Our daughter has been at ECS since 1st grade and is now in 2nd. She's built such strong bonds with her classmates, and we've seen how much those friendships actually help her in the classroom. When they hit tough topics--like some of the more advanced math concepts--having that supportive group of friends keeps her motivated and makes the challenges feel much more manageable. We also really value how the school handles social growth. When a conflict came up, the teachers and the principal didn't just 'fix' it; they helped her develop a real strategy for resolution and taught her how to navigate things in the future. It gave her so much confidence. Most importantly, we love that the school is centered on God and faith. Seeing her so excited to talk about Jesus after chapel is a huge blessing to our family. Although located in Bellevue, the ECS community is refreshingly down-to-earth and welcoming. Started my boy and girl in preschool thinking it'd be temporary until Kindergarten. Being a proponent of public school education, I was surprised to find myself valuing the Christian education more and more each year. I day I got off at the wrong stop from the BCS school bus. So I decided to ask to use someones phone to tell my mom where I was. After the Lady, Kathy (Security person) welcomed me in and also offered water. I really appreciated it. It reminded me the verse Matthew 25:35-40 For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, 36 I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.' 37 Then the righteous will answer him, saying, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? 38 And when did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you? 39 And when did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?' 40 And the King will answer them, 'Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers,[a] you did it to me.' This school is going through a tough transition trying to figure out it's identity. Years ago, the school had great leadership, and an active board. Now, they seem to be more concerned about the bottom line versus insuring a great Christian education. Our son (and about 8 other boys), exhibited active normal boy behavior for their age but their educator had a very difficult time being able to keep the order she demanded in the classroom. To further exacerbate the problem there was a boy in the class who was a bit awkward and didn't fit in with this group of boys. The mother would always chaperone every trip and report any time these boys would even look at each other funny. Therefore this group of boys was constantly in trouble, even suspended at times for the dumbest reasons. Most of the time the teacher would not even witness the incident but would assume the worst and send the boys for discipline. As your boys get older, I would definitely find a different school with more tolerance for boys that stray from the strict obedience this school demands. read more

My daughter started at this school in the first grade. She found reading challenging and wasn't excited about school. However, after the first few months she absolutely loved it! When looking for a school for a 6-year old the most important things to me was a loving and safe environment. That's exactly what you get at this school. Our children have been in ECS for two years and we are satisfied. ECS integrates bible teaching and academy teaching. It has strong academy compared to public school and our children learn a lot. Our kids have attended ECS since Kindergarten and absolutely love it! They are strong both spiritually and academically and have outstanding support from teachers, staff, and other students. One of the things I really appreciate is how awesome the upper graders are with the younger kids, they have "DEEP Groups" where 7th & 8th graders lead younger kids in study. This creates an atmosphere where everyone knows everyone and you see kindergartners high-fiving 3rd graders in the hallway and 8th graders waving to 5th graders as they leave school. read more

I want to leave this review before another moment goes by. I just attended my third eighth grade graduation. My children began attending Eastside Christian school in 2006. And we are still here touched every day by the heart and the intentional teaching and mentoring offered by every person, parent or teacher, at this school. If you are considering Eastside Christian School as your child's home, think about it no more---just jump right in. One of the very best indications you can get of the direction this school offers their students is to watch any of the graduation ceremonies. It will be the best hour and a half of your time spent to understand clearly where children attending here find their purpose, meaning, and academic success. I'm sad to see my third child leaving the school. I'm glad to say that thanks to my youngest, we have three years to go. ECS is a fantastic school and there are so many wonderful things that I can't name them all. ECS is not only a school but a community filled with amazing staff, teachers and parents that want to see every child grow and develop. The academics are very strong with opportunity for advanced materials if interested or needed. They provide hands-on learning, simulated learning, and high expectations. Bible and chapel are an integral part of school which reinforces quality traits seen in the Bible- this theme is integrated into the classroom and nurtured between students on how to treat one another. Pros: high Math skills, high reading skills, and after school activities. The teachers are great at helping the kids to excel. Cons: We have had only positive experiences here at ECS. Our Son was going to a different Christian school and we transferred him to Eastside Christian School. At that point we realized how much academic differences between schools because he had a lot of catching up to do. He spent a little over half the school year doing that. We worked with his teacher to help bring him up to the level he needed to be at. Our Son was amazed at some of the things he was able to do. It was really special to watch him smile at himself as he accomplished one thing after another. Especially his math skills. He was doing math he thought he could not to before. In the 2nd grade he learned cursive writing. His penmanship is excellent! Now our Son is in the 3rd grade at Eastside Christian school and doing very well. We have been amazed as our son's reading and math skills have soared. He has done many school projects which have increased his knowledge of the world around him. He has also made a lot of quality friends over the years. We have had him in several after school activities. Basketball, robotics, Singapore math, and guitar. He has enjoyed every one! We love the teachers there as they are all so loving and caring, and the before and after school care is great! read more

Six years ago, my oldest son came home from Kindergarten one day very concerned. He looked me in the eye and asked "Dad, do we have enough money to go to this school for all of the years? This is our second year at ECS. Coming from a gifted preschool we were very concern about our son not listening and paying attention as gifted kids tend to misbehave when bored. Mrs. Anna our preschool teacher was excellent, and with the principal's support she was able to provide him different content and kept him engage as well as tremendously help us with social and behavior issues. ECS has been a wonderful family and I'm very happy about my son's spiritual growth as well. I just graduated from there last year and I cannot say that I could have been happier anywhere else. The staff cares about you and I hope to reach academic best. I have gone there since kindergarten and have excelled in all of my academic and spiritual growth. I know many other people who have graduated from there and would say the same thing. I played at volleyball and basketball and the coaches help me excel in the areas that I was good at and get better in the areas that I was not. I enjoyed getting to work with younger kids and help them do their best. I know that my leaders as an elementary schooler helped guide me throughout my years at ECS. The small class sizes help the teachers give you individualized help for you to excel in everything you do.
