I've had the most classic of all Vietnamese dishes (PHO) in many countries and even the most substandard version that I've been served has still been delicious and enjoyable, just not up to the standard of the other restaurants. Imagine our shock and horror when we tried out this place and the freaking PHO was ABYSMAL!! It wasn't even just OK it was dishwater with a few pieces of days-old, shoe-leather, Brisket!! I often make a quick homemade PHO and use Campbell's Pho broth that comes in a tetra-pak and it is a THOUSAND times better than the garbage that we were served. PHO broth is the key to the dish and is cooked for 48 hours with browned beef-bones, aromatics, lots of cinnamon sticks and other secret ingredients. I thought how is this disgusting piss-swill even POSSIBLE? So I peeked into the kitchen. Oh there you have it. There isn't a Vietnamese person to be found anywhere. It's all East Indians and it is a travesty!!! I'd call it garbage but at least garbage has some flavor!! Abhorrent!! read more

The space was open and inviting with cute decor. The staff were friendly and the menu was a good size. I found the food isn't what it used to be, the flavour was a little underwhelming on the black bean sauce, and it came out cool. The spring rolls however were tasty, hot and delicious. I ordered a side of peanut sauce to be served with it instead of the fish sauce. It was really busy around 4pm on a Friday. Their newest location, 4th one, one of the trendier, if not the trendiest in Abbotsford. Love the wooden tables & decor, high ceilings, lots of natural light. Ordered the veggie platter, incredible portions as per pics. For my salad roll test, they passed with flying colours, delicious peanut sauce too. But the extra star is for their coconut/coffee flan dessert, it's been awhile since I've been floored, as eating out still is more like a job than entertainment lol. Thoroughly enjoyed their pho. I got One order for pick up and the next day I showed up and ate at the restaurant. I found the one I ordered my food to go that I got a significantly less amount of the soup, but when I dined in it was a lot more. The flavor was consistent both in the delivery and take out the broth is delicious and the meat was really well cooked, I also found they don't cheap out on the meat as well. I really liked the satay pho ... definitely robust full flavor, and broth was made the right way, bone broth 100%. This was an awful experience. Will never order again. Lemongrass chicken had no flavor, dry and grey in color. Chicken tasted old and I could not finish it. Veggies were dry and old, like they had been out too long. Salad rolls were also dry inside and the carrots were tough and dry. Also tried the Saigon Specials. Not kid friendly like listed on yelp. No kids menu or kids options. And no high chairs or change tables available. Very disappointing. Had to feed my young child sitting on the bench. Emailed corporate about it and they said it's because they have had incidences of children grabbing hot soup on the table tops. But lots of restaurants serve soups, and having chIldren sitting on the benches and chairs when they're too small seems more dangerous around hot soups to me. Won't be going back Food was ok, pricing is decent, and the service was ok from the two ladies working. But because of the lack of "kid-friendliness" it unfortunately won't be a place we will be returning to. read more

This place nothing like a Phô place and I don't hold it against it but I think they left customer service and food quality at their old Essendene location. I ordered take out, around $60 dollars worth and when I came to pick it up I barely had an acknowledgment that I was their and service people didn't seem really excited to be working there. We ordered grilled pork Vermicelli that consisted of vermicelli noodles pork and shredded lettuce and carrots. Boring flavour. Tom's special Soup. They are right in the menu about only Tom can finish because, for $18 I have had way better Phô and didn't care to finish it. My daughter ordered a basic Phô soup and it was basic. I think this place needs to go back to it's Vietnamese roots and focus less on iPad ordering and more on traditional flavours. read more

