Ordered a chocolate buttercream Cholate cake for my fiancé 3-19 and it was delicious!

Best cookies I ever put in my mouth! Had to go back the following day to get more, before we left to drive back home.

This bakery is not what it used to be. Originally from Montgomery, I have been a lifelong customer of Liger's. Their thumbprint cookies are my all time favorite. So much so that my dad ships me a box for every birthday and Christmas and I so look forward to them. My father just had spine surgery, is homebound at the moment, alone, and is turning 80 tomorrow. I called Liger's to ask if there was any way to have something delivered to him, even using a delivery service. He lives exactly one mile from the store. Well I can say this. I have NEVER been spoken to so rudely in my entire life. I was yelled at and hung up on with the phone slammed down "because it's two days before Thanksgiving" (well, it's actually three days before, but who's counting). I was politely trying to explain my situation and she said she didn't care what my situation was, she couldn't help me. Dumbfounded at being hung up on for no reason, I called back and got a gentleman. He was slightly more tolerable to talk to, but was also wholly uninterested in helping me, explained he had buzzers going off and kept repeating its two days before Thanksgiving. I said it was epically rude for the other employee to hang up on me - and he said well that's what I'm going to have to do, too. I told him that I guess I just learned something about Liger's. Then he, too, hung up. The call was less than two minutes. I get this is a busy season, but Liger's - you need to remember it's us loyal customers who keep you in business and you just lost a lifelong customer. I truly don't know how a business can interact with their customers this way and expect to stay in business. Kindness isn't difficult. If you are too busy baking to answer the phone, hire a kind employee to take calls. It would have taken nothing away to help a customer find a solution to a reasonable, common request. It's called customer service. read more

We have used Liger's for over 25 years. My mother loves them as well. Cannot find better tasting specialty cookies, cakes, etc. The heart of Montgomery. Highly suggest taking some of the yummy cookies, especially. My go to , especially for special occasions, like baby showers, graduations, and birthdays. read more

We ordered a wedding white cake with white frosting. The cake was yellow. For those of us who love white cake this is not acceptable. They used to make white cakes. My husband decided to call just in case they don't know that this is what is happening. The person on the phone was very rude. He told my husband that this is their white cake. My husband accepted that and thanked him. We will never go there again. They are in a very dangerous neighborhood so I am just as happy about it. read more

Extremely rude with customers. Ashley Moore who runs their social media site becomes extremely combative with customers if you do not agree with any type of contructice criticism. I had no idea saying a place had changed because they no longer serve sandwiches would trugger the employee to attack me via her personal social media and the stores social media as well. You can actually go see such evidence on the google review i left where she actually replies with trying to entice an altercation at said place of business. That being said they lost several customers over terrible customer service such as this. read more

Love their doughnuts i at least purchase a dozen for my coworkers when I get a chance, and they like it yum yum.

Turns out this bakery is not named after one of Napolean Dynamite's drawings. Instead it is a family business that specializes in...you guessed it baked goodies. However, I decided to stop in to check it out and ended up eating lunch. I had the chicken salad sandwhich, which was fresh and fantastic! The service was friendly and I tasted the pimento cheese, which was great. I will return for a take home pint. On the pastry side there is a large selection, but I wasn't that impressed with taste. I tried a chocolate chip cookie sandwich and it was dry, crumbly, and bland. I would be willing to try something different in the future though, but for now three stars on pastries and five stars on chicken salad and pimento cheese. read more

I purchased a cake and cupcakes from this bakery. They were awful! The cake was dry, tasted like flour, and the cupcakes were way too oily. I've had better cakes from Walmart and Publix. I had high hopes for this place because the cake was ordered on such a short notice, but I will NOT recommend this place to anyone ever!!! When I called and spoke to someone about my purchase and the issues we had they were straight up RUDE! They even hung up in my face. Their customer service is HORRIBLE!!! read more

Got my wife's bday cake from here, it was absolutely delicious. Staff was very nice and you can tell it's an old school southern bakery.

I really wish I could give zero stars. My friend was going through a divorce and we wanted to cheer her up,so we decided to throw her a divorce party. I went to Ligers to order her a cake and the older woman who helped me acted as if I was asking her to make a satanic cake! She was so rude and not very helpful. Fast forward a few months to my Mom ordering several things from them for my sisters performance in a theater group (cake,cake pops,cupcakes);when my m arrived to pick everything up IT WASN'T READY. Then when she finally received her order the cake was wrong and literally falling apart and everything was so dry and tasteless. This bakery is so unprofessional I have no idea why anyone gives them more than one star. read more

The worst experience with a bakery. I ordered a 10 bday cake strawberry with cream cheese icing nothing extravagant with 10 cupcakes same flavor. $90 later they were horrible no one ate another bite after spitting out the first bite. Even the teenage boys wouldn't eat it. Now that's bad. Never again. read more

