I'm giving this school two stars because my daughter's first year here was fantastic. Her second year, however, was an awful experience that left her disliking school and doubting that she could seek help from adults/teachers. She was being bullied both verbally and physically and her teacher's response was for her to "toughen up" and that she "brought it on herself". That's literally what was said. On another occasion the teacher told the class of 4 year olds they were "annoying". To be fair, kids certainly can be annoying, but it's not how expect a person who has chosen to teach kids to talk to them. When all of this was brought to Lisa's attention she initially stepped in to assist the teacher, acknowledging that she had observed issues in classroom management herself. Things got better. Then Lisa stopped assisting and the bullying resumed. This time when it was brought to her attention she told me, despite me having specifics and a witness to the bullying and my child telling me she was afraid to go to school, that I was wrong about my own child's feelings and she knew "in her heart" my child loved it there (she did not). Lisa offered no other support or made any further attempts to fix the bullying problem. We withdrew her and found a wonderful place for her to go instead, but there was a lot of damage done that we still deal with. The school's policy on bullying is antiquated and harmful. read more
