo of Roxie and Roadie. When I got there the groomer a very nice young lady was trying to explain to me what had happened, but the owner would not allow her to talk he continue to over talk her the entire time he was rude and disregarded the pain that my dog was in. I told him I was not interested in hearing what he had to say that I wanted to hear what she had to say so I could find out what exactly happened so I could tell the vet. I was so upset! He tells me you can't sue us because we have a written agreement. When I asked for a copy of the written agreement the young lady very nice went to make me a copy and he's like no don't give it to her give it to me yanking it out of her hands. WHAT A DOG IS HURTING AND THATS WHAT YOUR THINKING ABOUT!!! At that point I not only was upset but then I got angry and explain to him my attorney would be contacting him!!! Only then did he give me the copy. There was no caring, no compassion, no I'm sorry that your dogs in pain nothing!!! When I got there she was still tied to the table shaking with her eye halfway popped out. He claims to be the owner if you're the owner you should have so much love in your heart for animals. Especially for one that eyeball is halfway popped out!!! Someone that claims to love animals you would think would be in tears even if its not there dog. He is definitely a terrible human being!!! He told me I'm lucky that I'm getting her a free haircut and that I was not welcome back there. Really as if I would bring my dog back to a place where the owner has no compassion for a dog!!!!! Our puppy Samantha is very "dog reactive" to our other 2 dogs in the household. Immediately when I call I was offered an evaluation ( 30 mins for free ) which I thought was nice! I went for the evaluation and came to an understanding that this could totally be a place that could help us correct behaviors and introduce us to some new obedience training and brush up on things we have fallen behind on. My fiancé and I arrived for a 1 hour long session and it went fantastically. Wayne was awesome! He took us through all the ins and out and explained the reason behind why we should be training the way he is teaching us. We have a lot of homework to do! But we are so excited that this has given the opportunity to our dogs to coexist more peacefully with each other through very vigorous training techniques he is teaching us! We are really happy we came here! Thank you for being so straight to the point and adamant about we need to be with our dogs. It's going to make a world of difference in our lives! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED for training!

Recently, I came home from work to see some accidents around my house. My little girl hadn't been feeling well, but it was getting worse. So I called them hoping they could give me some advice since it was after 5 PM on a Friday. They told me that based on what I explained, they would likely recommend her going to the overnight emergency hospital because it sounded like she would need surgery posthaste. She didn't want me to bring her there because she didn't want me to be charged for the visit if they were going to send her to the emergency hospital anyways. I really appreciated that. The next day, we took her in and they helped us find a vet that would do an emergency Saturday surgery without an appointment. Ms. Cynthia even called somewhere for us to hopefully get in. We went where she said and she even called me a little while later to see if we were able to get something worked out and to check on my Peyton. Even though they were not able to help me this one time, they still helped me through my tears, and helped find someone who could do a surgery on such short notice. AND they called to follow up with how she was doing. That is top notch in my book, and I love that they care about animals and what they're doing.

When I called two weeks later because my dog's eye still wasn't better, I was told to take my dog to an eye specialist. I understand that some conditions require specialist care, but after paying for the initial visit and trying the prescribed treatment, it was frustrating to still have no resolution. I would have appreciated clearer communication about what to expect from the medication and what the next steps would be if it didn't help. Based on this experience, I'm unhappy with the service and follow-up I received.

I used this vet clinic years ago for far longer than I should have. The vet I was seeing was…read moreafraid of one of my dogs and refused to let me bring him in - even when he was dying. I started using a different vet clinic that I loved and who treated my pets with the care and consideration they deserved. I had moved to another state and returned to find that the vet I had used before the move had retired at the end of last year, so I went on a search to find a new local vet. I discovered that all the vets at Abshier-Meuth during the time I had used them before had moved on so I decided to give them a second chance. My first visit with them was over a concern I had with one of my dogs. I felt good about that visit and decided that maybe I could use them for both of my dogs. Well, I took my other dog in last week. I requested a urinalysis because he had recently been treated for a UTI at the vet from where I had been living the last few years and I wanted to be sure it had cleared up. I also wanted to talk about allergy treatments because this dog has severe allergies and was having a serious outbreak. I got to the appointment a little early but didn't have to wait long before I was put back into an exam room. However, once there, I was there for almost three full hours! I hadn't asked for an estimate but one was brought to me anyway. In addition to the urinalysis, the estimate included blood work, medications, shampoos and other things - and that was before I ever saw the vet! I told them that I had the shampoo they were suggesting at home and that he had had labs less than two months ago and I didn't think they were needed. They insisted they had to be done and suggested the vet wouldn't see or treat my dog without me having them done - at a price of $170, so I let them run the unneeded tests. My final bill reflected the shampoo and noted that I had refused it, as if I had rejected a lifesaving surgery instead of letting them know I had the shampoo at home already. When the vet finally came into the room, she said she thought we needed to get a urinalysis done on my dog - as if that wasn't something I had asked for when I scheduled the appointment! I was charged for them using a new ultrasound machine. I had told them that they needed to get a free catch sample because he wouldn't let them use get it any other way. Her response was that they had a new ultrasound machine and they might as well use it. So I got charged for it, even though they ultimately had to get a free catch - like I told them they would. I asked for a copy of my pet's records and was provided everything but the urinalysis results. I was told his numbers were not good and that he needed to be put on a specialized prescription food as a result - but they didn't provide the results to back it up. I was sent an email with a link to order the food so I emailed them back and said I needed to have a copy of the urinalysis results. I got no response. I followed up today and the receptionist - Kimberly Montgomery - responded that they had sent them. When I said they weren't received, she responded that I needed to check my email, as if I hadn't done that already. It took several emails before she finally sent me the results - which have no range for anything and do not indicate any measurement is high or low, I did look up the thing the vet had mentioned and it is off but the report does not reflect that - but was very snarky and unprofessional in doing so. I pointed out that she is the first impression anyone gets of the clinic and should be mindful that we have choices where we can take our pets. Her response was to offer to send me my pets' full records. So, a lot of years have passed since I've taken a pet to Abshier-Meuth but it would appear it hasn't been nearly long enough. If you want to waste your time, pay way more than you need to for tests that weren't asked for or needed, and don't care about the quality of care or professionalism of the staff, you can try out Abshier-Meuth. As for me, I will be taking my pets somewhere else.
