I would say this is on par with any local Pizza Hut. The service was ok but was really off putting as the lack of urgency to clean. Other than offering happy drinks this place lacks in all places that counts.

Merry Christmas, Yelpers. (Feel free to unfriend me after that blatantly politically incorrect…read morestatement that includes CHRIST in it.) I'm in town to see the in-laws, I'll be here for a week. And there was no doubt that, some time during the week, the hunny and I would be going to a place that every red-white-and-blue-blooded Texan goes to many times over a month: Dairy Queen. My mother-in-law once gave me a book that says that Dairy Queen is the place where Texans go to solve all the world's problems over a cup of Joe. You don't go here for the wonderful food; this is a nationwide fast food place, y'know. You go here for the ice cream, especially the Blizzards. And to chew the fat with your friends. This Dairy Queen is a good place to do that. It's kept clean, the cashiers are Southern friendly, and the temperature is a good respite from the heat. They won't kick you out if you're there for a long time. Gooood ice cream. If you need more health food, Waffle House is next door. They also serve real food, and we finally ate real food here for our recent date. We both had chicken fried steak, mine was in the form of a burger called "The Dude". Its steak was to the homestyle choke-and-pukes like Burger King would be to the Cattle Company: not great, but good enough. Dairy Queen is fast food - our order was taken to our table two minutes after we placed it - so you don't expect Cattle Company quality. I found the fries to be blech, but I don't like fries that much anyway. Overall, a good tasty place for us to reconnect with each other while the girl is with Pawpaw and Grammy. The hunny and I have had many dates at Dairy Queen, and I expect many more on our trips to SETX. The ice cream is as sweet as she is, and the food is not so bad either. So laters, and God bless us, everyone.

If you are looking for a quiet dinner date or outing, this is not it. It's loud and can get louder if they all stop and sing the Roadhouse song. Management makes it a point to bring the sights of south of the border to Silsbee. Murals of the scenery and the chicas. Rancheiro music plays. Okay, so the wait staff are nearly all Gringos, but who cares? They're good with their service, and that's what counts. I had a chimichanga covered with queso, with refried beans & rice. It was good and beefy, but small for $12.95. In contrast, the Hunny and I celebrated Mothers Day at a different Mexican place, and for the same price, I got a burrito 12 inches wide. This chimichanga was what, 5 inches? So Mi Pueblo is good but overpriced. In solid three star territory. It's an option.

The owner said, "isn't the first time, won't be the last." Obviously quality and customer don't matter here. Their only solution was to remove the nachos from ticket, when no one in the party was able to even finish their meals. The most most appropriate recourse would have been to comp the entire ticket, or at least discount a significant amount. Not looking for a free meal, just looking for a meal we could actually eat with no bugs in it.
