I'm not one to use this forum to review an establishment, but after the service I received…read moreyesterday, I have decided that I'm through giving them my business. I recently received a Yamaha Venova plastic saxophone for Christmas this year. It's a beautiful little instrument, and has a sound like a soprano saxophone. However, it comes with a plastic reed. After doing a small amount of research, I read that you could use soprano sax reeds on it. For me, that would be ideal. So, I stopped in Music & Arts to see if they sold any. They did, although the only package cost over forty dollars. When the young man at the counter asked me if I needed assistance, I told him of my predicament, and was wondering if he had a soprano reed behind the counter that I could match the plastic reed to. I felt that I'd like to make sure they were a good fit before I laid down almost fifty dollars on something I couldn't use or return. He says, "Definitely. I'll be right with you, after I finish with this customer I'm checking out." So I step off to the side and wait patiently at the counter for him to free himself up. As I'm waiting, the man who is obviously the manager, removes himself from a "kids these days..." conversation he was having with another customer, comes up from behind me , picks up the box of reeds and proceeds to start ringing them in. I stop him by saying, "Actually, before I purchase, I was wondering if I could match a reed I have with a soprano reed you might have on hand." I then proceed to explain my predicament to him. Mid-explanation this man cuts me off, telling me there's no way he's going to open this box up for me just to check a match. He proceeds to tell me that he does most of his business with students, and they rarely buy soprano reeds, so he can't sell them individually. So I;ll just have to buy the whole box. I tell him I had no intention of him opening the box, I just wasn't sure if they were the same match as my reed. He then cuts me off again, to tell me I need to do more research before coming into his store. I try to tell him, that I was just waiting there because his employee said that he could help me, and it seemed that he might have a reed lying around already that I could match. He dismissively says, "No! No we don't!' I then look over to his employee, who has his eyes looking down at the counter, in no position to counter his bosses statement. Knowing that I'm in no position to receive any satisfaction. I say, "Ok, I'll do more research. I know that you sell them here if I want them," and return the box to the shelf, and walk out the door. I know that it's hard these days for small stores to do good business with online sales being what they are. However, he was so concerned about losing money, and wasting his time, while I was ready to drop Forty-odd dollars right there, if it was a fit. He definitely lost that money, because I refuse to buy it from him now. His attitude was so condescending and dismissive when all I was being was polite. If he was nicer and just said, "I'm sorry we don't have a reed back here to match," I would have understood, but right away he was aggressive and seemingly angered by me. It's people like him that ruin the experience of a small business.

Greg's music knowledge spans every genre and generation, keeping everyone--from grandparents to college friends--on the dance floor. He read the crowd flawlessly, adjusting tempo and energy in real time. The sound quality was phenomenal, and his lighting setup transformed our backyard tent into a dreamlike atmosphere--like northern lights dancing overhead. Greg's MC presence was charismatic and natural--hip, clear, and perfectly timed. He struck the right balance between being engaging and letting the celebration roll. Thoughtful and humble, he listened closely to the couple's wishes--even letting my daughter play her own playlist until she joyfully handed the reins back for our unforgettable father-daughter dance to Harvest Moon. Greg & Di tuned into every emotional beat of the evening with empathy and grace. Their adaptability and confidence kept the celebration flowing effortlessly, always elevating the mood without ever stealing the spotlight. From start to finish, Greg & Di radiated positivity, calm, and authenticity. When the energy dipped, they knew exactly how to reignite the dance floor with charm and skill. Greg & Di didn't just play music--they created moments we'll treasure forever. If you want a wedding that feels personal, alive, and truly magical, C-Zone delivers.

The Lynn Auditorium is a Mixed Bag. 3 STARS for The Auditorium & 5 Stars for the Entertainment. So…read more4 Stars. The Auditorium is kind of unique with its multi purpose use. First, the building serves three functions: it houses the city's principal offices, including the mayor's office, as well as the chambers of the city council & it provides concerts & theater arts. The Auditorium really needs to be Fixed Up & renovated. It's dated & it really is not what people expect when seeing concerts. They need better acoustics. If they did a makeover this could be a great place. It is an Art Deco building that has some beautiful marble walls & other striking architectural elements in the building that should be kept & really showcased. The rest needs to be updated but keeping the integrity of the Art Deco Style of the structure for today's modern world. That being said the Lynn Auditorium attracts Big Name Acts & Concerts. You can usually go to a show here for considerably cheaper price than seeing a show in Boston. They have a parking lot you pay for next door & several other paid parking lots in the vicinity. I've seen several concerts here including The Grass Roots, The Box Tops & The Association. This time out it was Brian Wilson of The Beach Boys performing the groups Greatest Hits. The opening Act was the Irish Singer Andrea Magee and her band. The Belfast singer is quite adept at playing the bodhran Irish drum while singing. They performed several original songs & covered Down to the River. When Brian Wilson took the stage it has one hit after another some 27 in total. They fluctuated lead singing between Brian, Al Jardine & his son Matt. They kicked off the evening with California Girls, I Get Around, Little Deuce Coupe, Surfer Girl, Don't Worry Baby sung by Matt Jardine, son of Al. The band also performed Do It Again, Wild Honey, Sail on Sailor, I Can Hear Music, Wouldn't It Be Nice, Sloop John B with Al Jardine. The Band also sang God Only Knows, Good Vibrations, Help Me Rhonda, Barbara Ann, Surfin' USA, Fun Fin Fun & Love & Mercy. What A Fun night of Beach Boys music where the audience sang along to many of the hit tunes. It used to be, you had to have Mega Bucks & be really rich to have The Good Life, not anymore. The Game has changed. You've Been Upgraded. Now You Can Live Like A King On A Limited Budget!

Yes the venue is art deco period 1948 but sound system and acoustics (upgraded) were great, though the guy navigating the spotlight was off , the stage lighting in general was good. Sat in the balcony and the only obstruction is a rail by the first row but otherwise good views . Yes the occasional person musically inspired, does stand and yes folks on bathroom breaks and fetching drinks, but overall it felt like a nice atmosphere in a nice small town. Decent restaurants to dine before shows and decent spots to park. For the right group, we'll check out Lynn again!
