Excellent place. 1) You got the Hudson River beach, clifftop and panoramic views! 2) It is a short and easy walk/hike. Everyone can do it. 3) The place is a loop, so it is easy to finish.

I almost bypassed this little gem on the map because it looked "too short" for a day hike. We did Cornish first to the ruins, stopped by the car for some water and the headed in here. All the reviews said to start on the right trail, so right we turned. It's a pretty wide footpath compared to other trails and super flat. Perfect for a beginner hiker and for hikers with dogs that need more space or aren't fit enough to do other hikes. Around the park is just a mile. Upon reaching the beach, it was high tide so we didn't get to frolick around. Also, there were a ton of broken beer bottles on the sand, so check the pup's paws after. After finishing the loop in less than 20 minutes, we decided to go up the green trail to the overlook. It started out foresty for maybe 10 feet and then did a short incline up. Aside from the graffiti on the rocks, the view of the river and Storm King are well worth the stop. If you're in the area, pop over and walk the short incline up to see the view. You won't be disappointed.

Beautiful little hike during a day trip away from NYC. i came in the middle of the week so most of little stony point was super deserted aside from a few locals hanging out. Stumbled upon the beachy area in the middle of the park so we threw down a blanket to have lunch and waded in the water. The whole area was so serene and awesome for spending a day off in the middle of the week!

It was only my third time hiking, and that's when I realized how much I love hiking. I definitely plan to hike more often. The Blue Trail is considered beginner-friendly, I found parts of it a bit challenging because of the incline. Still, the effort was worth it, the view of South Beacon Mountain was absolutely beautiful. The hike itself was a great experience, especially with friends. Near the train station, there are small shops where you can grab food, drinks, or any last-minute supplies. There are also restrooms by the station and portable toilet near the trail areas. I would definitely come back to hike there again, maybe do the red trail.

If you go in the winter, take caution with the ice when climbing to the top. After about an hour into the trail, you will see a sign to continue on the Full Loop or the Short Loop. When we reached that point, we switched to the Bull Hill Short Loop. It took around 3 hours to complete. The trails have beautiful views! You will see other hikers, but everyone keeps a safe distance. Take time to stop and enjoy the surrounding. There are portable toilets at the beginning of the trail with hand sanitizers if you need to use a bathroom.
