Big Foot is the real deal- the only thing missing from Granville County's (perhaps the Triangle's?)…read morebest (I'd say only) purveyor of whole hog barbecue is a brick-and-mortar location, but that's not a deal-breaker for me. Big Foot makes what old timers sit around and talk about when they discuss their archetypal pig-pickin', that is to say: slow-cooked (locally-farmed) whole hog, on charcoal and wood smoke, served chopped with plenty of bark, with sides that make sense. The ribs are country-style: thick, still juicy, with a bit of snap, and with a perfect bone-to-lean ratio. They do bird, too, and do it surprisingly well. Their smoked chickens are moist and delicious, and perfect for Sunday dinner. Want a real treat? Try their smoked chicken salad on some Strong Arm focaccia one afternoon. Sauces vary to please the discerning BBQ palate, but there's nothing over-the-top. This isn't competition barbecue, it's barbecue that people line up for on Sunday afternoon, it's the kind of barbecue that people seek out when they are driving through Granville County on the way home from Virginia, because if you know, you know (and want). Kelly and team sometimes go off piste with some more creative sides, but again, they make sense, like the barbecue/collards/sometimes Mac-and-cheese egg rolls that show up in a catering spread. You should always choose their fantastic string beans (get anything green on the side, for that matter). Big Foot pops up in the Triangle, so be on the lookout- it's authentic, pork-and-smoke-forward North Carolina barbecue, a whole-hog experience that will not disappoint. Until there's a brick and mortar, you can find their next service on Instagram and Facebook.

The quality of the food was amazing and they were able to accommodate people in our group who are vegetarian. The sauces were delicious! I would highly recommend Kelly and his team for any function you may have a need for catering! We will absolutely be working with them again in the future!

A mediterranean style interior with an Italian influence. High ceilings, and lots of art on the walls. A tv with sports playing up by the bar area. Our kind and friendly server came by our booth within a minute or so and took our drink requests and got our appetizer going all at the same time. For starters we went with the Fried Calamari, this is first rate golden brown, tender to the bite and juicy with a great marinara for dipping. Some of the best we have had around. We gave the menu a good look over, a well rounded menu with something for pretty much every taste. I opted for the Austrailian Chicken, with bacon, mushrooms and cheddar along a nice rustic potato mash with a side green salad. The chicken was very good, nicely prepared with a unique finish. Tender and flavorful, two grilled boneless breasts covered with bacon. This is a hearty meal, great flavor and a fair value for the serving. My partner had the Chicken Pot Pie, a beautiful presentation and well prepared. A large serving with a flaky baked crust topping. She said it was very good as well. They have a pretty good dessert selection too, I went for the Heath bar cheese cake and it was exceptionally good. Rich, creamy toffee flavor. 4.5 Stars All in all a solid choice, rounded up for all of the great staff 01260

We were there to meet an old friend so we mostly just talked. However, our waitress made sure our drinks were topped off and our every need was met. There were other things on the menu I wanted to try. That being said, I would go there again in a minute. Give them a try- I can recommend them.

I pulled into the gravel lot in front of the Buy Rite and had trouble finding a spot to park. Clearly they were busy for lunch. The exterior and interior don't do much to provide ambiance per se. The interior is part general store, part restaurant, and part screen printing business. Everyone in front of me was ordering fried chicken (and being told they'd have it in 12-15 minutes). But me? I was there for a hot dog. I ordered one all the way with no onions, fries, and got a fountain drink. I stood around the screen printing machines until my number was called then took my order to the car as all of the inside seating was taken up. Five people who, seemingly knew each other, all sitting at different tables. Didn't leave much room for anybody else. The hot dog was ok. They had forgotten to leave the onions off. The chili had good flavor but the slaw was boring. The fries didn't have any seasoning on them. All in all, just a disappointing experience for me. That being said, I'd definitely return for friend chicken someday.
