Great little gem found here. In a old DQ this place has lots of seats and items on the menu. Was it good...you bet for the two visits I paid while camping at the near by State Park. I had the #301 the Chopped Steak with onions and mushrooms with gravy on top which followed a nice salad. Rounding out the meal was a bunch of steak cut French fries and garlic bread. I could not eat it all. The second meal was a Meat lovers omelet with hash browns (made from scratch). I think the best I ever had. Oh and breakfast is served all day. The above also includes a biscuit. I live about an hour away but will make the trip for some more but with out the camping. read more

The owner was the sole person working when we stopped in for a meal. He was pleasant and personable. However the food was only okay, at best. My wife and I both ordered a meal with hash browns. Mine was a daily special, which as a combination, wouldn't normally include hash browns. He must have been needing to get rid of them, because though they were freshly cooked, they tasted old. Not reheated, old. My wife ordered fish as her main dish. She's from Louisiana, and loves seafood. She was sorely disappointed in the fish. My main dish was a chicken wrap that had plenty of chicken, but was a bit dry and almost tasteless. It didn't taste bad, it just didn't taste like much of anything. The owner/cook/waiter seems like a decent fellow, and I wish him the best for his restaurant, but I don't think we'll be back. read more

We were passing through looking for breakfast places. Not too many in Cooper. Walk in the old, moldy smell hits you. We were the only people in the restaurant. Ordered food, took awhile for the one server/cook to take drink orders. Food comes out and looks "ok". However, The ketchup bottle had mold all over it and the bottled hot sauce was out of date by 4 years. The gravy had hunks of flour and huge black spots. Biscuits were hard as a rock. Pretty sure all the food was expired as well. Everything from the table to the silverware had a film on it. Needless to say we tried a few bites, paid and got the heck out of there. Yes, we paid!! Definitely will not be back!!! Still terrified we are going to end up with food poisoning. read more

This was indeed a place to remember in my books. I was headed back home from a long camping journey with my lady and had about 3 hours of driving ahead of us. Nearly the end, we started to get hungry and I was suggesting the good ole Buckees. I'm mean, clean toilets, cheap food, and fast service, who wouldn't right? Well boy was I wrong! We ending up taking our chances and stopped at this one restaurant for a quick bite to eat. The owner was sitting in his car eagerly waiting for some customers and thank god for us, we had some hungry tummy's that pointed us this way. We were getting top notch service from the owner himself. From opening shop, to cooking our delicious food, I can see how hard this man works to make sure his customers are happy and full. During Corona, times can be tough to keep the lights on, I hope this review helps in any way because people like him deserve every bit of it. I ended up leaving with the other half of my sandwich because it was just so filling. This will def leave a mark for me to come back again. read more

Stop reading these reviews and just go!!! We were on a road trip and just happened in here. The burgers were phenomenal! This is a good old fashioned diner complete with greasy tables and smoky kitchen! Haha. The iced tea is probably the best I've ever had but it was probably the atmosphere that made it better!!! The owner , Elias, is so proud of America and living in Texas. Go have an iced tea or a cup of coffee and hear his story. We will be back from Fort Worth to support him and visit again soon. read more

My husband and I ordered two burgers and fries. The burgers were great. The only complaint that we have is that the place got a little Smokey from the cooking. He may need to clean the kitchen vent. The owner was so friendly and so personable. read more

Our camping group ate here just as he was closing the door. He was so nice he open just for us had no other help and cooked 12 meals that were fabulous. It was so good we all we all came the next morning for breakfast and had a similar experience wonderful place. read more

I used to eat at Elias place in Plano when I lived there. I recently found out he was here and drove all the way to see him and his Little Chef Resturant in Copper. He made a Spanish omelette that was perfect. Unfortunately the waitress wasn't into her job( I ask her two simple questions she couldn't answer) but otherwise it was great. read more

The Little Chef is a small family owned restaurant and is a must stop for anyone passing through. Not only was the food some of the best we ever had, but the owner went out of his way to make sure our food and experience were perfect. We decided to stop by on the way back from Beavers Bend and couldn't find the hours online, but when we showed up they were closing but the owner insisted we still come inside and he would cook for us. We really appreciated this and you can see how much he cares for his business and customer. We were the only customers and our food was hot and delicious. I got the BLT Club sandwich with fries and a coke, and that sandwich was stacked. My boyfriend got the patty melt and it was perfect! The patty melt had warm buttered toast, flavorful meat, hot cheese melting from it, and the perfectly grilled onions. We will definitely be coming back anytime we pass through the area! The Little Chef was definitely worth the stop! read more

I really hate to write this review because we REALLY liked this little restaurant. There weren't a lot of options in Cooper but we were excited to see that we could have home cooked breakfast for lunch! The owner, Elias, came out and talked to us. He was personable and obvious that he new what he was doing in the kitchen. The waitress was sweet to my son and shifted him to a great mood. The place was clean and had plenty of tables to sit at. My husband ordered the chicken fried steak and stated that it was THE BEST he's ever had. I had a bite and I agree. My son had pancakes which he gobbled up. I had an omelet which was tasty, but I especially loved the hashbrowns. They were crisp and slightly burnt which is just how I love them. This is where the review goes south. And again... I hesitated writing it. My daughter ordered the eggs benedict, something that she loves which is unusual for an eleven year old. What she got was questionable. The eggs had no yolks and the sauce used was not the normal benedict sauce. It covered the plate and had an off color. My husband described it as tangy gravy when he tried a little of it. I tried it and questioned sending it back. It looked like something that had been frozen and reheated and revived with egg yolk or something. I wish I had sent it back. My daughter ate about a third of it before stating that it wasn't sitting right with her. And later that night, she unleashed the kraken. Poor baby had food poisoning so bad that she was out of school the next day lethargic and in pain from throwing up so violently (during a tornado no less). None of us got sick thankfully and her doctor confirmed that it was food poisoning. She and I had shared most of our food on our trip, splitting meals so we know that it was the shady eggs benedict that gave it to her. Everything else was amazing and I would have given five stars, but seeing my baby so sick... I couldn't give more than two. read more

Had the daily special omelet and it had lunch meat ham. The "gravy" for biscuits was chunky cream of chicken soup. I paid over $14 for this with iced tea. My friend and I were the only two in the place at 1:30pm and our food took over 20 minutes. We will definitely seek out another place when in the area. read more

Oh my goodness! This place is absolutely wonderful! If you want some great homemade cooking, this is the place to come. I personally had the greatest all meat omelette that came with homemade, fresh hash browns and wheat toast! It was sdo big I had to take half of it home. Great place to eat. Some of us had breakfast (servers all day) and some had the the lunch menu. The good was great and so was the service. We are from Dallas and travel to Broken Bow a couple times a year. This is not a required stop a long the way. read more

We were driving home to Frisco, TX and stopped off for lunch. I ordered the Pile Up, which was delicious- served with homemade hash browns. On top of great food, the service we received was awesome. The owner came out and chatted with us for quite some time, which really made the experience. Do be warned though: hardest part will be choosing what you order- SO many enticing options!
