What a fun place to go I went with a friend for a nice girls night!…read more We were tired of eating out all the time and this time I wanted to get out of the house and try something new. This place was certainly the place to do that, we did ax throwing, which I had done before, but we also got to do knife throwing and archery. Knife throwing is very difficult (do not be deceived by how each they make it look) and archery is as well, but we did enough axe throwing that we became very proficient at it. They actually also spend their time to show you each activity. There are two people there working, or at least there were when we were there that night, one man in the bar and Food and the other introducing you to each activity. They spent quite a bit of time making sure you know what to do the safety routines, and how to improve your skill. I would definitely be back. The food is also really good and they have a bar. It's just a really nice laid-back spot to get a little arm work in, try something new and eat good food. I highly recommend!

Had a 7:30 pm appointment here yesterday 09/11/2026 and when I arrived there was no one at the…read morecounter. Waited for 5 mins. Called the number, spoke to someone, saw a worker doing a quick orientation for another group. Walked over and let him know I had a 7:30 pm reservation (it was 7:40 pm at this point). He came over got us checked in, let me know what area to go to, we went there, he went back to the bar and started making drinks for other customers. We were waiting for the quick orientation and axes. It was him only as the only visible worker. Then a lady who I presumably talked on the phone with came out. We waited 5 mins so now it was 7:45 pm. (Unfortunately we have 2 things planned back to back so I realized I would not be able to stay for my 1 hr reservation. So I walked over and told the two workers I get it, you are understaffed but I need a refund due to not being able to have enough time to throw for hr whole hour due to back to back activities and having been waiting so long. She apologized and refunded me. Honestly I don't blame the workers I more so blame management. Why would you have only two people running the show. It's very unfortunate because that would have been my first time going there, but the experience is ruined and I likely will not be going back and would not recommend. They did however refund me.

It had been years since I'd been to the Houston Improv, but when comedian Martin Amini came to…read moretown, my wife--who follows him online--got us tickets. We reserved a preferred four-person table in the lower section closer to the stage. The venue is at Marq*E, with plenty of free parking. Doors opened at 6:30 p.m. for a 7:30 p.m. show, and since preferred tables are first-come, first-served, we arrived about an hour early to get a good spot. Check-in was easy: we showed our ticket QR code, received wristbands, and were directed into the showroom. The seating is arranged with two- to four-person tables right next to the stage, additional tables about 10-15 feet back, and theater-style seating farther behind. We picked a table in the middle, which turned out to be a great view. I'd recommend arriving early if you have preferred seating--you probably don't want to be too close to the stage unless you're okay with potentially catching some comedian spit! Servers came around to take drink and food orders. We had already eaten dinner before arriving, so we didn't order anything, but I appreciated that the staff were very friendly and not pushy about trying to get us to order drinks or food. It made the experience feel relaxed and comfortable. The acoustics were great, and both opening comedians were funny. Martin Amini put on a really good set and had us laughing throughout the show. Overall, we had a great night and a very enjoyable experience at the Improv. If there's a comedian you follow coming to town, it's worth checking out. Ticket prices vary depending on seating and table options, so there are several ways to plan your night.

A group of 4 of us visited last weekend for DL Hughley and purchased a "preferred section" table…read morethat was pricey but worth the experience as we sat right at the corner of the stage. Online you will see a ticket price and the fee, Google will tell you that if you go in person, you will not have to pay that fee but if you call, she will explain to you that the ticket price goes to the Comedian and the fee goes to the venue. We went to the 930 show that stated doors were at 9 PM. That's not really correct though because the exterior door opened around 9 PM but you're not able to go find seats l at that time and you're still in line. If you are in the beginning of the line at 9 PM, then you can wait inside the lobby, otherwise you have to wait outside which is kind of crazy. Luckily, we were in the beginning part that made it inside because one of our guests that arrived 10 minutes after the lobby opened is pregnant. She wouldn't have been able to stand in heels outside all that time and when she walked up to the line and told the older Caucasian man that her mom was in the lobby with the tickets he was adamant that she needed to go to the back of the line and wait. Very visibly pregnant she tried to re-explain that we purchased a preferred table and that we were already inside the lobby, and there was plenty of room for her and her husband to come stand with us -he still tried to stand in her way so she could not walk around the line saying " well if I let you then everyone will expect to be able to go ". This is why I had already spoken to the young gentleman that checked our tickets into the lobby and he said it would be fine for them to walk up when they arrived, so I told her to ignore the man and go ahead and come around, and she was able to walk right in. Right about 9:30 PM the doors into the theater area opened and it is first come first serve to the tables. Server took our order after a short while everything came out surprisingly quick. We had to send back the fried pickles as they were swimming in grease. I asked the server if he could just have the kitchen remake it as my prego daughter really wanted that however he said they would just come out the same way again. We tried to blot them with napkins, but as you can see in my photo that's just for me barely touching one of them and my fingers are covered in oil. Yuck! The southwest eggrolls were good just your standard run of the mill. Do not order an old-fashioned! They cut the rind instead of just using the peel, use a maraschino cherry instead luxardo ( which I can still settle for both ) BUT the basic 3 ingredient cocktail was wrong! Service was better in the beginning because we were seated before all those that had been in line- then it took a while. 18% grat included so they def need to step their game up The show itself was really good. It was with one opening Comedian and then the headliner so about 2ish hours. Very interactive the last 30 minutes and we were sitting right next to the stage! Definitely worth the extra money for preferred
