This practice should tell you when making an appointment that you're required to wear a mask at all times during your visit. After checking in, getting temperature taken (not told what it was) and asked if I've traveled outside of Maine, NH or VT in the last 14 days I was brought back to a room. She then asked me to keep a face mask on. I questioned why I need to wear it in the exam room (I have asthma and severe anxiety when face is covered). She said it was mandatory and would go check with Rachel (NP) to see if they would still see me. She sent Laura (office manager) in to talk about wearing the face mask in the room, said I swore at the nurse and it would be best to just go to urgent care. Extremely unprofessional. As I was leaving Dr Collins (known for 30+ years) was in the hallway and I had a brief discussion about what had just happened in his office and was there to have my ears checked. He had given me a prescription (antibiotic) in April while out of state. Ear pain is back and so am I. He could've taken me in and checked my ears. Instead, told me Rachel is still on the phone (40 minutes after 11am appointment time) and to call in if I'd like a prescription refill. I've had severe dizziness and and vertigo for 2 months, never had an ear infection and my grandfather died of brain cancer. Wow, thanks Doc.

I am writing to formally report a concerning experience I had during my recent appointment at…read moreDartmouth Hitchcock Manchester. I initially sought care after being advised by an urgent care provider to follow up with a specialist sooner rather than later. When I first contacted the office to schedule an appointment, I was informed that new patients were not being scheduled until August. I accepted this and ended the call. However, the following morning I received a call from your office asking if I could come in that same day at 11:00 AM. No explanation was provided for the urgency, so I assumed the doctor may have reviewed my imaging and felt it was important for me to be seen promptly. When I arrived, the check-in process was smooth, the wait time was short, and the nurse who brought me back was courteous and professional. Unfortunately, my interaction with Dr. Gould was very disappointing. Upon entering the room, his demeanor felt dismissive and rushed. After briefly examining the lump, he simply stated that it was indeed a lump and then presented two options: he could remove it, or I could leave it alone and monitor it. At no point during the visit was I given an explanation of what the lump might be, what the potential diagnoses could include, whether it was urgent or likely benign, or what risks were associated with either option. When I began asking, "What would you recommend...," before I could finish my question Dr. Gould interrupted me and stated, "I gave you two options, you'll have to decide which one." As a patient who is not medically trained and who was understandably concerned about a mass that had been discovered, I was hoping for guidance, explanation, and an opportunity to ask questions. Instead, the interaction felt dismissive and left me without the information needed to make an informed medical decision. Because of this experience, I left the appointment feeling frustrated, confused, and without answers about a health concern that had already caused significant anxiety. I hope this feedback can be used to improve communication with patients in situations where they are seeking clarity, reassurance, and professional guidance regarding potentially serious health issues.

Thank God for all the wonderful providers at DHC. I am pleased with all the improvements.read more

I waited only a couple mins after check in and saw a man (I forget his name but he mentioned he is also an EMT in Manchester) who was the nicest medical professional I had ever dealt with. I felt uncomfortable talking with my eyes closed and without asking he left and went to get his sunglasses in another room so I could wear them to feel more comfortable. He apologized he couldn't turn off the lights until IV was done being put in. My veins were very uncooperative because of dehydration from vomiting, so after a couple unsuccessful tries and him profusely apologizing even though it wasn't his fault, he grabbed a smaller needle and it went in just great. I was done by closing time at 8pm (the longest being the time it took for the bag of fluids to finish) and I'm very grateful this new Urgent Care is here so I wouldn't have to go to ER. You all know how horrifically long I would've been there had I gone to ER- I know from past experience as these cluster headaches tend to happen once or twice yearly and my migraine meds fail to help. I left feeling about 80% better (still had some nausea despite having IV nausea med) but by the next morning after sleep I felt 100% better. I wanted to make sure I left this review because I still think about that medical professional and how nice he was because I have never felt so cared for in a medical setting in my life. If I ever have to go there again I PRAY he is there. Wish I remembered his name but I'm really bad at remembering names.

I had waited like they asked me for my appointment with her for her to come into the room and tell me that my case seems to difficult and she is not willing to treat me anymore because she feels that I have a "unique case of endometriosis." So now I have useless medication, no medical help, and am constantly in pain and back to square one with finding a provider to help me.
