We order our drinks and then wait, and wait. We finally get up to just start eating off the buffet. They had several pizzas sitting out that appeared to be setting out for a little while. But it's pizza so how bad could it be. Well I found out... and it's bad. And by bad, I mean Little Caesar's is better. So as we sit down with our first plate, the power shuts off because the electric company is working on it. So we eat in the dark and silence. The pizza is like warm and taste a little like school cafeteria food. We finish and pay and find out the buffet is $10.59! The buffet wasn't worth 5.99. I hate to be mean but there is just no way I can say that this is a good place. The only reason I didn't give it one star is because our waitress was very nice.

Everything tasted pretty good, but it all seems to come straight from the Sysco Corporation. The menu does extend to dinner options, sandwiches, pastas, and salads, and they also offer pizza. On our visit we didn't try any of these options, but if we ever return I'll extend further into the menu for sure.

The crust was thin, rubbery, and tough with no flavor. There was far too much red sauce which was completely unseasoned and far too little cheese - and from me that's really saying something because I'm not a big fan of cheese. On the plus side there are many options for build your own: 3 sizes of pizza and numerous toppings including unusual ones like mango salsa, zuchini, brisket, chorizo, and pulled pork. The menu mentions "farm to table" but doesn't elaborate so it's rather meaningless. I think some of the vegetables are grown on local farms. The menu does list the source of their flour, a small Kentucky mill. That's appreciated, but it's a real shame they don't know how to make it into a decent crust! After pouring over the toppings list for too long I finally decided on chorizo, chicken, jalapeño, mushroom, and onions. Topping portions were generous. I will say that the jalapeños I got on mine were exceptionally good and I really liked the chorizo. It can get busy here. Order at the counter and get a beeper and food is brought when ready. It didn't take long, 10-15 minutes I'd say. Practically no cell service but the wifi was good. For adult beverages, a large beer selection, drafts and cans, emphasis on local craft brands. Not sure about hard liquor. For wine, it's only sold in full bottles. I guess they don't sell enough to keep open bottles fresh? The plastic forks were the cheapest available, with tines that melted as soon as they touched the food. Doesn't anybody test these? So while I appreciated the flexibility of 3 sizes, and the many topping options and their quality, overall it was a disappointment and I wouldn't go back.

When I returned on June 28th, they remade the cheese stick, and I checked it in the parking lot and got the same result. I went back in, got many excuses, and asked for a 10 and an 8. They said to come back in 10 minutes. I came back and got a 19-inch trash bin again. There was no adhesion for the cheese. They refused to replace it. I was told that is how the manager trained them to do it. I figured I would wait a few days for the new owner and see what he would do. He made excuses and told me to talk to the old owner. I have a sneaking feeling that even though he said he fired many of the people, the ones that were an issue are still there, like the manager who told them how to make it. I do not know for sure; it's just a feeling. If the process is as he tried to explain it to me, there is no wonder it is not working right at times. I also asked other Giovannis how I would replicate it, but they had no idea and were concerned about how it was done. I will include a picture of what I got the last time. I showed it to them before even leaving the establishment. I will drive to a different county if I want Giovanni's. I figured I would edit it and add this. This travesty is not one visit. It is two visits and three cheese sticks over three weeks, just in case you think it was a fluke. Two cheese sticks were done back to back.
