Came here in about 2019/2020. We figured we'd give them another chance. 2nd chance, definitely a place we won't be returning to. The 1st time we went, the crust was underdone and so much cornmeal underneath, it was ridiculous. This time, we tried the pizza fries and realized mine were better. Their fries were overcooked, hard, no flavor, so much cheese and hardly any meat. Portion was so small, it was an appetizer for one person. The pizza, somehow they burnt the crust and the underneath was, again, underdone. The toppings like bacon I think it was so overdone it was like chewing on rocks. We have been looking for really good local pizza here in Grayson. We tried this out last week. It was just ok. The tortilla chicken spinach is good but the texture gets a bit chewy. Johnny's pizza place in my town would most likely be voted as the best pizza restaurant in town. It's a sit in or take out restaurant with plenty of room to dine in, pick up or even have it delivered. I personally recommend the fully loaded Calzone it may be a little pricey however will usually last you two meals out of one order. Their pizza and calzones are hand made and baked on the order so while you are waiting for that hot delicious order get yourself one of their delicious salads, they also serve many different types of hot made to order sandwiches. The restaurant area is always very clean and they give you service with a smile. read more

I've tried the Italian sub - delicious however idk if they had all my favorite toppings (onion, pickles mayo and Italian dressing- yes please!) now the buffalo chicken (let's add celery shall we?) Stopped by on our way through town, going back to our hometown near Columbus. It was late (8:30 or so) and I asked if it was too late for a carry out. You see, my teenage son was "StArViNg". Johnny's Pizza is a locally owned family business that sells your standard pizzeria afair such as wings, bread sticks, pasta, salads, pizza, etc. My first impressions were a mixed bag of positive and negative. I was not greeted at the door and wasn't sure if I sat myself or to wait on staff for seating. Luckily there is a rather inconspicuous sign that stated, seat yourself. The restaurants aesthetic was pleasing to the eye, the restaurant as a whole appeared very clean, and there was soft playing county music playing in the background. The seating arrangements left a little to be desired, however. The chairs were low to the ground and not comfortable at all. The table was covered in a cheap vinyl tablecloth. The restrooms were clean, stocked with the the necessary supplies, but the women's automated soap dispenser wasn't working which is problematic in the current COVID-19 pandemic. The service was probably by in large the biggest let down of the whole dinning experience. We had a nice young lady who was very pleasant, but very inattentive. We had to wait long periods of time for refills, extra napkins which weren't readily available for some reason, and to pay for our meal. Now onto the food! We ordered a large three topping pizza and an order of pickle chips for a starter while we waited. The pickle chips came out in a timely fashion and appeared to be freshly made, but the coating wasn't at all crisp. Overall still good. The house ranch served with the pickle chips was on point. The pizza was fresh, hot, crisp, and loaded with plenty of toppings. The cheese was nice and gooey, pepperonis were nice and crisp. Overall a very good pizza. Overall, I would eat here again and it's worth stopping in if you're ever in Grayson. read more

Johnny's is the best restaurant in the tri-state and it's not close! You can travel far and wide and not find better pizza, wings and service. I would HIGHLY recommend most anything on their menu(especially that brownie sunday!) Chris and Brooke run a top-notch establishment and I am proud to be a frequent customer! The food here has its own unique taste, there is no other restaurant around I can even compare it to. The staff is always nice and very accommodating. Every time we eat here the food is hot, delicious and looks so good you can't wait to gobble it down. My kids absolutely love the fettuccine Alfredo and my husband can't get enough of their home made lasagna. I've been eating at Johnny's since the beginning. Since the new owners took over the qua of food has went down hill. We like to support local businesses but they are really making it hard. The wait staff really seem to struggle. The last 3 times no refills on drinks were offered, if multiple people are at one table the food never comes out at one time, sometimes up to 10 minutes difference. Hopefully they get a grasp before it crashes. read more

While traveling back home to NJ we stopped at Johnny's Pizza mostly due to good reviews here. We weren't disappointed. A light and thin crust that held up to well to the mostly meat toppings. Extra cheese on the pizza made for melted bliss. One of the best pizzas we've eaten on a road trip. We will be back again! read more

2017-06-19 Visit: Me and my son was visiting for a geocaching event at Grayson Lake. Afterwards we was hungry and I wanted to try out their pizza. So me and my son ordered a large with extra cheese and pineapple. Also we got a side of garlic cheesy bread. The cheesy garlic bread, I really couldnt taste the garlic. I wondered if they messed up and gave us cheesy bread instead. But it wasnt bad, but wasnt great. it was just ok. The Pizza... when I first look at it, I didnt think I was going to like it. Right away I can tell it was very thin crust which usually means it will be black on the bottom. I call it burnt but chefs say that is the way pizza are suppose to be. I look right away and it wasnt black at all. and I could tell they had corn meal all over the bottom of it. Hmmmm I might like was my first thought. and I did. the crust was a little on the sweet side but good. and the cheese and pineapple was very good. it could have used a little more sauce but might be light becuase of the thin crust. All in all, I like the pizza very much. If was good but def unique.. I never had pizza like this before.. the only complaint I had on the pizza is the way it was cut. if was a round pizza but they cut it in squares. but the squares was very small. and made it difficult to eat. it was cut like it was suppose to be appetizers and not a meal. me and my son keep having to get another piece. and we was taking 3 squares at atime.. I can imagine buying pizza when you have company or family over. this isnt slice to feed people. I would return and get the pizza again but ask them to cut it differently, like a normal pizza pie into large triangles. I up my rating from a 3 to 4 cause I am def a fan of this place. read more

All we can say is WOW! My son is disappointed because there isn't a Johnny's Pizza by us in Virginia. He said if he could franchise one, we need it in Alexandria, VA. We started with the ravioli appetizer. Absolutely delicious! We thoroughly enjoyed a large pizza. Dough has a nice sweet taste. Red sauce is amazing on both pizza and ravioli. Wish we weren't just trying adding through & could try more if their menu. Friendly service. We did take away, but they have nice seating. I was down here doing some work for my employer, had one of my coworkers bring a pepperoni pizza in from here. All I have to say is PERFECT, not just perfect but I mean PERFECT. the crust (what little bit of crust that I could find) had the exact amount or crunch that I like, the cheese was just like what you see on a commercial, the sauce had a sweet tang to it, the pepperonis edges had the exact burnt edge that had curled up. This is a pizza joint that I would definitely recommend to my friends and I will be coming back when I come into town again. In short DELICIOUS FOOD AND I WILL BE RETURNING AGAIN FOR MORE. Love Johnny's sub sandwiches and spaghetti and lasagna. Lots of food for the price. The bread that the subs are served on is terrific and the meat used for the Stromboli is very similar to the taste of a meatball and is not a frozen patty. The food was excellent. My party enjoyed everything from the salad to the lasagna to the pizza. Everything was fairly priced (or in our favor) and the service was phenomenal. Our server was prompt, courteous, and had good intuition shown when we asked for two boxes and without a second look showed up with a needed pizza box and standard take-away box. read more
