watery stew, goulash. potato pancakes

A is for effort. I appreciated the decor. Service was good. Potato pancakes were good. Goulash tasted like tomato soup with some added meat and veggies. The egg noodles in it were good though. A German place in a little town? You should go and try!

Have you been to Bavaria? To Munich? This restaurant is really a little piece of Bavaria right in El Paso. This is as authentic as it gets with die Deutsche Gemutlichkeit (coziness) well represented. The services was slow but the German food was authentic and delicious. We had 3 handmade potatoes pancakes, some classic Vienna breaded Snitzel and some curry wurst with French fries. Overall a very close experience to a Bavarian Beer local!

This place brought me right back to Grafenwöhr. The service, food, and beer were excellent! I had the jeager schnitzel and the wife had the cordon bleu. All delicious and substantive. I particularly enjoyed the cucumber salad and the large stein of dunkel weizen (dark beer). Additionally, the apfel strudel a la mode and the german chocolate cake were stellar. So if you have an authentic German meal fix, this place is the place to be. Absolutely ninja worthy! Yelp on my peeps, Yelp on!

Hunter's Mushroom gravy

If I could give this place ZERO stars I definitely would!!! I have eaten here in the past and it was decent, coming from someone who is German... But recently I did an Uber eats and was shocked at the quality they had the nerve to make and at that sell!!! I ordered the Hunter Schnitzel you know with mushroom gravy. Well for the price it should be a great meal but instead I got something that was not eatable. First pic is what they advertised and the second is what they call gravy looked like gelatin, and tasted like pure salt.. from what I hear the German owner no longer cooks the food someone else does it now and it's purely disgusting!!! I asked for a refund but it has yet to happen.. not to mention the breading on the pork had a sweet aftertaste, gross!! I definitely DO NOT recommend this place anymore!!! First picture is what the meal should have looked like second picture is what the gravy look like !

An absolute gem! Wonderful service, our server was a delight! I've tried potato pancakes with sour cream and goulash and it was amazing. Great beer, lovely vibe. If you miss Europe or want to have a taste for sure visit. Very budget friendly!

This place had the most legit German food in town. If you've never had german food, come here and get a #1. Breaded Schnitzel with lemon wedges. Great flavor, tender, crispy... Just cant miss with this. Everything on their menu is great. Always friendly service. Awesome German beers in tap.

What a find! Authentic German food a few minutes from work so I can scoot out and get a great meal. I came with a fellow Yelper- we both agreed to wear our elastic waist pants and eat like no on was looking- or cared! We ordered the brats, schnitzel and amazing soup...well everything was amazing. This is a great, convenient spot-I will be back soon!

Food was good. Lots of choices. Made me miss living in Germany. Made me want to take a trip back. It was clean inside. Our waiter was nice and did not rush us.

The Black Forest cake was delicious. Never had that good outside of Germany or Austria.

This probably the most authentic tasting brawt I have had. Even by the look of it, my assumption is…read moreit is imported. Had a good snap when bitting in to it, juicy, full of flavor. They have house made kraut which for me was a bit too sweet but was still very good. 9/10. Found this gem at the Farmer's market off Mesa.follow them on facebook or instagram at berliner.freiheit.

Finally got to try the Currywurst sausage from Berliner Freheit truck at Grace Gardens today…read more They're usually at the Upper Valley and Country Club farmer's markets on the weekends or at the Iheartradio station on the weekdays and their lines are usually long. On their off days they cater. Today was no exception, but I was determined to try them out. Their menu is simple and straightforward. I asked them for a small sample of the Currywurst sauce and I expected them to give me a little cup or spoon to try, but they cut up sausage and actually gave me the piece to get the full experience. They warned me it was hot from the grill and didn't rush me, even though they had a line behind me. So sweet and proud of their food, I was sold at 1st bite. You can order it to go in a plate or in a to go box. I had kids so a to go box was safer. The entire family pitched out, from the dad grilling to the mom making crepes (next on my to try list) to the so taking out the trash and restocking the napkins....the daughter took the orders and actually sought me out in another line to give my food! Talk about caring about their customers and service with a smile! I've stolen bites from hubby's sausage with sauerkraut and it's really good, but the unsung star is their homemade Currywurst sauce. Think of a sweet and tangy tomato based bbq sauce spiked with notes of curry...it is sooo good and addictive, no wonder they sell bottles of it! The sauce was the star, but the sausage wasn't too shabby either; it was meaty, juicy, and tender with a nice snap. The bun was also a surprise, not dense at all but light and sweet. I am now in trouble because I now can't choose between my favorite bbq (Rollin'Smoke) or this new sleeper hit. Berliner Freheit might have a bit of an edge right now because its easier to consume on the go. Both sauces and dishes are divine and I encourage you to try them out. Especially if you haven't had currywurst...it's definitely a treat when it's done well like it's done here at Berliner Freheit. Come out and #supportlocal
