They have all mod cons and laundry facilities are located on site. We stayed there for New Year for a week and had a lovely time, the locals are friendly and in the cottage there is a book which recommends local places to visit and where to eat. The price of the cottages is excellent value and worth every penny. The farm is owned by a local family and were very efficient in all dealings for booking the cottages. Ideal for weekend breaks also. We spend seven days there and could have stayed another week theres so much to do. The cottage we stayed in is upsidedown so we slept downstairs. This is excellent as you can eat your breakfast upstairs and see the beautiful views from the windows.

There are flagstone floors and lots of rood panelling. There's an extensive menu with a range of full meals, and hot and cold sandwiches, and a good range of real ales. In our party the £10 Sunday Roast went down very well, with generous portions and huge Yorkshire puddings. The £12 veggie burger (minced mushroom) was very good and also generously portioned and cake with sweet potato chips and coleslaw. For s busy Sunday, service was very quick and friendly. So, not the cheapest venue but good value if you can manage the portions.

The breakfast room had a lovely view of the turn in the canal. You can easily walk into Nottingham centre along the canal too, where you can get to the cool bars that are on the canal. If you go along canal the opposite way you will meet the Trent river and have a smashing view of Notts Forests City grounds. It's a nice walk too, during which we saw a family of Canada Geese. I guess it'd be a pretty handy hotel for the of Notts Forests games, as well as any of the cricket games at Trent Bridge.

The room is updated, clean and seems well looked after and well presented. Nothing fancy yet smart and comfortable. The hotel was pretty much full but didn't seem loud or noisy around here. I'm one of those who collects pillows as always wake up with a stiff or sore neck). Gym:is small but functional. I got up for an early run but one treadmill was out of order and the other in use so I settled for a little static bike ride (at least I moved a bit before breakfast!). Breakfast was very good for the hotel price range, I had some eggs, a piece of toast and banana with yogurt. There was much more selection than that though!, sweet pastries, more fruits, cereals, hot food and you could make your own waffles! (I thought that was cute but I resisted the urge... Not on holiday, couldn't justify it ). I didn't have dinner at the hotel as the selection was lacking. But I'm glad I walked to the sushi place around the corner instead. Will definitely like to come back while on business trip.

This stay has been fine, staff are great, friendly and helpful. But only thing was housekeeping didn't fill up the shower gel, for 2 days! Luckily I had a travel size bottle in my bag. I will tell reception when I check out.
