I'm no lettering expert, but I know beautiful lettering when I see it, so every post and story was an absolute pleasure to behold. And when I had the chance to hire Carole for my wedding, I jumped on it! From the get-go, Carole was ultra-responsive via email. She patiently answered questions about how she'd set up and what options she offered for lettering, and helped us arrive at an experience that would be appropriate for our event type and guest count. I initially thought about a workshop, for example, but Carole helped me understand that that might not be appropriate for a wedding :) We ended up deciding on Carole lettering luggage tags live as a take-home gift for guests. I was able to order luggage tags through Carole, who brought the tags with her when the wedding day came. She even lettered a few in advance for guests who couldn't make it (and of course, for ourselves). Carole and her live lettering proved to be a huge hit. In fact, I'm pretty sure our guests came more for Carole than they did for us-- on the day of the wedding, I heard from the planner that Carole got swarmed as soon as she set up. She speaks Vietnamese and went to Dang Insurance office on Murphy Ave opposite of H&M and Starbucks. At first she said, $15 per signature even though the website said, $10. She agreed to the $10 and we finished up to documents. Good value as long as you get the $10/signature price. But don't forget that your banker can also do notaries if you have a loan or account for FREE!

(About a 5 min drive ;-) ) I needed to get a document notarized and did not wish to run to the UPS store...which is, not only a bit further, but more expensive as well. I gave her a call and asked her a few basic questions...cost, location, type of document etc. She told me to stop by, since she was free and didn't have any appointments....10 minutes later I was there...wallah! Document Notarized, stamped and good to go! Easy, painless and smooth transaction...Cheers! Vivian is a very nice lady, so helpful, polite and considerate. She even offered to photocopy my screwed up document so I could have a clean copy. Luckily I was able to send it via email, so didn't need to re-print it. I had Inja do the calligraphy for our wedding invitations...she sent me a price sheet and several styles of calligraphy that she could do. She was also very flexible in modifying the calligraphy style I had chosen with an extra "flourish" to complement the script on our invites and for a small nominal fee, matched the calligraphy ink color to the invitation ink color (dark, dark brown). She can even add shimmer to the ink! I met her on a Thursday night after work, handed her 125 envelopes and an address list. Met her the following Thursday after work and she handed back to me envelopes adorned with the most exquisite calligraphy. I couldn't be happier. Seamless and professional. And we are definitely going to have her do the menus and the place cards. :-)
