The only reason why they lose a star is because the front desk women can be a little unhelpful and the triage process to just simply make an appointment when you are sick is a bit much. You have to call early, wait until a nurse calls you back several hours later and by then you're lucky to get an appointment, and they usually ask you to go to urgent care. It's only across the hall, but very frustrating, especially when you are comfortable with one or two particular doctors, who know you on a better level.

Once I finally completed the labs, I called the office to inform them that I would be running late and asked whether I should still come in for my appointment. I was told that it was fine and that I should still come. While I was only three minutes away, I received a call saying my appointment would need to be rescheduled, with the explanation that the person I spoke to had not communicated with the secretary. That is an internal office issue and should not have been made my responsibility. On top of this, the secretary was rude and dismissive, speaking to me as though I were at fault--despite the fact that I followed the instructions given to me by their staff. As a result, I wasted two trips, drove a long distance, and was not feeling well throughout this process. Overall, Dartmouth has been the worst hospital I've dealt with in terms of appointment scheduling, communication, and follow-up. I would not recommend them to anyone, especially the Bedford office.

If I need to change an appointment, they usually can get me in at a time and day that is better for my schedule.
