Lake Worth has plenty of LFL in the city and it's fun discovering them as I explore the city. I found this one as I was on the way to El Pueblo Chapin restaurant, (which is an excellent Guatemalan restaurant by the way). The box is well maintained and beautifully painted.

Inside are two shelves. Most of the books are hardcovers lying on their side but the paperbacks were easy to spot. Some fiction, some thriller, a copy of the great Charlotte's Web and some mystery novels. Great options. This is charter number 80598. While the steward's name is not on the Little Free Library database map, it does have this caption, "Our LFL is inspired by our family's love of reading! The box is located in Sara Sims park south of the racquetball courts. It is a single post with a door and no shelves inside. Today, the contents looked to be some magazines and other books. From the library, there is a view of the beach and the grassy areas and it's a great spot to literally pick up your beach reading. I'm not sure if this is the same library as charter 28366 since that one has a sloped rood and this one has a peaked roof. Both have hand-drawn paintings, but they look different. As such, I'm thinking they are different. The library is blue with a yellow roof. A single door secured with an eye hook. Inside, a single shelf with a few books. These aren't "borrow" books like they are at the regular library - these are FREE. Perfect for beach reading! The library box is located at the south end of the boardwalk of Oceanfront Park. The box is white and beige and has a single door. Mostly soft covers and some thin books today. A wide variety including the one that based the movie The Help and a Dean Koontz. The City of Sunrise is the first city in South Florida to install Little Free Libraries in its…read moremunicipality. This one was installed back in February 2013 as part of a service learning project by students in the Sunrise Leadership Academy. The Little Free Library movement started in Wisconsin in 2009. By installing little bookshelves in communities, the "librarians" hope to promote literacy and the love of reading, as well as a sense of neighborhood, by building free book exchanges worldwide. The concept is "Take a Book, Leave a Book." You are welcome to drop off your gently used books, and to help yourself to anything that catches your fancy. It's a library with no late fee! This one, built right by the playground in the park, is in a great location. I can imagine parents and children checking out the books, after an energetic hour in the playground. However, there doesn't seem to be a lot of usage though. Most of the time I pass by the library (repurposed from a newspaper stand) is rather empty. Hopefully more people will discover and use this little gem!

It seems like the aisles kept going, and there was a huge back room full of more aisles of books, And they have a nice section of comic books also which was cool. I thought the section for comic books wasn't as large as I was hoping, but still cool, and I had plenty to go through. Also there is a case with some rare ones also. The staff was really friendly and helpful. My husband found a really cool Star Wars item there he was happy. They also have a small selection of collectible toys. Went walking around more and they have children's book section with vintage books, I had when I was a kid definitely had to take one home. The prices are very good here and reasonable. If you're a book lover, this is definitely a good place for you. You will be pleasantly surprised. If I were in the area of North Palm Beach I will definitely stop in again.

Some of the books looked old and rare. I recognized Hardy Boy books back from my mothers childhood stash. There is also an entire room filled with collectibles and comics. I didn't need any help but the friendly gentleman running the store that day was at the ready to answer questions. Hard and soft cover books are half off whatever they are priced at on the inside cover. They had a great election of Agatha Christie mysteries which are always a favorite. In a time when so many independent book stores have gone under it was a pure delight to discover Book Exchange and Comic Shop. The intoxicating smell of the store is familiar to anyone who loves books. You can order books online but there is something so satisfying about going into a bookstore and holding the books in your hands as you make your decision. Visiting this store is a great way to save money as you add to TBR pile.
