Totally enjoyed my lunch taco Al carbon! Food was fast and delicious! Love the queso! Hubby loved the Rico's dip!

Oily fajitas

I ordered through DoorDash and the food was not impressive one bit. I ordered fajitas and it was drenched in oil absolutely drenched. I didn't receive my drink or the queso or sliced avocado that I added to my order. The guacamole that was packed with my food was already turning brown. Not worth the $$$$

Our family went to Casa Ole on Eastex Freeway Saturday evening after a baseball tournament. We were seated quickly by Bethany and soon after, Alicia began waiting on us. Although they were busy, we received our drinks, chips & hot sauce very fast. Our queso appetizer came out quick and Alicia was bringing us drink refills, before we asked. Our food came out and was great, with the same consistent taste we have known for years. The entire team that I could see, was working hard and efficiently. It was a great experience. So much so that the next evening, it was just my mom and me that was going to grab a bite after the championship game. She said she wanted queso again and we decided to go back to Casa Ole in the Target shopping center. And again, was greeted by Bethany and seated promptly and accommodating my mom's needs (limited mobility). This visit was much like the night before with Russell taking care of us. Our food was actually brought out by Alicia (waitress from Sat), with Russell checking on us continually. Bethany had asked how everything was after she had seated some guests, and we struck up a conversation. I asked her who the General Manager was, and was telling her how great our experience was. Bethany saw her GM; Mellissa and we called her over to the table. We shared about how great our experience had been and the atmosphere, team work, effectiveness, and great food that brought us back for a next day visit. Mellisa was also great to visit with and hear her passion, commitment, and focus on running a great store. As we were leaving, Bethany held the door open for mom, and thanked us for coming. She said when we come back, she hopes to be an Assistant Manager. Without doubt, she will be a great one. When I was a GM of a restaurant, she is the type of employee that our company looked for. Well done Mellisa and staff in impressing my mom and myself, I hope their owners realize what strong and commited staff they have. Go see our new friends at Casa Ole - Eastex, I believe you will not be disappointed. And as Mellissa let us know, if your ever not satisfied "let her know, so she can fix it."

Poblano stuffed with fajita chicken and cilantro cream sauce.

We are back to recalibrate our Tex-Mex rating system. The food is cooked right (no over/under) ample in proportion and mild in chemical heat. My wife digs the spinach stuffed chicken with cilantro cream sauce. I wanted a dish that did move the Scoville needle up a bit; poblano chili stuffed with fajita chicken topped with the same cilantro cream sauce. Both dishes are flanked by frijoles and rice. Each of the sides are unassuming. Nothing bad but far from exceptional. Sitting in the middle is a scoop of pico. Add a little zip and fresh tomato taste. Both mains are similar and tasty. Worth the price @ under 10 bucks, each. Picante/salsa is red tomato sauce of indeterminate flavor. Queso is required on our visit. The yellow slurry with mild green chili chunks is a perfect addition to pump up the action. So you can see, Casa Olé is more than adequate. Even so, it beats the jeans off the low class, puny proportions Texican atrocities prevalent in this area. Yes, we go to Houston. We are partial to el Tiempo but, the original Ninfa's is splendid. Don't forget Pappasito's, they are always major delish and imaginative.

Seriously?! 4 or 5 stars people? Wow. It's a bad version of TexMex if I ever had it. Cheap margaritas, but neon green.

We were promptly escorted to a table by the wall and given menus. She told us our waiter would be right with us, and he was! He took out drink orders to start, I ordered Sweet Tea and my wife a Coke Zero. While he was getting our drinks a young lady came and brought chips and Salsa to our table. He came back with our drinks and asked about appetizers. My wife said she was good on the appetizers, so we ordered our meals. My wife ordered the Queso Flameado with flour tortillas and I ordered the El Taco dinner with three crispy tacos with ground beef and rice and beans. I went ahead and had him at Queso dip to our order. It was very quiet from not being crowded which was kinda of nice! It's kind of plain on the inside and has a nice ambience to it. Our server was really taking care of his job always checking back not only with us, but other tables as well! He brought our food back out in short order. The wife's Queso Flameado looked really delicious! My Taco dinner came out with the three tacos with lettuce, tomatoes, and cheese, and also small containers of sour cream and guacamole to add to my tacos!! All of our food was really good and we enjoyed our lunch! The only down thing is they are only open a few days in the middle of the week and closed on weekends. They would probably do a good business on weekends, but I think the owners might prefer to have their weekend's off for family time. I do recommend them if you're in the area, their food is really good, and everyone here is very outgoing and friendly!

Senor Toro Mexican Restaurant - Good choices

I [heart] Senor Toro…read more As I write this review, it's a few hours before I fly back to the Land of Fruits and Nuts. It has been such a relief to have a real date with my wife: sitting down in a restaurant for an hour to rebond with each other and enjoy good food. You still can't do that everywhere in Vidor: Dairy Queen is still locked down. But you can be normal at Senor Toro. On the other hand, the experience isn't as good if the food is awful. Senor Toro is great. The Hunny had beans & nachos, and I had the Big Juan Burrito. The menu says "Serious eaters only", and that caught my interest. Our server wasn't sure that this beanpole could finish it all, the Hunny assured her that I have two hollow legs. I got a 12 inch burrito loaded with beef and rice, including beans and tomatoes and peppers, covered with spicy melted cheese. I've had Mexican food in Los Angeles, and Senor Toro's food is up to that level in quality. Juicy tasty beef, solid rice, nice cheese, all put together right. And yes, I finished it all. Total hit: $22. Another reason to eat here: The more we eat in restaurants that opened their dining rooms, and not at those that keep them closed, the sooner this mess will be all over. I admit, though, it was a little jarring to eat authentic Mexican food while hearing country music. Senor Toro, a fantastico place to eat Mexican food half a mile north of I-10.