The sweetest ladies work at this bakery. I came in here to take a look since I was early for a dinner date across the street. I was surprised to find how much variety they had from pecan pies, bear claws to all sorts of Italian cookies. I gave in a got a slice of pecan pie for my husband and a date nut bar for myself. The bars (I only ordered one but when I looked in my bag, I realized cashier gave me two) were delicious! I microwaved it for 10 seconds before devouring. It was not too sweet but it still able to fulfill a sugar craving! read more

If you want good reliable customer service do not use Ligers. The man who owns this business is extremely rude. They were an hour late delivering my order and when i called to talk to him he was extremely rude and mad that I called him to see where my order was. read more

My wedding cake was an hour and half late, further more it looked absolutely nothing like we had agreed too. The leaning tiers and incorrect color usage, it was a terrible disappointment. The work did not live up to the reputation of cost. read more

I went to Liger's this week for the first time. I had eaten many of their products before at parties, but this was my first purchases. The service was excellent. The young lady at the counter was very friendly and helpful. I bought 3 different items and all were husband-approved delicious. I'll be back! read more

Ordered a cake for Christmas. I went to pick up the cake and the lady upfront was very rude. Later that night went to cut the cake to eat it and it was tasteless and so dry that it was unfit to eat. I threw the cake in the garbage. This was my first and last time to order from there. read more

I visited this bakery on today, and this is the second time I have been to this bakery and experienced such an unfriendly environment and unwelcoming cold customer service from the same woman on both visits. She seemed as if she did not want to be there let alone help me with my order. Every time i visit this place they never have any customers, try changing your staff and you may have more customers. I guess I'll never know what their cakes taste like. But the bad service left a horrible taste in my mouth. I tried to order a special birthday cake, but after 5 days of no reply to my message I called them. After hearing how busy they were and listening to excuses as to why they couldn't return a call I question why they would choose to be in the service industry. Just sliced a red velvet cake that came from Liger's. Sad to say, the entire cake is going in the garbage. The cake itself was nothing more than an extremely dry plain cake with red food dye. The icing could have very easily been a substitute for drywall mud. I am so lucky that I sampled it before serving it to my family for the holiday; now, I can at least go out and find a replacement that will be more suitable and flavorful. I am shocked that this place continues in business serving product like this and calling it quality. Will not recommend them to anyone. read more

Ligers Bakery is a bad place to get a cake from the owner and his wife are both crooks the cakes are disgusting and my cake I paid $540 for was extremely salty! The owner agreed to fix it and he didn't told me he would fix the cake and have not heard back from him since. I been waiting on a call from him for 3 days now every time I call they say he is away or in a meeting. I called from the parking lot and they said he was gone for the day so I went in and he was behind the counter was VERY DISRESPECTFUL. I wouldn't recommend this business. read more

Ummm why is this place located in such a random sketchy area? I have not seen a bakery like this in a while... Big selection and their cookies taste homemade... Not factory made. Liger's is legendary and continues to live up to the standard. I think almost everyone has gotten a birthday cake from here at some point in their lives, and I love popping in for fresh breads and Swedish Butter Cookies. read more

Best red velvet cake ever, been finding excuses to keep buying cakes.

We went in searching for pies on a Saturday morning and the counter girl was helping a customer and we were third in line - just looking at the choices. An older lady came to the counter from the back and curtly asked us what we needed. My husband pointed to another man and said , " He was next." She looked and him and walked back to the back, intentionally ignoring him! Then the counter girl was able to assist him and while she was doing that, the older lady came back to the counter and asked us again in a very impatient tone, " what do you need?" I answered and said I was looking for pies when she interrupted harshly, "What about them?" At that point I was afraid to say what I needed as she snapped at us even again about the selection! We told her no thank you that we'll go buy at another bakery and left . I have thought highly of the quality of this bakery in the last year but will not use them again or recommend them to the many people I talk to with this type of service and the location is out of my way. read more

I went in several weeks ago and meant to post this comment sooner. I would have put 1 star but the petits fours were soo delicious that I added an extra star. The cupcakes were the problem. They looked and tasted just like the cupcakes you can buy from walmart that are packaged in the plastic box.. It was truly lacking in taste and they were very dry. The icing was hard as well. I paid way too much for 3 stale Wal-Mart cupcakes. read more

If I could give a 0 I would. First the price range stated is a joke. Today I paid $61.00 for a Red Velvet cake that resembled nothing more that a dried white cake dyed red and plain white icing. 20 years ago Liger's was one of the best now I would take a Little Debbie cake over them any day of the week. I'm really not sure if the people giving 4 and 5 stars have ever really had a good cake. So sad :( read more

Cakes and petit fours are the best! Doughnuts are pretty good but others in my family think they are great. The location of this store could be better but this is a classic bakery in Montgomery and I will always remember with fondness my birthday cakes with pink and yellow roses growing up. MMMMMM.....wish I could wrap my lips around a slice now! read more
