I decided to sign up for the course at the Chimney Rock location, and I'm glad I did. There's nothing like receiving hands on experience prior to being thrown to the wolves. Completing the curriculum gives the aspiring bartender a leg up after securing their first bartending gig. They'll teach you liquor history, countless recipes, customer service, cleanliness, and how to perform efficiently under pressure. Students will find out early on that if they're not serious about learning the art of bartending, this class will not be a cakewalk. You have to study and practice constantly. If I remember correctly, the instructors here had a combined 40 years experience behind the bar. So they're experts in the field. They know what makes a competent bartender. All students have to prove that they've put in the work in and out of class. If they don't, they'll be exposed come test time. Failing to prepare is preparing to fail. I noticed at the beginning, the owner (Jim) was very nice while trying to solicit my enrollment. After I was in, he really had little or nothing to say to anyone. It was like two totally different people. However, he does run a great business because the classes stay full. If anyone is looking to become a bartender, I'd definitely recommend coming here. 1.) I originally signed up for class in November 2016. I completed the first week and never came back. Then in March of 2017 I did the same thing, only did a week and never came back. I can say that the owner and teachers welcomed me back for the third time in September 2017 and I successfully finished the course with no extra charge. 2.) Both teachers, Brandon and Nathan, have years of experience. Each class, they give up many pointers to remember recipes, funny stories of their experiences, and most importantly, teach us the correct techniques to move efficiently behind the bar. 3.) I'm new to Texas and was looking to take a bartending course. I found ABC bartending and decided to check it out before I signed up. The first person I met was Ashley and she was very welcoming. Ashley was hands on at all times and would always work with you one on one if you needed more help with drills. She makes you feel very relaxed and truly wants you to succeed. Forget the other review on here. Everyone is friendly and a lot of fun to listen to. The students are all a lot of fun as well. You learn a broad spectrum of thigs, and you get to laugh and have fun while doing so! -1 star .... I had a great experience at the school and I would recommend it to anyone interested in bartending. You learn a lot through hands on experience and the instructors are great, entertaining and knowledgeable. I attended the school a little over two years ago and I am able to go back for a refresher course without any additional cost. They do assist with job placement but just like any other job you have to go out and earn it your self they provide you with companies that are known to hire people who have graduated from the school. Bartending has always been something I wanted to do as a side job. At first I was a bit skeptical because other people stated Bartending school wasn't necessary and if you worked in a restaurant they would prefer to teach you their way of doing things. I went ahead and signed up for the class anyway and I'm soooo glad I did. Signing up was easy and Boogie (owner) emailed me right away with all the needed information. They have different class times/locations and seem very flexible! I started the morning class at the Chimney Rock location yesterday and I'm enjoying every minute of it. Jason (instructor) is awesome, very energetic about teaching and knows his stuff! The classroom is a bar setting to give you the feel of the "real world" environment and the class members are small in size. I love most that everything is HANDS ON & that's the best way 2 learn!! Very fun school, it almost makes you feel like your working at an actual bar with the music & the set up. Everything is hands on even while they teach which is awesome because I'm a hands on learner. & they do a little quiz (no grade) just to help you out see what you don't know yet & what you need to work on. I just completed my course at ABC bartending school. I really enjoyed my class here. My instructor, Nate, was very helpful and informative and made the drink recipes easy to remember. Not to mention he has crazy flare bartending skills. The "classroom" is essentially a giant bar, so you get to practice as if you're actually working in a bar/club. I have always wanted to be a bartender but had never got around to it. I decided to go to the Texas School Of Bartenders to see how i would do in a similar environment and to be sure i knew what i was doing if the time ever came. I don't think i could have made a better decision! The school is great and super informative, the teachers are very hands on and help you and make sure you understand everything. For me it wasn't like going to school, it was something that i looked forward to and enjoyed doing! It is a very fun environment! My instructor was Nathan who was a graduate from the school himself and now teaches there, and he was just awesome! Really fun, funny, he knows what he's doing and makes sure you know what you're doing and takes the time to demonstrate everything so everyone has a good understanding of they are going to be doing! They go out of their way to make you feel welcome and comfortable and are just all around great people! After you complete the school they give you a list of potential job leads and how to go about approaching it, if it is going down to apply in person or online, who to speak to very helpful and informative! Now that I'm done with the school, i have gotten a job within just a few days of completing it and i couldn't be more excited and i owe it all to this awesome school!
