Like other liquor stores, a lot of the beer is stale as it is unrefrigerated and sits in warehouses for months before ending up on the shelf. Since they are a state ran agency and it's illegal to retail liquor outside DABC (or the new name DABS?), it isn't like another store can open nearby and compete against them for business. Like other state liquor stores, the selection isn't consistent and sometimes you need to drive to another city to buy at another state liquor store since your local store doesn't stock what you wish to buy. It's more convenient than a some of the other state liquor stores and has better hours than some but the selection isn't that great. The entire state liquor system is ran by people who don't drink and have no experience retailing liquor. If you specially order liquor, you may not be notified when it arrives and will find out later that since you never showed up to pick up your order, they sold it to someone else.

Really enjoyed this restaurant because they accommodate dogs and have great local craft beer, something not found in Spanish Fork. Typically I like my Rueben's with corned beef, open faced, the Irish way but no good CB in Utah so take what you can get. Nice size sandwich, good amount of meat not fatty or greasy, kraut, cheese and dressing. Fries were good and it was great to have the fruit cup, a rarity at most restaurants. The Pastrami melt was also a good size, enough to bring home half. Also ordered a hamburger plain, no salt or pepper and it was large and kept my dog happy and content. Service was great and will be back again. This visit was a 4.5.

They have a slightly better beer selection than the state liquor store by the Newgate Mall but the parking and early closing time isn't worth the better selection. I long for a consistent selection of beverages regardless which store you shop at and the stores all having the same hours of operation. Some beverages cannot be purchased at any of the Ogden stores and you will need to drive to a Salt Lake City store to buy it.
