Not my first time here, but it is my first review for them! This is really good pizza! (Is there…read morebad pizza?) very traditional, thin, Neopolitan style crust. Not huge, but two or three people could enjoy. (6 slices cut) I wanted to try something different so we got two and boxed the rest. Shelby greeted and seated us, and although she lacked a little knowledge on the beer menu, she made up for that with a trip to the bar to investigate our questions on sour beer, and came back with two excellent samples! We settled on a Dr. Robot and the Charcut-a-pie. I loved the toppings and balsamic drizzle. Goat cheese and arugula just go together. A little honey and I was in heaven! The crust on this one was a little well done, which disappointed but, the overall flavor was on point. Next, we sampled the Spicy Italian. I'm usually pretty good with spicy things, and while this was no exception, it did have both of us in a small sweat! If you are averse to spicy, stick with something else. This crust was also cooked and not over done. I'm not sure what McDonoughs' obsession is with vaults, but it seems to be a recurring theme around the square. You'll find vaults or at least doors that look like vaults all over. The rest of the decor inside and outside was well done. Exposed brick gives it immediate rustic charm, while black floors, raw wood art, and leather stools wrap the package nicely. I definitely like their lighting! Oversized bulbs hung around the pizza oven bar (which you can sit at if there's space) and giant hoop rings finish the rest of the space. It isn't that glaring light that spotlights your table, it's just a nice warm ambient light that makes you wanna pour a vintage red into a wine glass over and over. Oh! I almost forgot, they do have an outdoor patio up front, so on those less humid days and nights, I'll definitely be hanging out there!

Pizza by Yandy's is delicious but their crust was almost inedible. The chef is a multitasking machine, juggling a mountain of orders. Judging by the Sunday night crowds, it's a local favorite. I understand. Would I come here again? Maybe. I was just somehow in this area but I might prefer Italian pizza more than NY style. It's a good pizza but I'm also venturing into making it at home. But, this appears to have weighed the pizza down and added more moisture to the crust. The main chef who made the pizza was in constant motion. As the dinner time rolled in, there were more receipts he was juggling. It was cool that he remembered the two only Asian folks who left behind a water bottle. Because as I waited in line to get to the front register to ask about the said missing water bottle, the chef saw me and handed me the bottle. He was busy the whole during we were there but was still aware of his customers. This place seems to be popular with locals with a lot of folks doing to-go orders on a Sunday evening.

Please add these to the permanent menu! For our entrees, we both had the chopped sirloin steak, and both were cooked to perfection. The baked potato and green beans were also amazing, well seasoned and full of flavor. And let me tell you about the service, absolutely some of the best we've had in a long time. She looks and can't find a deluxe and reads all the different pizzas off to me which don't sound right. So I tell her just to put it in and I'll tell the cook when I go back over there. Having solved the first part of the pizza puzzle I go back over to the counter to hand the man my order ticket. I explain I only want mushroom on half. He says"so you want two different pizzas on one pizza?" Ummmm NO. I want the same pizza but don't add mushrooms to half of it. I am not joking I had to explain this six times to this man. Finally he understands (I think) but I follow him to the pizza making station, on the customer side of course :) He starts making our pizza and following the toppings chart and wowza am I getting the toppings!! BTW the Hardee's next door was dead and your people should be able to work both restaurants as needed. It's not hard to make a hamburger or a pizza. I've done both, many many times, at many many restaurants. Get some food management at this location!
