I visited this music shop on Small Business Saturday (11/30/24) and had a very positive experience. There were boxes of $2 records outside and I was able to pick up a clean (Near Mint) Peter, Paul, and Mary LP and Chet Atkins double LP for 2 bucks each. This shop has an extensive selection of Christmas albums (both new and used). Their selection of 45s are great, they were graded and reasonably priced. They also have a Discogs page (https://www.discogs.com/seller/Lititz_Music_Co./profile) The customer service was great, the young man behind the counter was very friendly and enthusiastic. Lititz Music Co. is a licensed dealer of Alvarez and Danelectro instruments. They also offer music lessons on-site. I was surprised Lititz Music Co. wasn't already on Yelp so I created this business page and I'm hoping it bring more customers into their amazing store. read more

I had been in here before and the owner had told me he had about 7,000 45 RPM records in the back, none in sleeves he would let go at a big discount probably 10 cents each. On this visit I reminded him of this and he kind of remembered it. He said if I wanted to look at some records on the floor today he would make me a good deal. I picked up a box and began to look at some picture sleeve records. He told me he gets about $3 each for those so I promptly put them back saying I had sold my collection to a dealer for about 26 cents a record and never pay more than $1 each for pictures. I began looking at other sleeved 45s. While we talked he said he really loved records and that is why he put them in when he bought the music store. He NEVER would mention a price just saying he would make me a deal. I proceeded to spend over an hour looking at records and picked out 54 that I wanted. I brought them to the counter and without even looking at them he said, "How about $54?" I told him that was a bit steep and I would be willing to pay $40. He then began to look at all the records. He pulled out six he said were "really valuable." That left 48. He then said, "I will take $48 for these." I asked if he takes credit cards meaning I was ready to buy. He replied with, "I prefer cash." I told him I would still give him $40 cash or pay the $48 with my credit card. All of a sudden he begins looking at all the records again and telling me this one is a good one, that one is a good one, they are all in great condition and then comes back with a price of $60! I asked him why he is jacking up the price 25% and he said he never had agreed to the $48 price which was an outright lie. I told him that was unfair and I was angry at that point. He said he had not looked through them yet. They were piled in a basket and I had taken the time to pick out ones I needed and he should deal on them. It is either $48 now or probably nothing for a year on the same discs. He would not deal and I told him I was not interested in buying from someone who quotes a price and then does not honor it by changing the price from one second to the next. Avoid this place at all costs because you are dealing with someone more interested in keeping his precious records than selling them at a fair price. Beware of ANY RECORD store that will not mark their items or especially WILL NOT QUOTE A PRICE and just says they will deal. They will NOT. He said he was in business to make money and I told him that I know what he probably paid for these records as I sold a collection to a dealer and only got 26 cents a record. He said I did not know what he paid and I agreed. I just said he could make a very good profit at the price I offered. I walked out very disgusted with his attitude that a customer who made a very fair offer meant nothing to him. read more

Had my acoustic guitar restrung...they didn't tune it. Two strings broke when I tuned it. Not a good first impression.
