Fast forward to the end of the meal, Charlie tried forcing a 20% gratuity on all the checks saying we were a group and thus it was mandatory but were forced to sit separate at normal tables thus have individual checks as if you were to dine in normally. When I asked him to remove it he started raising his voice at me telling me that they weren't staffed to serve us (again the staff did amazing, kitchen and front of the house so I don't see any problem there, no faith in his employees?) proceeded to raise his voice that we never should have showed up and given him our business. How do you not have the staff to serve only just your patio, that's all the room we took, on a Saturday lunch at that, if the restaurant got busy and filled up are you going to yell at every customer that walks in? Make that make sense from a management perspective. If this isn't true Taos culture I honestly don't know what is! Business owners hating business is just comical. I've been a long time fan of pizanos and have spent hundreds of dollars there. But I will not be returning and would much rather take our club, who does this 2-3 times a year to a resturant who actually appreciates business.
