The misleading business logo
Jordan N.

Unfortunately I'm giving this not a great review - I was tricked inside because of: 1) The name: Little Habana tells me it's Cuban. and So Little Habana Bakery tells me it should have been a Cuban bakery 2) The logo consist of a girl that is flanked with two flags: a Cuban one, and a Puerto Rican one - so I assumed that maybe there's a possible Puerto Rican influence And so I walked in - imagine my surprise and disappointment when I saw NOTHING that is either Cuban OR Puerto Rican. It's all and completely Mexican. Hence the one-star review - horrible name that doesn't fit the place, and false advertising through using the wrong flags on the logo. Why would they do this, I have no idea. Maybe a Mexican family bought out the previous owner? I don't know since I do not even know if this place used to exist in another form at the same spot. Perhaps if I was rating this place as a Mexican bakery, the review may come out to be better. But I unfortunately don't have much of an interest in Mexican bakeries. For those who do, know that they seem to be known to make the Mexican bread called pan ranchero. And they have the typical Mexican breads with sugar on top (aka conchas).

My lil girl loved it

The pastries tasted like they had a hint of paint, they were stale and did not taste good.

Today I picked up my gender reveal cake from a different bakery. We do gluten free- loosely for my…read morekids so that's what I got- had to drive a ways too. When I picked it up, it did not look like my inspiration pictures. There were purple flowers on the sides with pink one (no purple in the inspiration pic), no pearls, no vintage lattice work-just pipped the flowers on the sides with green stems (no stems in the pic) and the top writing. I was disappointed. I asked them to include blue flowers to balance out that it felt a little too girly, and they went back and added them which made it look better. I am not sure if the inspo pics got lost in the shuffle or if too much creative lee-way was taken but either way, I felt a little let down but was not going to let it ruin my day. However, on the drive home I still felt like it was pretty, but just not what I had in mind. I decided to call Bittersweet which is local to us and ask if they could add a few elements like the lattice and pearls. Faith was so kind on the phone and told me to bring it in being also clear that they aren't gluten free. I understood, but since we don't have true allergies I told her I was comfortable with them fixing it. It would not medically harm anyone if there was cross contamination. When I got there I showed her the original picture and sent it to her personal phone. Later I went to pick it up after taking my little to lunch, it came out it and was FANTASTIC! They added all the elements it was missing that I wanted and loved. It still doesn't exactly match my pictures but it looks SO cute now and I am very very happy! When I went to pay, she told me to just go enjoy my cake and that they were happy to help. THIS is how you win business, friends!! ANYTIME, I am ordering goodies, back to school treats for teachers, holiday yummies or cakes that aren't for my GF kids, I will be getting them from Bittersweet!!!! Thank you, Faith!!!

On a road trip heading up to Dallas, we made sure to make Collin Street Bakery a pit stop on our trip, and wow this place did not disappoint! They have lots of dine-in eating space, plenty of displays for you to look at the variety of food, a full fledged kitchen that you can have any kind of food to eat, a bunch of samples for you to try and especially the fruitcake! The staff are nice and friendly, I interacted with an employee on her first month at work, and she did a great job! When you go to the actual store, there have a huge variety of cookies and various treats, I've tried most of them and they are all delicious! I hate to say it, but I'm not the biggest fan of fruitcake, but having the samples are good enough for me when I stop by!

All I can say is WOW! This may be the best restaurant in Ennis. My husband ordered the steak…read moresandwich, and the moment he took the first bite, his eyes lit up. I had the carbonara, and honestly, it was almost too pretty to eat. The service was a little slow, but it actually gave us time to soak in the atmosphere and admire how beautiful the restaurant is inside. The vibe? Absolutely check. The cocktails were not our favorite, but that definitely won't stop us from coming back to try other drinks on the menu. What makes this place even more special is that it's a true mom-and-pop restaurant sourcing food locally. You really can't beat that. Supporting local while getting an amazing meal is always a win.

Pink and honest in the middle, warm and willing, bread holding it all together like a good road holding a long drive. Nothing flashy, nothing trying too hard just flavor that knew where it came from and didn't apologize. The arugula salad came sharp and clean, green with intent, that bitter edge that wakes you up a little and reminds you you're still alive. It wasn't there to impress you. It was there to balance things out, like a deep breath between sentences. I drank Earl Grey tea, steam rising slow, bergamot drifting up like memory, like train smoke somewhere far off. It felt right. The kind of tea you drink when you're not rushing anywhere, when the world can spin without you for a moment and that's okay. Fern in the Wild isn't trying to reinvent eating. It's doing something better. It's paying attention. To ingredients. To pace. To the quiet pleasure of a meal done right. I left feeling fed in more ways than one--like I'd stopped long enough to hear myself think. That's rare. That's worth something. I'll be back.

First, we were notified it had shipped. Today, we got a notice that instead of the Classic Fruitcake, Pecan Pie, and cookie assortment contained in the Christmas Sampler, they substituted four pecan pies. NOT appropriate and not happy. This is a senior couple who do receive guests, but four pecan pies?! Would have been nice to receive some kind of notification of the need to substitute and a better choice of items. Update: Jan 14, 2026 I never change my star rating on a review. This is an exception. I noted previously that my Christmas Sampler order was completely changed and delivered, but not what we ordered, and had no benefit of being notified of the change, nor a choice of a new gift. However, our recipient received their gift and notified me that they received not four pecan pies, as I'd thought, but four fruit cakes. This might have been a problem for someone else, but our recipient loved the fruit cakes! Glad she's a fan!