Placed an order last week For pick up, two soups an order of spring rolls and order salad rolls with extra sauces. When I arrived home which was 20 minutes away there was none of the bean sprouts sauces or Extras that go into the soup included in my order. There was noodles and beef and broth. There is no sauces for the Spring Rolls no peanut sauce for the salad rolls. I called and spoke with the Manager and she Told me to come pick it up as It was not put in the bag. I told her I was 20 minutes away which would be 40 minutes for me to come and pick that up and go home. She then said to me well what do you want me to do. I asked her if she could send it by Skip the dish in which she told me she would do, two hours later I still did not have the remainder of my order. I then phoned her and she said the remainder of my order has been picked up by Skip the dish. I told her my dinner was two hours ago and this was unacceptable again she said to me what do you want me to do. I told her I was going to put a review on Google then she said to me she was going to replace my order at another date and took my name down. Well today I phoned to get my order that she told me she was going to replace, only to realize It is a 25% discount. I told them forget it. I was worried if I could find good vegan food in Abbotsford, and Little Saigon delivered! Not literally, but it was right around the corner from us, and we needed to celebrate our win for securing rentals for our wedding at Spruce Collective. Ordered two veggie pho bowls with a tofu bahn mi (no mayo, thank you!) and it was satisfying and filling. We were able to chat with the owner, who was working next to us at the table, and was proud to tell us that his products contained no MSG or anything artificial. We agreed. When you think of good pho, you probably don't picture Abbotsford, but that's exactly where you'll find a nice, steaming, authentic bowl of pho. The no-frills menu has all the main staples like meatball, rare beef, and beef brisket pho, but it doesn't have items like tendon or tripe, perhaps because of the low demand out in the Fraser Valley. They were unfortunately out of the beef brisket when I went here, so I just had the rare beef. The owner himself came out to talk to us and was proudly describing how he makes his broth. He claims to use the most meat and bones in his broth than any other Vietnamese restaurant he knows. He also doesn't use any MSG, which he says tends to make his soup a little blander than most pho broths, but he is hoping to be more health-conscious with his food. I thought the broth was very tasty, even without the MSG, and I probably could have drank the whole thing. I even thought it tasted better before I added the chili oil, which is also made from scratch in the restaurant (you can even buy a bottle from the restaurant, and the owner hopes to have the product in stores in upcoming months). We also tried the deep fried chicken wings, which were smothered in a delicious, spicy garlicky sauce. My only complaint about the wings was that they weren't very meaty. Very good pho, and I like how he doesn't use MSG without compromising on flavour. It's too bad I live too far away to become a regular here! read more

We ordered 'make your own' entree with rice, lemon grass chicken with salad and seafood pho. The lemon grass chicken tasted amazing but the portion was so small! The seafood pho came with squid, shrimp, noodles and imitation crab. The portion was just right but the broth was SWEET!!! I had to ask for extra lime to kill the sweetness. I give this place 3 stars while my friend rolls her eyes in disbelief - she said 1 star is proper. 'You should have tasted the fried egg roll to understand what I meant." We ate there yesterday evening and both got food poisoning. Still sick this morning, hence the review. We weren't happy with the food to begin with - the smallest plate imaginable of calamari (one of our favorites that we eat in many restaurants) for 18 dollars was a complete shock when it came to the table. We thought we'd get a big pile, like usual with a calamari order. The chicken coconut curry tasted like a dessert it was so sweet. The rare beef pho was mostly rice noodles, hardly any broth, and the beef was fully cooked when it came to the table. I wasn't expecting authentic Vietnamese, given the restaurant, but at least expected decent food. The first server didn't know how to do her job, but maybe she's new and I've been a server many times and know how difficult it can be at the beginning. The second server was nice but service was still just blah, not stellar as I've come to expect having done the job myself, but not awful either. If it hadn't been the weekend, I would have asked to talk to the manager. Didn't think complaints would go anywhere if we talked to those servers (who just hung out behind the counter and chatted the whole time we were there, which to me says they don't care about their job). We left feeling awful that we spent 46 dollars, but whatever, things happen and we laughed it off. Until the food poisoning hit, and now I'm thoroughly pissed off. I've never written a yelp review but this was so bad I felt I had to. If the manager sees this: I'd like a refund. read more

I have had several unbelievable experiences with this restaurant. None positive. On more than one occasion I have phoned to make a take out order and no one answers the phone. Even after up to 5 repeated calls. Twice I have then sat outside the restaurant and phoned and watched the people inside ignore the phone- causing me to have to go inside to place an order and then wait. Also, on 1 of those 2 same occasions I got home only to realize they had given me about 30 bean sprouts with my rare beef soup, and the broth container was only filled half way. Most recently, I was ignored by phone again- arrived at the restaurant to make a in person take out order- but the open sign was already off and I could see them cleaning up inside and it was still 30 minutes before closing. I tried more than once to get in contact with the manager- but have been unsuccessful. As a result, I will no longer be supporting this restaurant, nor will I encourage anyone else to eat here. I am saddened that evening during COVID while all restaurants are struggling to survive- that management may not even be aware of this conduct. I hope this can bring it to light- as when this restaurant was located on Essendene in Abbotsford it was fabulous! read more
