They actually have a really large menu for a small spot. They are closer to Crooked Can. There are some seats at their spot (similar to bar seats), but most people get their food to go and eat around Plant Street. Plant Street is a market that has tons of permanent vendors, most of which are food. This spot is truly Italian specializing in pizza but there are other options as well. Some of those options include stromboli's, wings, and sandwiches. They have a few different specialty pizza selections but then you can also create your own. We like to create our own but all their specialty pizzas sounded absolutely delicious. Next time, I think we will pick one of the specialty ones. We went with just pepperoni and bacon. The bacon was hardly present but did give a nice saltiness to the pizza. The pizza was on the thinner side which I love, it was crispy on the edges and just a really great pizza. We actually ordered it with the intention of taking it home for the next day, but it was so good, we ended up eating it all that night. Something we wanted but we were so full from other food options at Plant Street was the CHEESY BREAD which has Roasted Garlic Oil fired with Prosciutto, Mozzarella, Provolone & Gorgonzola. This is something we will for sure be getting next time. It sounded so great! For pizza we will be getting the BUFFALO CHICKEN which is Hot Wing Sauce Base, Roasted Chicken, Gorgonzola, Provolone, Mozzarella...Finished with Celery. Their options are just really great. The servers were super friendly as well. They will take your phone number and text you when its ready. This way you can go walk around, grab a table, grab a beer from Crooked Can and wait for your food. This is definitely a spot you need to try out when you are at Plant Street! Great food, great employees and a fun atmosphere.

Oh my goodness--the pizza was amazing! I ordered the 3 Meat pizza, and it was absolutely delicious. It had been a long time since I'd had such a great New York-style pizza. The crust wasn't too thin or too thick--it had the perfect texture with a nice chew. Every bite was satisfying, and we both finished our pizzas without leaving a slice behind! The staff were friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better. We'll definitely be coming back again!

But, Papa John's, Pizza Hut, Little Caesars and countless smaller shops have managed to absolutely trash that basic premise of what makes a pizza such a simply satisfying meal. The proprietor doesn't want a good pizza. He wants everyone to experience a great pizza. There is so much pride in how every single component is exceptional in quality. It shows and tastes exceptional. We tried a the Nonna NY style pie and a the house pepperoni special Detroit style. My gosh. Words won't describe how perfect a bite these actually were! Now add the fact that everyone seems proud of what they are doing and the owners believes in absolute satisfaction, this is the kind of regular stop I'd consider a great night with family. I've been dying to go to this place for over a year since seeing their Halloween presentation last year in social media reels. From the moment you walk in the entire restaurant transforms into a Galaxy far far away. The decorations, the menu, music and attention to detail make it feel like an experience rather than just a meal. My daughter and I had so much fun exploring everything and taking it all in. We went on the last day of the pop-up so they were out of the Star Wars cups. I definitely have to say I was a little disappointed but that's on me. Now I know for the future go within the first few weeks. The theme drinks were definitely the highlight. They were creative, beautifully presented and fit for the Star Wars by perfectly. They were just as much a part of the experience as the decor itself. My daughter orders the blue raspberry drink with gummies and I ordered the C3PO drink with bourbon St Germain fresh lemon juice, pineapple juice, apple cider, pineapple, sliced cherry and gold leaf. For the food, the pizza is delicious with a great crust and plenty of flavor. My only critique is that the theme simple on top wasn't very recognizable. I couldn't really tell what it was supposed to be. The garlic knots were okay but they didn't stand out compared to the rest of the meal. Mangoni puts A lot of effort into transforming the entire restaurant for each themed event. It's immersive, fun and clear that a lot of thought goes into creating experience that goes beyond the food. I booked "standard seating" rather than "outside." We were immediately sat outside. I explained this to the host, and they said this is not the first time someone has explained this to her, so this is something the team at Mangoni needs to work on, especially since people are coming for the ambiance of their holiday pop ups. I was told that the inside was booked, but they were able to accommodate (yet half the tables remained empty inside during our entire visit). Unfortunately, we were sat right where the staff collects the food orders as they are ready, and they were a bit stressed out so as a former server who still has recurring dreams of waiting tables in never ending shifts, this was causing me anxiety. I enjoyed the food overall. We got the special Halloween garlic knots to start. These were a bit too dense for me and too light on the garlic, but the sauce was good. Next came the Mangoni salad and Ghostly Margherita. These were really fresh and delicious. The cocktails are strong so beware. I had ordered the Voodoo Queen. Really fruity and refreshing, though. We were also given the Bite of the Living Bread to go, as they had an extra made in error. Can't comment on it, since I didn't try it yet, and I am not a sausage fan. I do intend to try a bit soon. Both the server and manager commented on how "long" it took to get our pizza, but we didn't feel like we were waiting at all (that's why the extra was given to us besides there being an extra).

(For example, a pizza smashing through the door Shining-style on poor Shelley Duvall.) The menu consists of New York style, Detroit style, and Sicilian style pizzas, among a variety of other entree offerings. There aren't any personal size pizzas, just what I'd consider medium (14") and large (18"). My partner and I couldn't agree on toppings, but thankfully AJ's lets you do half and half pizza, as long as they are the same type of pizza (i.e., New York). On my half, I ordered the Supreme New Yorker -- hot calabrese, spicy Italian sausage, classic pepperoni, extra creamy ricotta. What attracted me most to it was the sausage, ricotta, and spiciness. My partner ordered the Tropical Reeves -- pineapple, thick-cut smoked bacon, drizzled with vanilla honey. Mine had more expensive toppings, but we only had to pay 1/2 of each type of pizza we ordered, not the highest price one, so that was a welcome surprise when the bill came. It'll definitely encourage us to come back. The pizza was delicious, and the crust was pretty tasty, too. There's also red pepper flakes, garlic powder, and Parmesan cheese on the table, and you can ask for oregano as well, to enhance the already great flavor. Service was excellent, too, so I don't really have anything negative to say about our first (and certainly not last) visit to AJ's.
