Thank you soooo much Fred and Nita for the wonderful Blackforest Father's Day cake! I'm telling you this cake is the BOMB! The very first sighting of the cake I entered "WOW"!!! The creaminess of the icing, the promise that strawberries bring, whoo whoo, produced a momentary struggle! When the cake was freed from its protective casing my nose was caught up with the aromatic rush of strawberries and chocolate. I'm telling you it was ON! Not trusting myself I asked my wife to cut me a slice. I felt no pity as the knife decended forever changing the beautiful symmetries of this treasure. I had to sample the frosting first! To my surprise it was infused with strawberries with just the right amount of sweetness, without being so thick that you had to hunt for the cake. There before me were two layers of chocolate and two of vanilla, separated by a layer of strawberry filling. This was no ordinary heavy tasting, jelled, overly sweet mass nor was it a mushy, gummy mess. I don't have the words to describe how the flavors complement one another. I just enjoyed the cakes texture and went with the flavors! I ate it without drinking any milk; it was moist and I didn't want anything with it in my mouth. All too soon my alloted slice was gone! The rest of the cake was put into its shield of protection in the fridge under the care of my wife. I knew two things: (1) this cake will not survive long (2) trying to hold out while getting Bae to order another one for the 4th of July. You can't just eat a cake like this and not experience the love, the attention to detail and craftsmanship that makes up this cake creation. Something that's rare in this day and age of mass production. This is an expression of quality and goodness on a whole different level. I really appreciate you both for making me something that will be known around this house as "DAD'S's CAKE"! I've had Blackforest cakes before but they can't touch the one you made for me; besides cherries are not my thing. I'M LOVING IT!! I'm telling you this is the best tasting cupcake/cake place in the world. I have traveled all over the world and came to Montgomery, Alabama to visit my son who is in the military and was being promoted. I looked on Yelp to pick a place that made cakes. The different reviews sounded ok but not spectacular, not above and beyond as far as taste, beauty, and service. I asked around and someone recommended Little Red Cupcake and owners Nita and Fred Johnson. He was prior Navy and his wife supported him in his career and now he was supporting her in this business. Just go there and taste their mini cupcakes to get an idea how good it is. We ordered the Red Velvet Cake with icing and decoration to celebrate my sons promotion. Fred delivered it right to the room holding the celebration on base. We didn't have to worry about it once we made the order. It was delicious!! They also have flavors like key lime pie cupcake. You will think you died and went to heaven. There are so many flavors and icings each so great. I had a mini chocolate and it was so moist and the cake and icing is homemade. Hands down my new go to company for all sweets! The level of professionalism they have is impeccable! Last minute I needed some treats for my mom's 60th birthday. They made it happen w/ no hiccups! ANY questions or concerns I had, they responded within hours! I was able to choose a design, flavors, setup delivery for Prattville and pay -all while being 4 states away. Annnnnddd the cupcakes/cake -OMG - they definitely should be crown the BEST in Montgomery and surrounding areas! Did I mention...you can request a flavor that they don't have?! They are the best! Whenever I come back here from Mississippi, I always text Fred or Nita with my order. I always place an order for a lemon pound cake(so good). Now that I'm back in town for Thanksgiving, I placed an order a couple months back for my lemon pound cake and a coconut cake. I ordered a German Chocolate Cake for a friend that lives also in MS and that cake was to die for. I always thought I hated German Chocolate Cake, that cake was so moist and good and it stayed moist until the last piece was gone which was about a week. Yummy. What I think set the cupcakes and cakes apart is, they are made from scratch and love. The themed birthday cakes are pure artisty, I think a good slogan would be, If you can dream it they can make it, so not only is the cake beautiful it is major delicious. Little Red Cupcake is the BEST!!!!! Fred and Anita are a power couple that does everything with excellence and the love they have for their customers are by far the BEST. Now days customer service has gone from a 10 to a 0 but not at Little Red Cupcake, they make you feel like family from the beginning to the end of your visit. I have supported them from day one and I will continue to support with many orders (lemon pucker cupcake is one of my favorites). We are so grateful to that Little Red Cupcake for not only making a beautiful and delicious cupcake cake for my husband's military promotion, but also working with us when we discovered that I had goofed and had given them the wrong date for the event. First and foremost, the owners (Fred) are just about the nicest people as you can get. I would definitely rate their level of service and attentiveness as exceptional. They were more than accommodating to our company, given the short notice we afforded them. We ordered a 1/4 red velvet sheet cake for a coworkers 15th work anniversary. It was delicious -- all of our staff really, really enjoyed the cake. It was moist, the icing was ridiculously good and the price was fair.
