Found Little Boy Bakery in the weekly farmers market at UMD and I couldnt stop going back for more! Their macarons are so good! The fillings are fluffier compared to the usual macarons and I can honestly say I cant eat usual ones anymore without missing the ones from LBB. Another weekly cravings is their apple tart, it has the perfect amount of sweetness and goes great with coffee in the morning. I wanted to love this place after all the reviews and had high hopes. Sadly it was disappointing, the chocolate cake was dry, the frosting was full of shortening and wasn't soft, it was buttery but still hard. I did leave the cake out for 3 hours at room temperature before serving. I requested strawberry puree buttercream as the filling and it was separated and greasy. I really wanted to get a small "naked" matcha cake for an event, and was so excited to find a bakery close by that could make one. I submitted a request by email, and they were very quick to respond. At the time, I couldn't taste a sample of the matcha cake, but I was able to stop and try one of their macarons. Let me say that the macaron was one of the best that I've had because it just melts in your mouth. When I finally got to try a piece of the matcha cake that I ordered, let me tell you that I died and went to matcha heaven! The matcha cake was so soft and fluffy that I felt like I was on cloud nine. The whipped matcha cream was soooo smooth and the cream to cake ratio was perfect! The matcha cake also had blueberries on the top and some hidden within the cream layers of the cake. The blueberries definitely helped to add some texture to the cake. They have the BEST biscotti ever, it's a MUST. It's not too hard and not too sweet. It's vegan so I dont feel guilty eating the whole bag. Since they use almond flours, it does give you some nutty taste and I love it. Their peach pie was amazing, perfect amount of cinnamon and don't get me started on their pie crusts. I usually don't eat the crust because no pie crust satisfied my pallet because they are usually dry. But LBB did it, buttery and sweet (not too sugary) and it sure satisfied my taste buds. I also ordered a cake for my friend's bridal shower and all the staffs were super nice. They were able to accommodate all the requests and baked an amazing cake for the event. We stumbled upon Little Boy Bakery at maple lawn farmers market on Saturday. We wanted a small pastry for breakfast and got chocolate ganache croissant and almond croissant. They were SO good. Usually croissants are light/flaky and pretty hollow inside, but these ones were light and buttery, but dense! Super generous amount of chocolate ganache places inside too. I was able to buy them at a grocery store in Maryland. They set up a tent outside the store and sell them! I got their classic, almond and chocolate croissants. It was absolutely mesmerizing!! I tried to cold and heated up in microwave and they were great with coffee in the morning! I also got their chocolate and classic Madelines and it it hands down the best I ever had! It comes with 2 in a pack. Sorry for the photo, I ate one and I had write a review. The classic Madeline cannot be compared to other madelines you can buy anywhere. It was big and texture was amazing! I keep them frozen so they don't go bad for long time. I left them out for 10 minutes and it tasted even better cold!! 5 stars all the way!! read more

We got 2 of every macaroon here and if you didn't notice, some pictures are missing...I couldn't help it, they were so good. I want to start off with the good but first a disclaimer. We went to little boy bakery as a pop up at a farmers market. They had a bunch of really cute individually packaged items but the macarons really caught my eye. Two of each please! On every single one of these macarons the flavor was amazing, but the FROSTING was even better!!! My friends and I could not believe how good the frosting was and wished they had cake slices or cupcakes to sell (even though it's probably too hot for that). I've eaten a lot of frosting and this place truly has some of the most delicious I've ever tasted. Five stars for the frosting and strong taste in each of the macarons. The not as good were the actual cookie part of the macaron. Some were really overbaked and crispy, some were just way to chewy and there were only two out of our whole bunch that were cooked properly. Macarons are really hard to make and given everything else about the macarons was 5 star, we remained satisfied (the shell itself we would've given 2 stars). The frosting/flavor was that good that this place still deserves 4 stars. Our favorite was the piggy, oreo and creme brûlée. We will have to come back next week to do some quality control and see if the frosting is that good again. read more

literally the worse macaroons I have ever had in my natural born life. for starters I am going to chalk it down to a bad batch because with these steady reviews I don't know what anyone is talking about. unless they are all fake which I doubt. let me walk you through eating a macaroon. first they have a variety of nice flavors. but they all have the same taste and the cream is more buttery then creamy which is kind of gross. maybe if you like butter cream sure enjoy. but that's not a macaroon. now you take a bite. the whole cream section oozes all over your hand and leaves the macaron (probably because the cream is running away from the horrible macaroon am I right?) no seriously. all the cream just gets on your hand. this happened to every single macaroon I got. and that was 8 of them my wife and I shared. no we didn't eat them all we tried the cream and it all tasted the same. butter. now the worse possible thing is the hard as a BRICK macaroon shell. it was honestly laughable how hard the macaroon shell was. yes I defrosted them hard as fuck. even had one cold. hard as fuck. all in all a damn bad experience. so much it took me to do a yelp review which I rarely do lately. goodbye. read more

Ordered the raspberry cheesecake and I have never had a cheesecake like this before... The top was a delicious creme brulee and the bottom had a nice crunchy texture. I usually find cheesecakes to be too sweet and after a few bites they get a bit sickening. However, this cheesecake was just the right amount of sweetness. Delicious. I'm not usually a fan of sweets as I have a low tolerance for sugar but I loved the two things I got here. I had the Vegan Coffee Cake and the Piggy Macaron and both had a very soothing taste that went well with my morning coffee. Moist, hearty, with a hint of sweetness. We found Little Boy bakery through one of the local farmer's markets. They're great people and clearly know what they're doing. I never thought I'd be so excited about an apple pie. The attention to detail on this was amazing and the crust (the crust!) was the best part. The filling was luxuriously flavorful without being overly-sweet and still keeping the patently "apple" flavor expected of such a pie. We made a whipped cream to go along with it and had the leftovers for breakfast the next day. And the macarons! Try the macarons if you ever get the chance. Every one of the flavors is amazing. Products are delicious! They are at our Sunday morning farmers market, and they are always delightful with their infectious enthusiasm. I almost always pick up one or two chocolate gluten-free items. We also enjoy their variety box with chocolate and/or almond croissants, fruit-filled turnovers and more. The goods are not overly sweet, which we love. They are just sweet enough to enjoy. I planned on ordering a display cake and cupcakes for my wedding. Unlike other places i had to pay for my tasting (which is just me ordering more cupcakes from them to try the flavors). In my experience other places only charge unless i decide to purchase with them. We ordered half a dozen cupcakes to try but honestly was disappointed with the quality and flavors. As mentioned in a previous review the buttercream frostings all had a very buttery almost greasy after taste. Some of the cupcakes tasted exactly alike that I almost had to double check we ordered different flavors. The frosting design as well wasn't visually appealing and wasn't piped on like other places. When I asked if I could try 4 other flavors i was informed that they only take orders of 6 cupcakes or more...I found this a little ridiculous especially for a customer that is willing to pay for her tasting, a wedding display cake, and a few dozen cupcakes (easily over $300) they were not willing to budge. Also the packaging of the cupcakes came in no type of labeled box but instead in a cheap plastic container like the ones you see for cupcakes at walmart. Ive ordered from them before and their macarons are good but this overall experience and customer service was so disappointing that ill look elsewhere for my wedding cake. I am Korean myself and was so excited to have some traditional flavors for my wedding cupcakes but the whole experience has put a bad taste in my mouth literally. read more
