This is a new little book box, sponsored by the city of Dublin. They commissioned artists to decorate about a dozen different book boxes, each one located in a different city park. This book box is located in the most famous of Dublin's parks. It's right in the center of the Heritage Park, close to the information booth. It's obviously brand new, brightly decorated, and stocked with new condition books. Be sure to check out the attractive artwork on the sides and especially the rear of the book box. Located in front of the Washington County Court House, this library is painted in the blue and gold colors of one of the international civic organizations. The box has clearly been here a while as the paint is peeling in some areas, the screws are rusted and some of the wood is separated. That said, the interior of the library is dry and that's good. There were no books in the library. Completely empty except for a card with a Bible quote. This is charter number 53633 and the steward has their name in the online listing which includes this caption, "This Little Free Library is sponsored by Tershel & Associates. This LFL is located next to the Washington County Court House on the corner of S. Main and Cherry Street. This library serves the community with free books for all ages and encourages the growth of literacy. The library was locally build and managed by a Tershel employee. Be sure to check this one out!" This is the main site for the Little Free Library program. I love this program. We have several little libraries in our general vicinity, in the San Francisco East Bay, north of Berkeley. There's one on the way to our house where I have dropped off books and taken one or two. They also have a little food library next to it and I have bought groceries at Trader Joe's to put in it. These libraries are a gift to the community. I just read about this library, one of the coolest ever. It's not small, although it is officially one of the Little Free Libraries. Yelp recently merged several of these Little Free Library locations, and this location is not physically located in WI, but California. Unfortunately I am unable to recall the address of this specific location, but below was the original review. ************************************************ Original review of that location: This was the first on a short Little Free Library jaunt. I wasn't feeling very well this weekend, so I was pretty excited that we we able to do at least a few before the workweek started! This LFL had a cute little mish mash of books of different genres and age ranges and was very sweetly decorated with a little scene on both sides. It We didn't end up taking anything, but left a book for another visitor. I went between a 4 and a 5 on this one because I felt like the books could have been of a higher quality (very bargain bin) but a lot of love was put into this space (and the cute little cobble stones that surrounded it) so I stuck with my gut. We ran across this little library while taking a walk. Its located inside of the State campgrounds a few feet away from the ranger entrance and close to the stairs that lead to the beach. The Little Free Library provides free books, and asks for you to donate books also in return in order to keep it stocked. The idea is that you can take a book, and bring a book. This is actually the second one we ran into in the past 3 months (The other one I found is in North Carlsbad), so we came back and brought some books from home to add them to the little library. This is an excellent idea! I love the Little Free Libraries! read more

Since it is located right beside a playground, it makes sense to have only children's books. It is actually pretty thoughtful for the adults to filter out the adult books for this location. Beware: This LFL is located in a gated community. I was able to drive through in Sunday morning. I cannot say if the community will be locked down after a certain hour. read more

I am not sure if everybody is even aware of these little gems tucked away in neighborhoods all over the twin cities. If you see a little wooden house in front of a home or business pay attention it is not a birdhouse---it is quite possibly a little lending library. What a fantastic organization to encourage and support literacy and the love of reading. I frequently stop in and see if there is any book that may be of interest to me and also put books inside if i have them....you can find all sorts of information if you check out their website. I have been to at least five locations just in Hudson alone and have found myself a book worth my time on several occasions. I did not have to spend one dime--I love it! read more

This little free library is well maintained and taken care of. It also is in a quiet place in a large front yard and a bench.
